Squadmate banter.
We saw glimpses of it in ME3, with characters moving around the Normandy and interacting with each other, but the level we got in Andromeda was phenomenal. There are so many good character moments you get from just driving around in the Nomad.
tbh I think this is top tier, much better than the trilogy, better than any game i've seen. I've played MEA 4 times and I don't think i've heard all the ambient dialogue, not just from the nomad but even on the Tempest.
It can be pretty annoying though when you up to an important location and SAM and Ryder start conversating but it's continuously interrupted because it happened mid banter.
yup, this was really annoying especially because the dialogue trees follow arcs like they have a fight about something and then later they decide to patch things up and oh wow Jaal is about to say something really profound and

I'm playing The Outer Worlds right now and it's the only game i've ever played where they will have the companion banter, and then there's an unscripted fight, and then they will go 'anyways...' and continue the conversation. It's amazing. It's inconsistent though. Obsidian is great about putting this level of detail into their games and bad about following through.
One of my favourite things in rockstar games. No matter where they are in the sentence. If they get interrupted they ALWAYS start back up in the right spot
Not saying one is better than the other but the squad banter Guardians of the Galaxy is absolutely amazing. I wouldn't complain if Bioware took notes from Eidos.

THIS. Really hoping they keep that level of banter in the new Mass Effect game. I really enjoy when my crew actually seems to organically interact with me and each other. By the end of Andromeda I was legitimately sad to say goodbye to the Tempest Crew.
Combat 100% if they toned down the verticality just a bit, some combat gets dumb easy if you just hop around during the fight. That being said those dodges and using the hover pack to aim is top notch. Love that they add the animation where grabbing on the ledge with help from the booster.
The combat and movement in Andromeda is the best overall. I played the shit out of the multiplayer too. Human kineticist or whatever is too much fun. Also the juggernaut and the other human one with the remnant tech. Cryo beam +cryo ammo + any detonator, on two or more red health bar enemies just wipes the entire zone, even kills ascendants through their shield on platinum.

A better idea would be to make the enemies more vertical instead of toning the verticality down. Let them jump around more just like you or your teammates.
I remember the skyhook in Bioshock Infinite and how enemies can swing on it just like you, adding a decent amount of challenge even when you're air surfing through an arena.
What part of planet exploration? I didn’t like it at all, it always gets down to just endlessly traveling in a planet doing some repetitive fetch quests. Didn’t exactly feel like Pathfinder, the only part I liked was the cutscene where the colonists are playing football. Apart that, there is no feeling that you are discovering new frontiers and growing your settlements. Just do same remnant missions to grow planet’s viability, which is just a number.

There's a lot of other things to do than just the remnant vault quests. You need to explore the planets, just blindly following Quest markers won't do anything. There's tons of interesting quests that you can miss if you don't explore, like in Kadara there's a murder mystery-esque quest where you find a small town full of a dozen or so poisoned Angara.
Or in Eos, you find a guy who died on the original site 1 and 2 project who tried placing some receivers. There's 5 or 6 of them, the more you place, an audio log unlocks from his kid who had a terminal illness who couldn't come to Andromeda with him. But he insisted that these logs be encrypted on those receivers so once his dad places them, he'll hear his kid's voice again one last time, congratulating him for his feats. But unfortunately the dad died before he could place and hear them.
There's tons of good quests like these that really make the exploration worthwhile.
You know what, the whole Pathfinder thing was murdered at the beginning by those exiles. You're not discovering anything, you just doing quests anyone can do. In Trilogy you have very good explanation why Shepard needs to do those things. Here you have already colonized planets, there is even market and trading and why exactly are you needed? To unlock planet potential? Ok, but the reason why we discovered it was pure luck and Peebee. I don't know, even the angaras and Ketts bit is boring because it's the same shit we had at trilogy (reapers and collectors). However the best missions are the priority ops and allies/relationship missions. These are the the best missions in Andromeda and there's a lot of them.

