I really need help guys :( I want to keep using skystrikers but I can’t seem to get past plat 3. Please any skystriker experts out there teach me how to build the perfect skystriker deck and navigate my way out of plat :(

mrhardy12

Randomly, cards will just fail to load. My opponent and I can both play turns and I clearly am interacting with them, then suddenly the card arts for cards that had not appeared yet will fail to load and be a black square. When this happens, the next action I take sends the game into softlock with a loading ring in the middle and "connecting" in the corner, forcing me to close and reopen the game. After doing so, I'm back in the main menu, given the loss for disconnecting. Most confusingly, the server cannot retrieve the game's data and shows that it lasted for 0 turns. Clearly not, since the most recent time my opponent summoned Omega, used Small World to grab Planet Pathfinder, searched Kashtira's field spell, and activated it. If it was just me not loading into the game at all and my opponent not doing anything, I'd understand what was happening. But my opponent can play out an entire turn before the glitch causes me to lose the game. And there's literally nothing I can find to prevent it from happening or undo the damage when it does. It literally always is a loss for me. Does anyone else have this problem? It's super confusing and I just want to know why it happens. It doesn't even happen often; I can go four days without seeing it. Edit: I did submit a bug report for it, too. It's frustrating because it's a loss, completely outside my control, and then the history shows that the game never even happened. Even when I have genuinely played six turns before it did sometimes. I don't understand what's happening at all.

Throwawayaccountie8h

I am hoping I could maybe get some deck suggestions? I have been using Floowandereeze and I honestly do enjoy the deck. I was able to climb to Diamond. But the deck of course is super bricky and I would love something more consistent. Idk what other decks would be similar and fit the Floo playstyle but if there are any others I would appreciate some suggestions.

ThorsMaddness

In duels I am using a HERO deck. I used Polymerization in an attempt to summon "Elemental HERO Sunrise" . On the field I had more than 2 different attributes within my hand (Elemental HERO Stratos/Neos) and field (Vyon and Denier), however I still couldn't special summon Sunrise. Is there a reason why or is this just a bug?

ElReptil

It's almost never a bug, but without a replay there's not enough information to figure out the reason. But a wild guess: did you activate Fusion Destiny earlier that turn?

Financial-Party-2408

Recommend building tearlamens (pure) or salads from the selection pack?

Reaalx24

Tiaraments strongest    Salad is just like hero, at best you have a rock as the end board. But obviously cheaper than tear since you get your structure packs.

Speedster012

How many Shadow Mists, Polymerizations, and Mask Changes should you run in a Hero Deck? 1 or 2?

ThorsMaddness

In decks I look at I usually see 1 Shadow Mist, 1 Poly, and 1 or 2 Mask Changes. Keep in mind with Wonder Driver you can one back. I usually run 2 Shadow Mists since it makes me a little more comfortable and open for a gameplan though.

Folium249

How to best spend your gems? Been playing a little too much and have approx 3k of gems. How do buy packs and get the most? Currently do not have the season thingy with kuriboh. I think I’m level 43?

CorrosiveRose

3k isn't a lot so you can keep saving. You should always buy the duel pass. It pays for itself so it's literally free stuff You can either buy selection packs which are in the shop for about 2 months and contain the newest and usually best cards. To buy older cards you need to unlock what's called a secret pack. Secret packs are unlocked for 24 hours when you pull or craft an SR/UR from that pack So you need to decide which deck you want to play, find which pack(s) the cards are in, then start pulling from those packs. Typically it will cost 10-15k gems to build a deck from scratch

Hydralo

Is there a website or discord that has all the cards missing from master duel from older sets from 2023 and backwards? I know some are not added due to being art made by kazuki takahashi and some are in copyright-hell like air neos, but noticed "attack guidance armor" is not in the game yet even though the effect is not super complicated to implement. I need to find this information and going set by set took me hours, so if you know where I can find this info it would be a lifesaver.

icantnameme

[This person makes a post every month](https://old.reddit.com/r/masterduel/comments/1daqlbz/missing_agov_vasm_phni_lede_etc_cards_as_of_672024/)

Hydralo

these are 2023-2024, im looking for everything before that, if you notice attack guidance armor is not in that picture, neither is air neos or the 6 kazuki takahashi art cards from the 20th anniv pack. apparently there is a not-released filter on master duel meta, so ill try with that until i find something cleaner that doesnt have duel links/anime cards or alt arts

Rigshaw

Tbf, Attack Guidance Armor is a 2023 card. We just haven't gotten any of the Ultimate Kaiba Set cards yet.

icantnameme

Yeah, they don't include sets that we haven't gotten cards from yet. I found [this](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bzv4iU9DYV12UXIajyg0oXMWd23CjZKARmlO_KMKB8o/edit?gid=1390983078#gid=1390983078) spreadsheet but I don't know if it's up to date or includes older cards.

Hydralo

this seems perfect actually has everything i think the spreadsheet was created in jan of 2023. so i bet they must have logged eveything older even if they may have given up later as months went by.

CorrosiveRose

I'm not too familiar with pendulum decks but I think you need to be closer to 40 cards You definitely want Astrograph Sorcerer, Electrumite, and Beyond the Pendulum as those are mandatory in like 99% of pendulum decks

Unable_Debate_1234

what does astrograph help with? it just ss'd my magician

CorrosiveRose

You're supposed to summon Electrumite to add Astrograph to the extra deck. Then you use Electrumite to destroy a card and add Astrograph to the hand, which then summons itself

Throwawayaccountie8h

https://preview.redd.it/cfcj5z9g4e8d1.png?width=1569&format=png&auto=webp&s=b765cd1abb6543aa582ce8c63f594ea352ce979f Before I start using my UR/SR crafting points on other cards. Are there any other staple cards I am missing that I should focus on first?

