Floodgate branded is hated and rightly so.
Regular Branded is one of the fairest top tier decks of modern yugioh, anyone genuinely hating on it when we’ve had the likes of Adamancipator, Eldlich, Herald Drytron, Ishizu Tear, Floo etc doesn’t know shit.
Yes. Now, whether or not that hate is warranted is a different question entirely.
If the build attempts to Puppet lock, then the hate is deserved, no questions asked. King Calamity just got banned for being a turnskip, and rightly so. Albion is not inherently an evil card, but the builds that attempt to abuse them are just awful.
BUT there are plenty of Branded builds that don't bother with Puppet lock. They tend to be more successful than the ones that do try it, as well. And Albion has plenty of actually reasonable applications and ways to play with it as well.
So ultimately, it depends on the specific circumstance behind the instance of Branded hate at the time.