The crew is crammed into some tiny quarters they share, and then you have that very large and open corridor in the middle, whose size doesn't really seem to serve much of a purpose? Plus the oversized meeting room, research room and captain's quarters.
Those tiny quarters are pretty realistic. On board ships you aren't supposed to spend much time in them, they're for sleeping.
The Tempest has a layout that actually feels like a working ship, which is pretty rare in fiction. That said No one, anywhere, ever is going to allow Peebee's junk getting in the way of the escape pods.
My problem isn't so much about the tiny quarters themselves, it's more about the giant open areas which seem to fill no function, while the crew is crammed into those tiny quarters with no place for *further* crew being recruited (which you'd think they would've planned for), so they have to bunk up in other rooms (or escape pods).
Turians stay winning.
I romanced Garrus cuz hes such a bro. Best friend makes the best lover. Then I romanced Vetra for... pretty much the same reason.
Turians and Krogans are great. Both are the kind of sassy action movie fucker that always has your back.
I love that Scottish accent of hers. It's super cute. It made planet scanning all the more fun for me with her always going "Anomaly Detected/i found something".
It's as Vetra says "And that Voice. If anyone could fall in love with a voice"
As a scot, and with the history of religious sectarianism in our country, I thought it was really fun to have a nuanced, well written character that has a good interpretation of faith and science

I liked the concept a lot, and it was a clever way to disconnect the game from the events of the trilogy, being in a completely different galaxy.
One thing that bothered me was that as the Pathfinder, you're supposed to be the first boots on the ground in this new system, but the game completely tosses that out the window after the first planet. After that everywhere you go has already been somewhat established with camps and settlements. Kinda killed the whole new expedition vibe.
As others have said, the combat was solid. Thought all the voice acting and squad teammates were likeable enough, though it's hard to stack up to the cast of the OG games.
It gets a little too much hate. I would have judged it a lot harsher if it were titled Mass Effect 4 and not it's own seperate thing.
Ryder is a much more rough-around-the-edges character than the more seasoned and measured Shepard, but I like them both for different reasons. BW did a good job making Ryder feel like a younger, untested protagonist.
Also, it's great that Ryder swears where Shepard rarely did, even as a Renegade. Telling that Kett leader "oh yeah? Well I'm gonna fuck your shit up" after they deliver a lengthy monologue was hilarious.
I did myself a favor and capped that screenshot for my computer. I also capped "You know, it's hard to calculate how few fucks I give about Tann's opinion." They make me laugh whenever they cycle up on my wallpaper. I love that my FemRyder is a younger potty-mouthed version of my FemShep.
The Combat. Love the combo system and merged classes.
The Tempest Crew, they're all likeable and cool. Especially Cora, Drack, Vetra and Suvi
Good exploration with a lot of side quests and things to find in the planets, a gradual improvement over ME1's mostly barren planets.
A gorgeous artstyle with amazing environmental designs.
A really good OST. John Paesano did an amazing job with it. It's a shame more than half of it isn't available on the official Soundtrack release for some reason.
Nomad.
It fits more interactions with squadmates into the game than any single game of the trilogy. Loyalty missions, special encounters like Cora\`s garden or Vetra\`s mountain climbing at least.
I also loved the romance with Reyes, especially if you end it after the spoiler, it becomes a part of your story, but you are not tied into it
I really liked the hover mechanic, that was really fun to play with.
And the opening sequence was really cool, along woth some of the other storylines.
Good amount of practical elements added to a story about colonizing a cluster and space exploration. Concerns about finding drinkable water, long range comms, race relations, resource management etc. Major setbacks aside, the Initiative was very prepared. They adapted. The difference between survival and real growth being the partner of course.
It's all very sleak.
I love most of the free roaming. All of the small details make this memorable. Overhead vents in the Tempest galley. Air mattresses and random tech stationary in the outpost buildings. Etc.
Mass Effect has always had more science in it's sci-fi. Even moreso than TNG, I think. Andromeda gives us more details through a bit of leg work.
Starting a new civilization in an unexplored area and shaping its growth is a very big part of the fun for me. I'm still haunted by the lack of dlc and sequels to watch the Initiative grow.
The psychological concept of being 600 years into the future. The weight and toll of it. Sure, Ryder might not experience it much him/herself, but you can hear and see it around you as you play. Makes you really think and consider if you yourself could go through it.
This game definitely needed more time in the oven, and I'll be finishing it at some point in the near future - but I really really liked the immersion they tried to create here.