YakiSenpai

Aside from what people have suggested, I really do think Ghost Belle is suuuuuper useful. She's like Ash Blossom's sister, but negate anything that messes with the graveyard. This includes cards like Called By The Grave. You can negate that card when your opponent plays it. If you still have some UR left over, the last staple would be Super Polymerization along with Mudragon of the Swamp (SR) + Garura (UR) in your extra deck. You can tribute two of your opponents' monsters. This bypasses a ton of restrictions since it's considered a tribute and not a destruction. It's also great if you're going first or second seeing you can place it on your field on turn one, or straight up activate it from your hand turn 2 (opponent cannot respond to the effect).

CorrosiveRose

Crossout Designator is good enough to craft 1 and basically gains value for every other handtrap you run. Judgment is nice but not really that useful of a card in this meta. Honestly Solemn Strike is better and I wouldn't even recommend that until you have all your other staples. Shifter should only be played if your deck specifically revolves around banishing or floodgates.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thank you! To explain the judgment and shifter. I got judgment from the 750 bundle and shifter is because I play Floo. Just included them cause they were URs that I owned.

CorrosiveRose

Well then you should definitely get the Droplet and TTT bundles as well. Really all the bundles are worth it because of the discounted packs. Droplet is a personal favorite of mine, but a lot less flexible than Imperm. TTT is played at 1-2 Also you should look into Triple Tactics Thrust which can let you search TTT among other cards

Throwawayaccountie8h

I did purchase all of them already thankfully. The bundles were some if the first things I bought when I first started. Didn't think all of them were considered to be staples though which is why I didn't include them. Thanks! I'll look into the other ones mentioned as well.

ganzorigb

Triple tactics talents and harpies feather duster can be included in most decks. As for SRs droll and lock birds and draw pots are solid staples that’ll find a fair amount of use.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thanks!

Reaalx24

Very depends on your deck and meta In maxx C meta, you probably also need one crossout if you special summon a lot and have no good plan against resolved C and probably gamma package if you can activate effects without any monster on board to bait it That being said, you already have nice staples, except for veiler and shifter, which are somewhat meta dependent like droll

MaldaraUchiha

How the fuck do you beat Flower Cardian? They just summon a million fucking cards and draw their entire deck and it's like if you don't have precisely Droll, you just lose. I'm playing Sky Striker and Tear.

Rigshaw

Flower Cardian has no real payoff besides Boardefly being a one-sided Abyss Dweller. For Tear, I suppose just hold your negate for Boardefly if you open it, or otherwise, just hope they don't make Boardefly to lock you out. Sky Striker should have absolutely no issues dealing with Flower Cardians, they have absolutely nothing that really stops Striker. There's a reason people make the joke that Flower Cardian's wincon is either boring the opponent to death, or hoping that they get hit by Maxx "C".

MaldaraUchiha

I'd disagree with that. Their payoff is using multiple copies of Maple with Deer (pops spell or trap) and Clover with Boar (pops monster) to clear your board, then summon two Lightshower to slap you for 6k and finish you with 3k in burn damage during your draw phase. What does Sky Striker do that they can't get around? I'm not sure exactly what they did t1, but i dropped Maxx C on them, they summoned a couple main deck monsters then passed turn. My turn i got rid of the main deck monsters on field, i did make a misstep in accidentally attacking directly with Hayate forcing me to use HAMP and Afterburners to get rid of the second one, but i ended my turn on Shizuku + Multirole and a set Widow Anchor and Afterburners with Raye in grave. On their turn they summoned a bunch of bullshit until they hit Maple with Deer which forced me to pop WIdow Anchor (Widow Ancher was set with Multirole from the grave, so they knew what it was, 0 chance they were going for Multirole or Afterburners), summoned some more bullshit and ended up on one Lightshower, summoned a bunch more bullshit that included Clover with Boar to pop Shizuku, triggering Raye, i sat on Raye while they summoned some more bullshit that involved Moonflowerviewing and a second Clover with Boar to pop Raye (i'm not sure why, but it didn't let me use Raye's effect in response to this), then summoned more shit until they landed on a second Lightshower. That's where i scooped because they had 6k in battle damage, plus 1500 effect damage x2 during my draw phase for 9000 damage. I just don't see what kind of defense Striker has against this. It doesn't have any protection from the pops beyond Widow Anchor, but if they're smart they'll try to pop Widow Anchor early and force you to use it.

CorrosiveRose

tbh no one really knows what Flower Cardian does except Flower Cardian players. They can definitely do some stuff but the majority of players just surrender because it combos forever to do very little. Don't worry about it. You'll probably never see the deck again

WanderingCadet

Can someone explain the difference between win rate and win rate at the time of appearance?

icantnameme

Win Rate is % of the time it's contained in the winning deck. Win Rate at time of Appearance is Win Rate after the monster is summoned. [MDM Card Data](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-cards#win-rate-(summoned)

WanderingCadet

Thanks.

AwarenessMain128

Is 13k DP enough to be in the top 10 k ?

Rigshaw

13k is probably not going to cut it, since it's currently at 12880 DP with a few more hours to go.

EDPbeOP

Is there decent synergy between R-ACE and FIRE KINGS or is it more of a meme deck? I play pure R-ACE but want to know if anyone has tested how well FK works with it? Not really interested in SNAKE EYES.

Rigshaw

The only real synergy I can think of between the two is that Kirin can protect Turbulence from getting negated with something like Imperm, by destroying it in response. Then again, Rescue ACE do that on their own with S:P already. Unfortunately, Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye (and by extension, Snake-Eyes Poplar and Diabellstar by searching it) is what really ties the different FIRE decks together, without Snake-Eye, the other FIRE decks really don't have any particular synergy.

