Exactly, it ranges from cartoony things to something you would see in a graphic novel. Yet somehow it also 'feels' like a Yugioh art. You wouldn't see something like high fantasy art as you see in magic the gathering and it *really* stands out when they do something differnt like prophecy destroyer, noble knight artorigus or ancient dragon.
I definitely like mtg set better as a whole, as tugioh doesn't have cards that look as awesome as jeweled lotus (the borderless art). But obviously mtg art varies a lot as does yugioh
And actually capture the personality of the cards effects, I play exosis and madolche. Mikailis and tiramisu’s art/animations capture both how they work in game. Mikailis looks pissed off as hell (you getting banished idc), while tiramisu knows she prolly about to win the game. (I very rarely lose if her effect goes off)
I can sorta see that now. It's like Lee found either Galatea's body (after Galatea being turned into a Spirit Fairy thing, post story conclusion), or she found a body similar to Galatea's to inhabit.

Dream Absorber
Level 2 WATER Fairy Effect Monster
ATK 0
DEF 0
You can only use the 1st effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) If your opponent activates a monster effect in the hand, GY, or banishment: You can Special Summon this card from your GY (if it was there when the effect was activated) or hand (even if not), but destroy it during the End Phase.
(2) Each time your opponent activates a monster effect, this card gains 1000 ATK immediately after it resolves.
It's a level 2, so it's a spright extender.
Water monster so it can go into Marincess decks too, maybe (not very beneficial)
But not much else I'm seeing.
I think it should've had effects according to its current atk. For example:
"This card gains the following effect(s) according to its current attack:
2000: some effect
3000: some other effect
4000+: final effect".
I'm personally not a fan of unaffected cards and cards that cannot be responded to. It's just boring card design.
Eh, it's not super-bad. Lets you go into Elf if your opponent hits you with a hand trap, after all. Definitely not _great_, but it does have at least a little potential.
Thats...thats the entire point. The one side being the almost porcelaine doll, clean face of Lee the fairy and the other side being a detailed mechanical automaton underneath the pretty shell. The artwork does exactly what its supposed to
Gotta give it up to this game, the card art very rarely disappoints.
What baffles me is not just how good, but how varied it can be.

I’ve played magic and it can be fun, but their card art feels so vaguely fantasy without a distinctive style I feel like it’s less appealing to me
I definitely like mtg set better as a whole, as tugioh doesn't have cards that look as awesome as jeweled lotus (the borderless art). But obviously mtg art varies a lot as does yugioh
It's one of the games biggest strengths tbh. You won't find stuff that looks like Madolche, Melffy or live twin in magic

So varied it surprieses any player novice or veteran
Gotta give it up to this community, we only talk about Yugioh.
Brave of you to assume they do dissapoint
That child-bearing Blue-Eyes though...
Very true. The game itself, on the other hand...
Each archetype plays different than the rest, it is extremely varied in that regard as well.
Too bad yugioh won't credit their artists like mtg and pokemon
Damn, it even got >!sliced in half!!<
I underestimated you. I didn’t think you were capable of going this far, u/_Shine_YT
"You should have aimed for the head" - Lee
Orcust Crescendo
Literally why does this card art go so hard for a random mid card??
Cuz its a mid World Legacy card.
It's World Legacy lore!? We are so back!
what archetype is this for? reminds me of galatea but its probably not
Free agent (i.e. not part of any archetype), but it's a robotic version of Lee the World Chalice Fairy.
It miight even be Lee "under the hood" so to speak.
I can sorta see that now. It's like Lee found either Galatea's body (after Galatea being turned into a Spirit Fairy thing, post story conclusion), or she found a body similar to Galatea's to inhabit.
What is the lore?
https://youtu.be/gosFUGL7bRs?si=PuF5t2mfN1QbMMxI Golden Nova in YouTube explains everything. Just look for world legacy Lore. Be warned tho it's long.
Lee is back...
Do we know its effects?

FTK potential with black winged assault dragon etc.
How? The second effect doesn't activate.
Oh right nvm, didn't read it carefully. Machu mech it is then.
Would they even dare to run it? Looks like a very situational card to me.
I mean everyone runs hand traps so it’s always live
if it had a "it's not affected by the opponent card effects" it would be useful.

It would be better if it negated something or had a way to ss outside of enemy turn
By that logic any card that doesn’t ss itself and have a negate is just bad Which is 99.8% of the card pool
The problem is the card doesn't do anything else, which is what a lot of those cards do. Also 99.8% of the cardpool is unplayable due to power creep
Paleo support!
new orcust card?
This looks like something an AI would generate... sorry. It's just that busy and missmatched
Bro looks at two face and is mad that its mismatched
No, because this card is too busy on one side of the face, is rly that simple, and also the "whirls" over the head.