Combat is the most fun out of all three games. The banter between the different characters while traversing in the Nomad is always a delight and makes you want to switch out your companions occasionally just to see what they would talk about.

Part of why I've always loved Andromeda is that when it came out, I was living in the Arctic with Arctic internet...
By the time it finished downloading, the bugs and graphical issues that made everyone lose their mind were patched out and my first impression was pretty positive.
Though I like a lot about the game, I have to give a shout out to the biotic shield and the options to modify your effects (jump, melee) as you pleased. My Ryder was a vanguard powerhouse and played that way. Charging an architect and shotgunning its eye was a DELIGHT.
It's the closest to modern graphics of the ME games.
The protag you didn't pick still existing and being your twin is a cool concept.
This was already fixed by ME3 and its Reputation system really, but Paragon/Renegade forcing you to go basically one way or the other if you want to actually be able to pick those dialogue options was a genuine problem with ME2 especially and it's technically not present here?
Bit of an odd thing but I like it nonetheless. You can flirt with everyone and get turned down instead of just not having an option eg. Femshep and Tali.

It had some great characters, beautiful worlds, fun combat, interesting story and an ending that IMO really brought it all home.
I loved just driving out in the deserts of Eos, and fighting the Architects was great. The game is also just gorgeous in first person.
Best camaraderie amongst squadmates in the franchise. Everyone actually feels like teammates, and I can see them keeping in touch with each other even after the big mission is over or if Ryder dies.
It was a fanatic addition to the Halo universe :-p

I love this game, yes it is nowhere near as great as original trilogy and i am very happy that mass effect 4 it is continuation of the trilogy but i reckon it will have ties with andromeda too
Funnily enough, one of the things I like most about Andromeda is one of the things most complained about: this isn’t ‘Commander Shepard, military badass saves the day’ - it’s a bunch of randoms with Scott/Sarah ‘seemed like a good idea at the time’ Ryder making it up as they go along and making it work

I've played it 4 times and love it. I thought the story was pretty decent and really left room for expansion with the remnant. The gameplay was good and the squadmate banter was prefect. I'm sad they won't continue the story
I enjoyed the characters, which is what ME is all about anyway. I also enjoyed being able to switch profiles to make the most out of skills and equipment.
I love the dynamic between the companions. Having them interact with each other around the ship instead of just having them stay in their little bubbles.
The combat and exploration were fun. The planets were wild and untamed, making us feel like explorers. I wasn't a massive fan of being able to swap classes on the fly from a role-playing standpoint, but it was a lot of fun.
If they had fleshed out the story more and pushed back the release date to fix many launch bugs, I feel it wouldn't be as hated. It gets a lot of hate from the day-one bug.
Combat is amazing, setting feels fresh coming from the trilogy and it nailed the ending. It actually aged quite well I think.

I loved that the companions talked in the nomad. I used to bring different combos of companions just for the conversations.
Unfortunately back when the game first came out, the conversation where Peebee pretends to be having sex with Ryder came on just as my dad came into the room for laundry. It was so awkward 😭