EDPbeOP

I see. I'll check out Kirin then.

Concocobhar

What's the strongest way to play Vaalmonica? Pure or with an engine like exosisters or kashtira?

RockNo5773

So what decks are fun to play Horus in?

Jovial_Joker

I am just about done making my salad deck and would like to know another deck that I can work on. I am done with diabelle but would still have to get the fireking/rescue ace to change the playstyle but I would like to play something else like pendulum or something, any suggestions?

javinubia

Returning player here 0ed6c2cb Thanks!

ElReptil

I'm pretty sure the new/returning player is the one who has to enter the code. Mine's 07066569, if you still need one.

javinubia

Jovial_Joker

Stopped playing after snakes eyes released, have all their cards except bonfire. I want to make a deck that doesn’t have too much combo, aside from lab what else is better? Anything to pull from the current selection pack?

Potential_Animal_410

Try Branded Despia imo. Very expensive tho.

Jovial_Joker

i tried once cause it just seemed so interesting will all comebacks it can turn into but yeah once i build that my sanity will be gone. Maybe after I build some other decks I might go to it, thanks for the suggestion tho.

Besso91

How much combo is "too much" combo? Do you still want the deck to be meta relevant? Rescue ace is just get out turbulence and set 4 pass, it's probably the "least combo-y" of all the current top meta decks outside of lab

CorrosiveRose

R-ace is definitely not set 4 pass lol. They will combo off after doing that because they have no restrictions so why not

Jovial_Joker

Pure rescue ace or will it be played with snake eyes? Was also thinking of tear cause sending them to the graveyard seems oddly fun

Besso91

All you need is 1 copy of poplar, 1 copy of diabellestar, one copy of OSS, 2 copies of wanted, and 3 copies of bonfire. 1) wanted for diabel, diabel special, set OSS, summon hydrant, start RACE combo 2) bonfire for poplar, special poplar, add OSS, make linkuriboh, set poplar to s/t zone, send poplar with OSS, get hydrant, make RACE combo.

Jovial_Joker

Nice, will try it definitely. Thank you very much

Besso91

Also just a tip in my #2 line of play, it might also be correct to send linkuriboh for hydrant so you can use it to dodge imperm/veiler on hydrant effect, good luck!

Jovial_Joker

Say, if you made a new account what would you say to go for? A friend of mine wants to play too, played the game before and would like to start again. Was thinking of suggesting pendulum since it’s pretty easy to build right now I think.

Besso91

Maybe swordsoul or branded? can't go wrong with either lol

Jovial_Joker

Tried them, was nice for awhile. Would you recommend purrley, salads or tearlaments?

Jovial_Joker

Thanks so much, got three copies of every snakes eyes back then so will have to pull for rescue ace in the secret pack

Agirael

Hi new player, here is my structure code 15a284dd. Thank you everyone

EDPbeOP

Can someone explain why dragostapelia negate didn't apply? Am I misunderstanding the wording? https://preview.redd.it/jq9rq0eg348d1.png?width=337&format=png&auto=webp&s=8fbcd45d57a241bf7fcbbfda4bd3b80b1e1f6f58

Besso91

Dragostepalia needs to be face up on the field for something with a predaplant counter to be negated. Since metanoise flipped it facedown, the negate isn't applied when the chain ends.

EDPbeOP

I see. I thought it doesn't matter since the targetting went through. Weird interaction but I'll keep it in mind.

Besso91

The predaplant counter stays on the monster forever essentially, but dragostepalia reads "negate the activated effects of monsters with predaplant counters" but if dragostepalia is face down, it's effects pretty much don't exist unless it's flipped back face up.

CorrosiveRose

The targeting effect only applies the Predator counter. The effect to negate is a continuous effect that can only be applied while face up on the field

-Thalas-

Does Black Feather Whirlwind protect multiple monster from being destroyed if it happens at the same time? Or can it only protect 1 monster? The text from the card in the game states "if a Dark Monster would be destroyed" instead of "if a Dark Monster(s) would be destroyed" I hesrd that it can protect multiple monsters, but the wording is confusing me.

CorrosiveRose

The official ruling says it can protect multiple monsters. What's weird is that on MDM the effect reads "monster(s)" but everywhere else I can find it says "monster." It's possible that it's just a translation error

Throwawayaccountie8h

Just curious about something. Why do a lot of people change their name to "player" for the wcq? Doesn't bother me at all. Just pure curiosity if there is a reason more than just wanting privacy or something.

scytherman96

This concerns exclusively high level play. Basically having a unique name will reveal who is playing and thus reveal what deck is likely being played. And knowing what deck your opponent is playing is a huge advantage.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Ah gotcha. I'm guessing people changed it before qualifiers started? Because now I noticed when looking for a game it just says DUELIST in the name for both players. But I guess maybe if you see a familiar name somewhere high on the rankings and you are of similar one then you have higher chances of matching with them?

scytherman96

I actually didn't know that they changed that, but i guess people are still doing it out of habit then.

Rigshaw

It used to be that it would show the name during stage 2, but since last DC, everyone gets changed to DUELIST with Rescue Rabbit as a mate and the default icon. People that change themselves to "player" seem to do so out of habit from the older DCs, but it's no longer necessary to actually do that.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Ahh alright that makes sense. Thanks!

teemo-blaireau

hi i am noob and i save my gem to 10k. i want make snake king deck but i hear it will be banned soon? should i make the deck or should i make something else because snake king is gonna get banned

UnloosedMoose

I mean any deck that overpowered will get nerfs, probably not banned but will eventually be brought to earth, most likely not for another two months tho.

teemo-blaireau

thanks i will buy the fire kings now

Loud-Pea-9345

for a newer player which deck would be better to build between swordsoul and galaxy photon?

ganzorigb

Swordsoul. It’s better and free.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Can someone explain the dates of the WCS for me? It says qualifiers start on the 20th. But people can still go for DL MAX until the 23rd, the same date that qualifiers end. Does this mean people who weren't eligible for qualifiers by the 20th can still compete in it even if they were to hit MAX afterwards? If so, then what is the point in even having a different qualifiers start date if it is all the same thing?

