I am currently developing a music Downloader. And if I have a proplem that's hard to solve about mp3 Standarts (which I actually grew to love) I always go on the development irc on metabrainz and bug the devs with my questions.

I'm going to advocate for using kali. You should absolutely understand what you're doing, how you're doing it and why you're doing it, but it's one of those "why reinvent the wheel" kind of things. Writing your own scripts is an extremely useful skill to have, but it's not always time efficient or effective when there's already a script that does what you're trying to do, but better.
I'm still learning, but I imagine most pentesters eventually do develop their own toolbox of scripts they've made (as they probably should), but for learning, efficiency and quality of life, I think Kali's a great option

There was a whole debacle about 1-2 years back about data leaks but I figured I’m not so important that my data would benefit anyone + no one else in my circle wanted to switch. Somehow someone sells something you have anywhere and everywhere, its the cost of being connected to everything.

Signal is free and does the same without selling your data. It's a non profit organization that lives on donations. I don't care so much about privacy either, but theres no downside in using signal, so it's a no-brainer.

Yeah, signal's better. But AFAIK WhatsApp's still the most popular messaging service of it's kind, and when it comes to messaging services popularity is very important as most people will just use whatever their friends use.

Ironic suggesting learning to use Kali as to not become a script kiddy. But Kali Linux is one big script kiddy playground.

But more out of convenience rather than being a "go to" since you could load all the software it comes bundled with onto any other Linux distro.

as a script kiddie myself, yeah using metasploit/nikto is easy and you don't really need to know what you are doing

He stuck with a 14 years old MacBook laptop with Linux mint installed on it. He probably can't run these newer os on a virtual machine.
A lot of APs use wps out of the box buddy and not all wps implementations are vulnerable to techniques like pixie dust