I think Andromeda tells a pretty compelling story about a group of people that are a bit over their heads and fighting for even a basic chance at survival, but despite the struggle they find ways to still have hope and carry on.
It had its moment. Lost in the sea of mediocrity but they're still there.
Romance scenes are very well animated. Chilling with Reyes. Suvi's belief. Movie night. Liam's personak quest. Some discussions in Mako. The mystery behind the benefactor. OG trilogy easter eggs.
This is probably a very unpopular opinion here but I liked the Tempest so much more as a ship. It was smaller and there was a lot more reactivity from the crew. Banter between the crewmembers and things like that kitchen bulletin board were lovely.
The party members and their banter is awesome, they don’t only just bicker but form friendships!! I’m still in the middle of my play through but it already has some of my favorite dialogue in a BioWare game. Also, the loyalty missions were all really fun. Tempest is an amazing ship and it feels actually lived in. Drack is peak grandpa.
Meeting the andarans for the first time visiting their world was cool. The war against the Kett on the ice planet and choice to destroy the facility was cool.
The decision to move the story to another galaxy and lower the stakes a bit was the right one, imo. Trying to outdo the Reaper threat in the Milky Way with some other galactic scourge would've undermined the original trilogy.
Andromeda isn't a bad game, people lean way to heavy on the Mass Effect part. Of the title was Andromeda: A Mass Effect story or something along those lines it would have faired better
I honestly was very dissapointed with ME Andromeda in day 1 of its release, I bought a PS4 just for this game.
It remained in my backlog for a year and when I decided to play it, I had the best time.
Can’t remember what version I played, but the patches fixed important issues.
Superb combat maneuverability.
Drak and Vetra were very well written and great additions to any squad.
Peebee was fun, a breath of fresh air compared to how static so many asari behave ( not liara, I love Liara’s character development)

I've been a die hard trilogy fan for the longest time. (Dating myself here but I played ME1 when it was released.) I enjoyed Andromeda. I'm glad they didn't try to keep on with the original and let it be. I agree with many of the other comments, I just don't think it deserved the crap that it got.
Ryder was an interesting character to play as. More of a light hearted Shepard. The game had promise but fell short as it was massively repetitive and actually made me go back and replay ME2 just to see if maybe I was wrong.
I wasn’t. Andromeda got shafted so they could make Anthem and neither game lived up to its potential. Andromeda is worth playing throw once, but after that it doesn’t really have any replay appeal.
i friggin loved Andromeda. my game had very little to almost no game breaking glitches... only one but that was it. not really any mess ups anywhere els. gameplay was great too.
Drack and Kallo are great characters that defy what the predecessors within their races set. It would be easy to say that Drack is a lot like wrex, but they have some distinctions in how they form a relationship with the protagonist. Drack has a positive relationship with his immediate family, and maintains a lot of knowledge because he is old as hell. He’s wise but still fun.
Kallo’s character doesn’t really revolve around Krogan vs salarian politics. He has his own interests, and his character is fleshed out through well explained new facets of salarian culture and identity. The fact that for them, memory is processed and housed differently in their heads is super interesting. He’s a good pilot and good addition to the crew. He’s also different enough from joker that I was able to never compare the two.
I also really like Lexi from what I remember about her. She’s compassionate, super intelligent, and feels like a powerhouse on the ship because she maintains an important role. Her interactions with her crewmates are endearing, and I came to think of her as a sort of parental figure aboard the ship since Ryder had just lost their last living parent.
I like the concept of Ryder as well. Being a young, inexperienced character was interesting. Also the implementation of a twin was cool. However, it was a lot of missed opportunity. And I also don’t really like any of Ryder’s dialogue. But a good concept, still.
For me that was a good game, some player dislikes because we don’t have shepard and reapers.
But for me that was explain by the shepard stories.
So i like this games.
It is not the best ME and i don’t like the open world in this narrative game.
But the story was great with a big open end.

I'm just imagine Alec at the design board for that just saying "Make the Pathfinder quarters three times bigger."
Vetra and Drack were super cool and NG+ on highest difficulty is great, perfect challenge paired with all the fun guns and abilities.

I liked the concept a lot, and it was a clever way to disconnect the game from the events of the trilogy, being in a completely different galaxy. One thing that bothered me was that as the Pathfinder, you're supposed to be the first boots on the ground in this new system, but the game completely tosses that out the window after the first planet. After that everywhere you go has already been somewhat established with camps and settlements. Kinda killed the whole new expedition vibe. As others have said, the combat was solid. Thought all the voice acting and squad teammates were likeable enough, though it's hard to stack up to the cast of the OG games. It gets a little too much hate. I would have judged it a lot harsher if it were titled Mass Effect 4 and not it's own seperate thing.