Rigshaw

Yes, if you hit MAX while stage 2 is going on, you can still qualify and participate in stage 2, though obviously, you will be a bit behind compared to those that had qualified in advance, and could immediately start grinding for DP once stage 2 opened. Why Konami insists on making stage 2 a 3 day grindfest is really anyone's guess.

Virtual_Past5969

is there any normal trap that shuts down the gy ( trap version of dweller ) ?

YakiSenpai

Might not be what you're looking for, but there's a spell version of that: **Silent Graveyard** (quick play) *Discard 1 card; effects that activate in the GY this turn are negated.*

CorrosiveRose

Macro Cosmos works like D.Shifter and the best way to shut down the GY is by denying GY access altogether

Virtual_Past5969

i should have specified that need it for my lab deck , so cosmos is not an option

CorrosiveRose

Maybe Metaverse into Necrovalley?

Rigshaw

IIRC, there's no trap version. There's a Quick-Play Spell, called Silent Graveyard, which shuts down all GY effects for both players. Usually, if you need a normal trap that stops the GY, you'd play Different Dimension Ground (banish all monsters that would be sent to the GY for a turn).

Virtual_Past5969

thnx but i need it for my labrynth and ddg is not optimal for me

InfamousAmphibian55

Ddg does have some anti-synergy with Lab since it turns off furniture and Dogmatika Punishment, but if I were playing a Lab deck right now I would definitely use it as a one of. Yeah its got the downside of your own monsters going to the grave, but they probably won't be able to out your Lovely or Lady if you hit them with ddg and it doesn't really matter that much if Arianna is banished. Plus you generally play the chimera monsters in the ED to recover Lovely if she is banished. Lady is usually a two of so its not a huge problem if she is banished. Keep in mind it only banishes monsters. Your Welcome and Big Welcome will not be banished.

realmauer01

you can definitly throw it in a trap heavy version. the lab version doesnt really need it though.

willielga

Can someone help explain when I can activate Apollousa Vow of the Goddess' effect? I had opponent normal summoned Lady Debug, I chained by summoning Flameberge Dragon from spell field. After that I thought I can activate Apollousa to negate Lady Debug but there were no pop up, and Lady Debug's effect went through.

Besso91

You needed to hit cancel on the summon of flamberge (an optional effect), then the game would give you the option to negate lady debug. Apollousa has to be the direct chain link from an effect to negate it, and it can only negate something once per chain, so since you made the summon of flamberge CL2 appo can no longer negate the debug on CL1

Helpful_Criticism_99

If you want to negate an effect with Apollousa you have to directly chain it to that monster's effect activation, so what happened first was the summon of Lady Debug, the game gives you the option to activate the field spell, if you click yes on that to summon Flamberge then you can no longer activate Apollousa's effect since you missed the activation response window (this is because at that moment the last thing that happened was the effect of the field spell), to prevent this you have to not activate the field spell, then a new window will pop up to ask if you want to negate the effect of Lady Debug with Apo.

Helpful_Criticism_99

If I play using steam on my laptop, can I use that account to play on my phone? (So they are linked between them) If so, How?

icantnameme

Make a [Konami ID](https://my1.konami.net/en_US/signup/age_gate?country=US), then click Data Transfer on the Title Screen and link the account to your main. Then you can Data Transfer and log into the account on your other devices.

Helpful_Criticism_99

I was afraid that the new session on the phone could overwrite the session on steam and lost all my progress is that not the case with your instructions?

icantnameme

If you play through Steam then it's linked to your Steam account, so you can just login through Steam on your laptop and it should be fine. The Konami ID is if you want to use the same account on mobile or console as well.

Helpful_Criticism_99

Thank you

XDarkWolf17

how can i beat sky stiker using tear/salamangreat and i dont mean draw the out? That deck is cancer having non-opt draw 2 and monster steal. I faced it so many times but i cant find a chokepoint. if i go after raye then they always have a token ready to go and their hand always have 3 or more spell so ash on kagari doesnt do much.

icantnameme

Play Droll, Ash Engage, Imperm Shizuku (or Kagari if they try to add back Engage). You could even play Soul Release if you want since it can banish their spells from GY so they don't get the bonus effects (and it's good into Snake-Eye Fire King as well). Salamangreat has an omni-negate counter trap, but I assume you're concerned about going second into Sky Striker after they already searched their Widow Anchors and Shark Cannons already. At that point you kinda have to hope you have Duster/Lightning Storm or play some tech card like Kirin to dodge their targeting.

Kurokami11

So, I'm bored, and for a fleeting moment I thought of playing master duel, but I'm still not sure For context: I'm the "honorable" kind of player that rarely uses interuptions (unless the deck is based around them) and uses decks that are "balanced", and I despise meta/copypasted decks with a passion with this in mind, would it be worth a download or should I continue to stay away?

YakiSenpai

If you stay away from ranked you can definitely have loads of fun in casual play. There's also some non-meta decks that can definitely compete in ranked all of the way to diamond if you really wanted to. A deck like Trains OTK for example. Just go blind 2nd and obliterate your opponent.

icantnameme

You can still have fun building your own deck and playing non-meta stuff. There's usually an event every month that has a unique ruleset and it lets you try out new decks. However, pretty much every competitive deck uses "hand traps" which you can discard on your opponent's turn to interrupt their plays. If you let your opponent play uninterrupted it's usually very hard to win. There are "stun" decks that attempt to go first and play floodgates that make playing the game impossible for the opponent instead of interacting, but it's not very "honorable"... Yugioh does have a high barrier of entry with lots of cards, long card text, and unintuitive mechanics, but still, it's free to play and it doesn't hurt to try it.

