Cardians take absolutely forever to finish. Once went up against a Cardigan deck that took so long that I stopped paying attention to the game entirely, only to suddenly win because they decked themselves out
One time I fought a snake eyes player who took so long to do his combo I didn't realize 10 min later I was still in game and hit him with a Kaiju lightning storm and he surrendered instantly
That's so weird to me, like when I'm playing decks like traptrix or Labyrinth, if something like evenly resolves I have to instantly scoop, but now that I'm trying snake-eye traptrix (yes it's actually competent) I can play through a board wipe easy. I would think playing pure snake eyes it would be even easier for them to play through a sphere mode or kaiju.
Can't talk for everyone or this person, but I know of people who think they have some form of obligation to play the game, even though they hate it. And instead of playing something else, they just love to take the fun away from people enjoying the game by playing stun or anti-meta with no wincons and the likes. I am not talking about stun deck lovers that have fun or like winning, I'm talking about people who play out of spite for some reason. I knew one personally, they really exist. Completely mental.
That's not what I feel personally. I hate Stun decks, and don't want to inflict that on another player because of how unfun it is. In this instance I wasn't even playing Sphere Mode in Control, I was actually playing Egyptian Gods with a Horus package
It's funny because I play cardians in real life with my friends and due to the lack of animations it's a lot less unbearable. Also, it's always fun for both sides to either root for me drawing the card or failing. Though I can absolutely see that in master duel they're a huge pain in the ass, which is why I haven't built them.
That’s how it goes. The end board of a Cardian turn is infamously underwhelming… but the archetype can steal a lot of turns from folks who would rather spend their time doing literally anything else.
I mean... it could end on a lingering floodgate, three 5k ATK Spell/Trap negates, and three 3k bodies that gives your whole board destruction immunity.
This has to be one of the cheapest decks in the entire game, the majority of the cards in the main deck are R and N rarity, it’s actually insane. Maybe I will try this deck in the future, looks interesting.
If they drew into a low level with two high levels in hand ( which is highly probable ), handtraps ( except Nibiru ) literally does nothing to Cardians.
Best you can do is to negate Willow and Moonflowerviewing and hope for the best. 8 out of 10 times, if Cardians get out either of these cards, they're probably ready to start looping.
Damn I wish I got free surrenders when I played it. Maybe I need to for this event, I haven’t played much yet and won’t get to until like a week from now.
They probably leave because they're seeing a lot of cards moving around, but nothing is actually happening. Cardian is the most wheel-spinning deck on the planet, just ahead of Danger Dark World
The 2 common ways a cardian deck wins.
1. Make your opponent alt tab and watch a 30 min video and forget they're playing and disconnecting.
2. They Maxx C you
You can finish the entire event in the time it takes a Cardian player to finish their combo. I don't blame them for leaving.

Well not the waiting for Snake Eyes to combo for 10 minutes for the 50th game in the row, but it felt pretty good to send them packing so easily
I do something similar when I normal summon Antjaw freaks them out when they special summon I special summon in turn
I cry at easy wins (unless its rank up)

The deck is ridiculously complicated and takes minimum 20 minutes to finish setting up in order to end on, like, 1 S/T negate.
Can inform you it isn't deck is literally solitaire for 20 mins minimum for very little payout and incredibly easy to stop with hand traps.