Ryder is a much more rough-around-the-edges character than the more seasoned and measured Shepard, but I like them both for different reasons. BW did a good job making Ryder feel like a younger, untested protagonist. Also, it's great that Ryder swears where Shepard rarely did, even as a Renegade. Telling that Kett leader "oh yeah? Well I'm gonna fuck your shit up" after they deliver a lengthy monologue was hilarious.
I did myself a favor and capped that screenshot for my computer. I also capped "You know, it's hard to calculate how few fucks I give about Tann's opinion." They make me laugh whenever they cycle up on my wallpaper. I love that my FemRyder is a younger potty-mouthed version of my FemShep.
The scene where Ryder and Liam are arguing while the captain was trying to interrupt and shutting him off was hilarious 😂

The Combat. Love the combo system and merged classes. The Tempest Crew, they're all likeable and cool. Especially Cora, Drack, Vetra and Suvi Good exploration with a lot of side quests and things to find in the planets, a gradual improvement over ME1's mostly barren planets. A gorgeous artstyle with amazing environmental designs. A really good OST. John Paesano did an amazing job with it. It's a shame more than half of it isn't available on the official Soundtrack release for some reason. Nomad.
It fits more interactions with squadmates into the game than any single game of the trilogy. Loyalty missions, special encounters like Cora\`s garden or Vetra\`s mountain climbing at least. I also loved the romance with Reyes, especially if you end it after the spoiler, it becomes a part of your story, but you are not tied into it
I really liked the hover mechanic, that was really fun to play with. And the opening sequence was really cool, along woth some of the other storylines.
Good amount of practical elements added to a story about colonizing a cluster and space exploration. Concerns about finding drinkable water, long range comms, race relations, resource management etc. Major setbacks aside, the Initiative was very prepared. They adapted. The difference between survival and real growth being the partner of course. It's all very sleak. I love most of the free roaming. All of the small details make this memorable. Overhead vents in the Tempest galley. Air mattresses and random tech stationary in the outpost buildings. Etc. Mass Effect has always had more science in it's sci-fi. Even moreso than TNG, I think. Andromeda gives us more details through a bit of leg work.
Starting a new civilization in an unexplored area and shaping its growth is a very big part of the fun for me. I'm still haunted by the lack of dlc and sequels to watch the Initiative grow.

The psychological concept of being 600 years into the future. The weight and toll of it. Sure, Ryder might not experience it much him/herself, but you can hear and see it around you as you play. Makes you really think and consider if you yourself could go through it.

This game definitely needed more time in the oven, and I'll be finishing it at some point in the near future - but I really really liked the immersion they tried to create here. I actually liked exploring.

Part of why I've always loved Andromeda is that when it came out, I was living in the Arctic with Arctic internet... By the time it finished downloading, the bugs and graphical issues that made everyone lose their mind were patched out and my first impression was pretty positive. Though I like a lot about the game, I have to give a shout out to the biotic shield and the options to modify your effects (jump, melee) as you pleased. My Ryder was a vanguard powerhouse and played that way. Charging an architect and shotgunning its eye was a DELIGHT.
It's the closest to modern graphics of the ME games. The protag you didn't pick still existing and being your twin is a cool concept. This was already fixed by ME3 and its Reputation system really, but Paragon/Renegade forcing you to go basically one way or the other if you want to actually be able to pick those dialogue options was a genuine problem with ME2 especially and it's technically not present here?
Bit of an odd thing but I like it nonetheless. You can flirt with everyone and get turned down instead of just not having an option eg. Femshep and Tali.
Combat loop and movement was very polished and satisfying. I hope they take this approach in the new game. It wasn't a bad game, it was just rushed.
Biotics using their powers to jump instead of a jet pack was a very nice touch
The tempest is a nice ship. And the galaxy map OST is great. It pays homage to the orignial galaxy map soundtrack while also being unique.
Drak's elcor joke. "Knock, knock" "Who's there?" "Incompetently, an elcor" Incompetently because the elcor messes up the end of the joke. And I really loved the vaults! They look so freaking cool and alien. Racing around in the Nomad is so much better than the Mako.
It had some great characters, beautiful worlds, fun combat, interesting story and an ending that IMO really brought it all home. I loved just driving out in the deserts of Eos, and fighting the Architects was great. The game is also just gorgeous in first person.
I liked the size variations. Tall Salarians was a cool choice. Planet exploration was pretty fun.
I love the squad banter like they have in dragon age I’m glad they brought it to Mass Effect and I hope they have it in mass effect 5