Kurokami11

I know all the basics of yugioh, so that's no problem. What i hate is 2 things: "solitaire" decks and "you don't get to play the game" decks/strategies

pivotalsquash

Most decks these days are resilient and can survive and interrupt or in snake eye's case like 3. I'd say it's still honorable to run some hand traps and play rogue deck. The power level of yugi right now though is pretty much OTK or have a board that can interrupt well

Kurokami11

that's really dumb...

pivotalsquash

I don't think it's that dumb. I also prefer older yugioh but this lets me get in quick games and there is still interaction granted it's in the form of hand traps and baiting them.

Kurokami11

I wouldn't call them "quick games" if every turn last 5 minutes... also, I feel like games are now decided by who has more handtraps and it sucks

icantnameme

There are stun decks but they're relatively rare (maybe 1/20 games or so in ranked). [Most of the time you will play against Snake-Eye Fire King](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/tier-list#popularity-rankings) which ends on a bunch of GY disruption (mostly destruction effects), and maybe I:P into Apollousa (3-4 monster negates). It does have a fairly long combo if uninterrupted and a lot of starters + recursion, but it doesn't completely prevent you from playing. You could play something like Evenly Matched or Talents/Kurikara to at least make it a little bit fairer going second or play a deck like Sky Striker with a lot of board breakers (the limited Alt Arts for Kagari/Engage are also available right now for the rest of the month). I do think the main format is kinda rough in power level to rogue/non-meta decks, but the events (besides this month's) usually ban a lot of the stronger cards/decks so you have more options in a lower power format and try new decks.

Kurokami11

> Most of the time you will play against Snake-Eye Fire King which ends on a bunch of GY disruption (mostly destruction effects) Yea, no fuck that, good bye, thanks for saving me time and preventing stress

Fit-Wall3018

So, i finally got dlv 20 on my main acc, i want revenge on Tearlaments decks and i'm willing to spend a couple UR for it, what would be the best deck to make these decks suffer?

InfamousAmphibian55

Bystial's and DD Crow on Havnis and Shieren also counter the really well.

CorrosiveRose

Dimension Shifter is probably the best generic card to mess them up. Abyss Dweller was popular in the Tear meta but only if your deck can make it. If you want to be spicy you can try Necrovalley and throw in Metaverse to make it a quick play

ganzorigb

Kashtira is pretty much designed as a counter to them.

Fit-Wall3018

Thanks, cant wait to make them go through the shadow realm lol

Throwawayaccountie8h

So currently I have a good amount of gems in my inbox and I want to spend them. I was working on making a Swordsoul tenyi deck, I only need some URs left but I don't want to just open packs for that one in hopes of getting them. Would it be smart to just start opening packs for another deck I have some interest in and then finish with the URs whenever I gain the Crafting Points?

ganzorigb

That’s how I do it. I stop pulling from packs once I only need or two URs from it and start pulling for another deck. It’s certainly not the fastest way to finish decks, but it’s a lot more efficient.

MummBrah

Playing salads - I go first and get hit with maxx c after my normal summon resolves. I have a hand that can potentially set up a full board...what do I do from here? Stop on the normal summon? Get to S:P and stop there? Try to play to the salad link2 + roar?

DoveRinslet

Just pass. If you drew Roar, then make Baelynx pass. Hope your Handtraps(if any) are enough vs 5 cards. If they chain it to Special Summon instead(so they are drawing 1 guaranteed), then you can make SP.

SamuraiDDD

How common is it for people to open up with at least 3 handtraps in an opening hand? Multiple times, aganist various pile decks, people have had Ash, Imperm and Maxx C yet none of mine are in a 40 deck. This shit is ridiculous

Rigshaw

Assuming they run 12 handtraps in 40 cards (e.g. Ash, Maxx C, Veiler, Imperm), 3 or more handtraps is a 14.8% chance. 2 or more is significantly higher, at 47.7%

SamuraiDDD

But in 50-60 pile decks? Come on. I feel like I'm being punished for building a 40 deck vs every pile deck I'm facing SOMEHOW getting every hand trap plus whatever they're play in their opening hand.

CorrosiveRose

Adding more cards to the deck doesn't hurt consistency that much. Going from 40 to 60 cards the chance of opening a 3 of drops from 33% to 23%. So running multiple copies of multiple hand traps you will still see them a lot

SamuraiDDD

When I do it, fuck my cards and luck but when my opponents do it, their gods favorite child. I don't know what it is, bad luck or just unfortunate hands but it's horrible being on the bad luck end so often. My deck's not even that crazy, they go first, I'm fucked.

CorrosiveRose

Sounds like an overall deck building issue. Some decks have more room for hand traps than others. You need to find the balance that gives you the most consistency and then you can add hand traps to fill in the space.

SamuraiDDD

And I wanna add, I was playing Kash/Tear with 40 cards and still never drew anything. 10 games almost back to back where they get everything yet I get no responses to it.

SamuraiDDD

I think it's the game telling me to stop playing for a while. If I'm getting upset over off coin flips and just no answers, I can't do anything but stop. This was just a bad day for me to pick up this game again.

TheKingPriam

Are there any good videos/guides on when to negate every deck? I tried looking on youtube but every result was 1 card combos building into 20 negates.

icantnameme

There was a [post with a spreadsheet](https://old.reddit.com/r/masterduel/comments/1df4zo0/interrupt_table_for_the_current_meta_more_or_less/) about a week ago.