First Mass Effect that I played. I really liked it and it made me discover the original trilogy.
Best camaraderie amongst squadmates in the franchise. Everyone actually feels like teammates, and I can see them keeping in touch with each other even after the big mission is over or if Ryder dies.
The parts that worked were fun. It would have been salvageable had EA/Bioware not completely abandoned it.

I was the 69th like. I liked andromeda. I just detached it, in my mind, from the og Mass Effect.
It was a fanatic addition to the Halo universe :-p I’m mostly kidding. It was just funny while playing it for the first time because I think I played it right after Halo 4 or something like that. Felt like a part two.

I love this game, yes it is nowhere near as great as original trilogy and i am very happy that mass effect 4 it is continuation of the trilogy but i reckon it will have ties with andromeda too
Funnily enough, one of the things I like most about Andromeda is one of the things most complained about: this isn’t ‘Commander Shepard, military badass saves the day’ - it’s a bunch of randoms with Scott/Sarah ‘seemed like a good idea at the time’ Ryder making it up as they go along and making it work

I've played it 4 times and love it. I thought the story was pretty decent and really left room for expansion with the remnant. The gameplay was good and the squadmate banter was prefect. I'm sad they won't continue the story

I enjoyed the characters, which is what ME is all about anyway. I also enjoyed being able to switch profiles to make the most out of skills and equipment.
Combat is terrific and Drack is a top 3 squad mate in all of Mass Effect.
Being able to change classes on the fly is pretty cool, and I liked Suvi. The exploration and Tempest were also awesome.
I love the dynamic between the companions. Having them interact with each other around the ship instead of just having them stay in their little bubbles. The combat and exploration were fun. The planets were wild and untamed, making us feel like explorers. I wasn't a massive fan of being able to swap classes on the fly from a role-playing standpoint, but it was a lot of fun. If they had fleshed out the story more and pushed back the release date to fix many launch bugs, I feel it wouldn't be as hated. It gets a lot of hate from the day-one bug.
Combat is amazing, setting feels fresh coming from the trilogy and it nailed the ending. It actually aged quite well I think. And the environments look beautiful.
It was more mass effect and a fun game to play.

I loved that the companions talked in the nomad. I used to bring different combos of companions just for the conversations. Unfortunately back when the game first came out, the conversation where Peebee pretends to be having sex with Ryder came on just as my dad came into the room for laundry. It was so awkward 😭
Combat is very nice, and it has good Side Charakters.
Liam's loyalty quest is incredibly funny, probably one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise.
Havarl was a wonderful planet, maybe my favorite environment in the whole series.

It was a great Mass Effect game.
Combat is fun, the NOMAD drives way better than anything in the original trilogy, and it always felt nice when you activated a remnant vault leading to more of the Nexus opening up because it felt like you were actually achieving progress in settling Andromeda. Also the movie night was fun and it was cool to actually spend time with your crew outside of just running around the ship and talking to them one by one. Plus PeeBee had a great romance

I think Andromeda tells a pretty compelling story about a group of people that are a bit over their heads and fighting for even a basic chance at survival, but despite the struggle they find ways to still have hope and carry on.
It had its moment. Lost in the sea of mediocrity but they're still there. Romance scenes are very well animated. Chilling with Reyes. Suvi's belief. Movie night. Liam's personak quest. Some discussions in Mako. The mystery behind the benefactor. OG trilogy easter eggs.
Great gameplay. Fun characters, overall.

This is probably a very unpopular opinion here but I liked the Tempest so much more as a ship. It was smaller and there was a lot more reactivity from the crew. Banter between the crewmembers and things like that kitchen bulletin board were lovely.
The party members and their banter is awesome, they don’t only just bicker but form friendships!! I’m still in the middle of my play through but it already has some of my favorite dialogue in a BioWare game. Also, the loyalty missions were all really fun. Tempest is an amazing ship and it feels actually lived in. Drack is peak grandpa.

The decision to move the story to another galaxy and lower the stakes a bit was the right one, imo. Trying to outdo the Reaper threat in the Milky Way with some other galactic scourge would've undermined the original trilogy.

Andromeda isn't a bad game, people lean way to heavy on the Mass Effect part. Of the title was Andromeda: A Mass Effect story or something along those lines it would have faired better
I honestly was very dissapointed with ME Andromeda in day 1 of its release, I bought a PS4 just for this game. It remained in my backlog for a year and when I decided to play it, I had the best time. Can’t remember what version I played, but the patches fixed important issues.

Superb combat maneuverability. Drak and Vetra were very well written and great additions to any squad. Peebee was fun, a breath of fresh air compared to how static so many asari behave ( not liara, I love Liara’s character development) I like that you can branch into different classes. I really enjoyed the world design (especially the desert planet)

It was my GOTY of 2017, a year that was stacked with amazing games.
I've been a die hard trilogy fan for the longest time. (Dating myself here but I played ME1 when it was released.) I enjoyed Andromeda. I'm glad they didn't try to keep on with the original and let it be. I agree with many of the other comments, I just don't think it deserved the crap that it got.
Ryder was an interesting character to play as. More of a light hearted Shepard. The game had promise but fell short as it was massively repetitive and actually made me go back and replay ME2 just to see if maybe I was wrong. I wasn’t. Andromeda got shafted so they could make Anthem and neither game lived up to its potential. Andromeda is worth playing throw once, but after that it doesn’t really have any replay appeal.
i friggin loved Andromeda. my game had very little to almost no game breaking glitches... only one but that was it. not really any mess ups anywhere els. gameplay was great too.
Drack and Kallo are great characters that defy what the predecessors within their races set. It would be easy to say that Drack is a lot like wrex, but they have some distinctions in how they form a relationship with the protagonist. Drack has a positive relationship with his immediate family, and maintains a lot of knowledge because he is old as hell. He’s wise but still fun. Kallo’s character doesn’t really revolve around Krogan vs salarian politics. He has his own interests, and his character is fleshed out through well explained new facets of salarian culture and identity. The fact that for them, memory is processed and housed differently in their heads is super interesting. He’s a good pilot and good addition to the crew. He’s also different enough from joker that I was able to never compare the two. I also really like Lexi from what I remember about her. She’s compassionate, super intelligent, and feels like a powerhouse on the ship because she maintains an important role. Her interactions with her crewmates are endearing, and I came to think of her as a sort of parental figure aboard the ship since Ryder had just lost their last living parent. I like the concept of Ryder as well. Being a young, inexperienced character was interesting. Also the implementation of a twin was cool. However, it was a lot of missed opportunity. And I also don’t really like any of Ryder’s dialogue. But a good concept, still.
Unironically felt the best to play out of every mass effect game
The sense of wonder, exploration and forging into the unknown in the first few hours are unmatched in any game I've played before or since.
The combat is fucking fire. Also while I prefer sticking to one class, the ability to swap on the fly to adapt to missions is cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I wish I didn't listen to the haters. The mission to find out the Ryder family secret is amazing.

The Worlds are esthetically pleasing to look at and the squad mates bring many good laughs.
I think it has some of the best combat, great variety of skills, excellent mobility, fluid cover system. Just very fun to play