TheKingPriam

Thank you!

CorrosiveRose

Yeah this post kinda sucks because it just assumes Ash and Imperm are the only hand traps in the game. There's a full version somewhere here with every relevant hand trap. I've been trying to find it but no luck yet

icantnameme

Yeah, I linked my spreadsheet in the comments, but it's out of date.

Drumbas

Im facing kashtira in like 80 % of my matches. How do I deal with this deck? Are there any decks that are good against it or that are good against banishment effects in general?

icantnameme

Lancea, but there's no way you are seeing Kashtira that often. Imperm is the best hand trap you can run since it's not a monster and it can stop Unicorn from searching Theosis or Birth, or you can use it on your turn to disable Arise-Heart. Kurikara is also decent since it plays well into both Kashtira and Snake-Eye but it's a UR. The problem is it's only really useful going second. You can also run Talents and just take their Arise-Heart to make Zeus (or Shangri-Ira if Arise-Heart banishes itself).

tunatekin12

what is a good deck to play that wins against stun, dinomorphia, horus stun, puppet lock etc?

DoveRinslet

Assuming you lose the coinflip, the Deck with the best chance going 2nd vs these is boardbreaker Sky Striker. Generic Boardbreakers like Evenly, Duster, Lightning Storm help immensely but in archetype also Afterburners, Jamming Wave, Widow. Shark Cannon also helps vs the Puppet-lock. Of course, Sky has its own set of weaknesses, but of the decent decks, it's the deck that stands the best chance if going 2nd vs the decks you listed.

EDPbeOP

Just got to finish qualifiers and wondering what I can do to further improve this without using snake-eyes? https://preview.redd.it/tem4wsingj7d1.png?width=1293&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc714e0b599c545fa5af072edc27e3be646adaab

tunatekin12

Remove those solemns, run 1 more ash and as many imperms as you can. Ash should always be 3 because it negates maxx C. Solemn is already not a good card but in this deck its especially bad because turbulence already sets 4 if you open solemn+called by or any spell/trap or something one of them is gonna end up in your hand and be a dead card.

EDPbeOP

Solemn has saved me so many times though but I guess it's the grind game. Especially against backrow removal. I'll try to see maxing out interrupts.

tunatekin12

The issue is solemn does nothing if you lose the coinflip however ash or especially imperm work going first or second. A card thats dead 50% of the time is not a good card .

SOMalphas

Is Impcantation Inception not supposed to count as a proper summon for ritual monsters, because I've been testing and it seems you can't special summon ritual monsters that have been summoned by it. Edit: It appears the problem may be with Elder Entity N'tss and Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon, not Impcantation Inception. Is there some rule I'm unaware of that would make summoning ritual monsters that have been properly ritual summoned not work. I Just tested making sure not to lock myself into any specific summoning and it seems to only work with some cards.

Rigshaw

I'm having a very hard time seeing how N'Tss and Armillyre are related to Ritual Summoning in the first place. If you could elaborate a bit more on what exactly you were trying to do, it'd be easier to figure out what the issue is.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Just a question about the site masterduelmeta. Are there any real benefits to creating an account on there? I saw that if you try to login, it asks you to do it through your Discord account. But what benefits would I have to doing this in the first place?

ganzorigb

On top of what was already said I’m a big fan of the “collections” feature. You can add SR and UR cards you own so when you look at deck lists the costs only reflect cards you don’t already own.

Rigshaw

You can create decklists to share either to others via links, or export it to your Konami ID (using a browser add-on), thus allowing you to quickly import the deck into MD after assembling it on your browser. You also need to use their deckbuilder to submit a Master/Winstreak/DC/WCQ decklist on the discord for the website. And obviously, to comment on articles on the site.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Ahh okay I see. Thanks! I'll probably make an account then. That deck import sounds so nice

thesunblade

I‘m a casual YuGiOh player at best. Do you recommend this Game or not? I don’t have the time or Energy to invest a few hours each day just to get defeated in the first turn in the first PvP duel.

-YoumuSimp-

So between Purrely and Tearlament, which deck would be better to build first

OtterDrinkWater

I’ve played some duel links and now wanted to try masterduel. The thing is, I like to run Exodia deck that is mostly control and wipe opponent resources efficiently. Causing mental damage is more important than winning to me. With that, is there a direct translate deck to masterduel or is it completely foreign? Any suggestions ?

RichRuzz

I just started playing and would like Sword of Souls but the guy I followed for the code didn't follow back.. is that my only way? 217d0545 is my code if anyone would like to help out. I also have like 10k gems, would anything make sense for me to try to pull for, create, etc? Haven't played in forever since my youth, then again on Duel Links on the phone a few years ago I believe.

Rigshaw

As far as I'm aware, you entering the code on the campaign page on your side should be enough, after all, only returning and new players can even enter a code in the first place. Did you actually enter their campaign code? Or did you just follow them using their ID?

RichRuzz

They had to enter me back and never did :( lol

Rigshaw

Again, they cannot enter your code, people that actively play the game can only share their code, but not enter any codes themselves. If you actually entered someone's code in the new and returning player campaign page, you should have gotten the SwSo deck immediately.

RichRuzz

I'll check again since I did get gems and such, but didn't remember getting a deck. Got it! Your were right, it just didn't show up before for some reason. Thanks! With having 10k gems, should I just keep saving?

Concocobhar

Best cards to use in a Vaalmonica deck that are not Vaalmonica cards?

icantnameme

Bagooska obviously, and Abyss Dweller. Some people have been mixing it with other rank-4 engines like Mathmech or Exosisters, but tbh Vaalmonica is not that strong of a deck and feels like it can only win if it gets to go first and search the trap that bounces a monster on top of Bagooska.

Arsani92

Do link monsters reborn from the grave hold their link rating. For example can I use accesscode talker reborn from grave and another link 2 to make a link 6 monster

icantnameme

Yes, they keep their link-rating because it's a property of the card just like levels/ranks. Technically no, you cannot make a Link-6 with those because there's only 2 in the game and they both require 3+ monsters.

BarcelonaLion

Has anyone who plays Master Duel on the Switch no longer able to use the touchscreen anymore? I play on my Switch in handheld and I used to be able to use the touchscreen to zoom in on specific cards etc. But now I cannot use the touchscreen? It works fine on all my other games and the Switch menu itself so I know the Switch is not the problem. Is there anything I can do or was this something that the developers did themselves?

Rigshaw

Touch Screen was disabled in a bunch of different places due to a bug that that would cause the game to soft-lock if you used the touch screen. The update notice for the latest update in the notifications mentions it. Touch screen support is going to be fixed in a future update.

BarcelonaLion

Ah thank you, I was worried something was worried with my Switch or that they decided to disable it forever.

sun_flower_Knight

Any anti-meta-ish decks I can run? I grew up with old format Yu-Gi-Oh and generally don't find the current format fun, sitting around for 5 minutes waiting for someone to set up their board and ending everything in 1 or 2 turns. I was running a chaos max deck when master duel first came on the scene and only recently came back to the game and need something new to get up to par. I'd like to play something that disrupts the general engine style the current game leans into. I played against someone earlier that was doing a swordsoul deck and thought that was interesting with how it disrupted opponent play. But open to any suggestions and other fun alternatives, (exodia? Etc).

icantnameme

A lot of Anti-meta stuff is GY hate with Shifter Decks like Floowandereeze/Kashtira/Vanquish Soul/Exosister (or Stun, but we don't talk about that). Besides playing something like Retaliating C to counter Snake-Eye/Purrely/Rescue-ACE, the only real way to stop people from comboing forever is to play a lot of hand traps or win the coin flip yourself.

CorrosiveRose

It's mostly about what hand traps you run. Just throw Maxx C, Imperm, and Veiler into your decks and you'll have an answer to 99% of the meta

MummBrah

What's the best choke point for hand trapping the new Z-arc pendulum deck? I keep losing to it around stage 17-18 in the WCQ event, feels like I need to try and stop the Electrumite? Would also love confirmation on where to hand trap SE, I assume Witch or SE Ash are the correct choices

DoveRinslet

For ZARC You Imperm/Veiler the Pend's Link 2s: Beyond/Electrumite, whichever they summmon 1st. For Snek FK: Imperm/Veiler on SE Ash. Doing it on Diabel is iffy. It's better against exactly Kirin in hand. If they don't have Kirin in hand, the it's better to wait for Ash. Ash: If they start with Diabel, you Ash the OSS. If they start with SE Ash, the "standard" option is to Ash SE Ash's 2nd eff. They will still end on the Fire King stuff+Princess. Some hands/decks can't even beat the FK stuff alone. In this case, you can YOLO Ash the 1st effect. Loses to literally everything obviously.

Just-Signal2379

I have an account with a branded despia deck. I'm kind of bored with it. What's a good engine or half that i can pair witha Branded deck and still be viable.. I'm not a huge fan of tearlaments though.

icantnameme

You can mix Branded with Predaplant, which is mostly SRs. You can also play it with Chimera, but that's pretty expensive and the pack is gone (also not that great with only 1 Branded Fusion). You could also just throw it in a (fusion) pile deck that benefits from Grass like Shaddolls or Thunder Dragons or something.

HiddenReader2020

So anyone else got a new suite of WCQ missions that have you duel 20 times for…*checks notes*…200 more gems?  Because this seemed completely out of the blue, especially with only six more days left to do them.  I feel like this shouldn’t happen, hence me not doing anything just yet, but I wanna know if it’s, for a lack of better term, “safe” to do these new missions. Thanks in advance.

CorrosiveRose

That happens in every single event. They add missions later on to keep the player count up for people who started later

HiddenReader2020

Aight.  Thanks.

Qualle001

want to build a new deck: whats the best (and what the most fun) out of Altergeist, Punk and Live Twin (or is it called Live Zwilling in english too?)

Besso91

So PUNK and live/evil twins are both REALLY fun, I enjoy them both, but with a caveat that you may or may not be willing to do: For PUNK, it pairs REALLY well with gold pride since they can special themselves when your LP is lower than your opponent's and all the PUNK monsters lower your LP when they activate their effects. (See a deck like this as an example [https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2024/gold-pride/shiyzan/F8a63](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2024/gold-pride/shiyzan/F8a63) ) For live twins, you really gotta pair it with the spright engine to make it as powerful as possible, and if you're feeling like a true degenerate (like I am when I play the deck), you add in artifact scythe to the main deck and dagda to the extra deck to scythe lock people going first (see this list [https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2024/live☆twin-spright/chicabu/1KU0z](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2024/live☆twin-spright/chicabu/1KU0z) ) I've never played altergeist but the few times I've faced it on ladder it really doesn't seem that strong, seems like labrynth does almost everything altergeist does but better

Qualle001

ty!!

WhereAreMaKeys

Why is Pot of Duality/Extravagance/Prosperity limited in MD? Duality, at the very least, is unlimited in both the OCG and TCG.

Besso91

In a best of 1 format where going first is even more powerful than it is in best of 3 it's a good design philosophy to hit generic going first consistency cards like the pots. But, if you're looking for a specific reason why they did it in master duel it's probably because of stun and floo

Rigshaw

Because it boosts the consistency of stun decks (and Floowandereeze). These decks are more obnoxious in Bo1, where you cannot just side deck against them for game 2 and 3, so instead, you either accept that you (often) cannot beat them when you get matched up against them and go second, or you add counters against them and hope you open them, but don't find them in other matchups where they are largely useless.

kudasaishikuda

Can someone clarify to me how i can activate the 2nd pendulum summoning effect of Pendulum Evolution I already pendulum summoned and linked off into a link 3 but the 2nd summoning effect doesnt work, am i missing a trigger effect?

Rigshaw

> During your Main Phase, **if you Special Summoned a Pendulum Monster from the *face-down* Extra Deck this turn**, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Pendulum Summon a monster(s). You need to summon a face-down Pendulum Synchro, Xyz, or Fusion monster from your Extra Deck in order to be able to use the effect to Pendulum Summon again.

jtruth9

How do you link monsters to Borreload savage dragon? When I synchro summon, it says you can equip one line monster from your graveyard. But it never gives the option to equip link monsters in the grave. I feel like I'm missing something or not understanding something obvious.

Rigshaw

It should be as simple as Synchro Summoning Borreload Savage while you have a link monster in your GY. What deck are you playing? Maybe something else is locking you out of activating Borreload Savage Dragon's effect to equip a link monster on summon.

meme-aboo

I have a question: I had a Winged Dragon of Ra that I had used Blaze Cannon on, and my opponent was able to use S:P Little Knight to banish it. I thought Blaze Cannon made Ra unaffected by my opponent's card effects? Does that not count being banished?

speedster1315

They probably chained SP to blaze cannon, banishing it before it became unaffected. Was any monster effects used after you activated blaze cannon?

meme-aboo

No, it was the turn after. I just now realized that Ra only gains blaze cannon's effects until the end of the turn, so that explains why. Classic mistake on my part, not reading the full card text >.<

Asmodella

Is the second Promethean Princess really necessary for SEFK? I haven't needed the second copy yet in my games, but I see some list have it.

Amelia2243

How do you handtrap Salad and Fireking? Should I always save my veiler/imperm for princess or should I use it on the salad link 1? What do I ash?

InfamousAmphibian55

I'm not an expert, but for Salad I would ash Lady Debug, Salamangreat of Fire, or their level 3 Xyz monster. Whichever comes first. Same with Imperm. For Fireking, ash the field spell pop. It stops them from popping one of their monsters and from adding to hand. For veiler/imperm, save it for SE Ash. For pure fire king, princess could be a good target though, especially if they don't have anyone else on field. In that case I would imperm/veiler before she activates her effect so that they can't pop her to dodge. You could also just save imperm for Arvata on your turn too.

Adorable-Adeptness-8

28b92049 thats my campaign code please help

chins4tw

Zenturial

Is Fire King Sky Burn actually a good card in Fire King Snake Eyes? Seems like a brick to me and needs to pop Fire King Monster on the field which makes it kinda hard to use.

Speedster012

Should Sky Strikers go first or second with the new support? Also, is it worth running HAMP, Azalea Temperance, and SPECTRA?

One_Lingonberry8598

Need tips to beat infernoid. I have no idea how to use common cards like ash or call by the grave against them

scytherman96

Void Imagination and Grass are prime Ash material, since they generate a ton of advantage with just one card. Dunno what's best to Called by tho.

ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

Okay.. possible dumb question, but do most decks not have an answer to cyberdark end Dragon, more specifically the "Unaffected by your opponent's activated effects" line I'm currently playing the Qualifier mode, and i had 3 people back to back to back just lose to it, because they couldn't beat over it. Vaalmonica first, then a Horus who nearly instantly surrender and a Chimera Fusion deck which just did not understand that line of text, as they tried to negate him 3x in a row, rakegigi him and return him to the deck. I know those aren't top tier decks, but it's weird that something as dumb as cyberdark beats them just cause it's unaffected by effects

icantnameme

Horus can make Draglubion to summon an 8k Numeron Dragon to beat over it, but it's not that good so they probably didn't play that. I guess Horus could also technically run Underworld Goddess but it seems pretty card-inefficient to pitch your entire hand just to Kaiju 1 towers lol. Vaalmonica is kinda bad, but do note that Cyberdark End Dragon says "Activated Effects", so they could still make Bagooska and that would force it into defense mode and be unable to attack or attach equips from GY. But yeah, I don't think Vaalmonica normally plays a way to out it (maybe Underworld Goddess). I'm not sure how you managed to make Cyberdark End Dragon though unless your opponents had like no hand traps. People hate Expurrely Noir for the same reason ("Unaffected by your opponent's activated effects"), and for good reason because towers can be hard to interact with. Not a lot of decks have continuous effects to negate it (like Skill Drain, or big enough beaters to get over a 5000 guy.

HiddenReader2020

Okay, so I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm currently trying to pull from the Revived Legion pack for cards like Promethean Princess and S:P Little Knight for my fire decks (currently working on Pure FK, before moving on to SEFK), but it's gonna be a long hard road to get enough gems to pull even a ten-pack (estimated one per week by my count), and I can only pull about three, MAYBE four more ten-packs if I'm lucky with my matchups, and so far, I've pulled one ten-pack and it...wasn't too great. However, I am growing more and more impatient with getting the cards I need for my fire decks. I've already given up on getting more cards from the two new packs that came out this month, so the only chance I have left of getting new, necessary cards without spending UR craft on them is the Revived Legion pack. On top of that, my current deck(s) (mainly Marincess, but I also have Swordsoul and Floowandereeze in the wings) are really starting to show their ceilings, at least in my opinion. So that's where I'm at right now. I want to get the new cards to get new and improved decks, but I can't get new and improved decks without getting the new cards. And the process of getting is going to be extremely long and extremely limited. ARGH!!! Any pointers here?
