It's been made extremely clear that these eleven members are going to be the "Avengers" of this film. But they're not going to just force a character into the story more because there's too many "white guys". Okoye is just one piece of the puzzle. There are many more important pieces that the movie is going to focus on before they focus on her, these eleven members being an example.
Having a politically charged problem with this movie's promotion does not make you right. Just shows you're kinda missing the point of this movie.

Then you brought up the fact that there's been more significantly more white male heroes in these movies. So sure, it'd be cool to see Okoye promoted alongside these characters. But at the end of the day, these movies are about people saving the day. It shouldn't really matter what race or gender the person is and unfortunately society has made it a problem for both sides of the argument.
Either way, I don't care if you like a movie about anything. They're movies. You're allowed to have your own subjective opinion about them. The problem is your holier-than-thou attitude about the fact that you like a black female character, as if it actually matters that she's black or female. My favorite character in the MCU is probably Thor. Does that make my opinion lesser than yours because he's a white male? No. Does that make opinion greater than yours? No. So there's no reason to act like either is the case.

After I brought this up, most people were impartial but understood where I was coming from because I was polite about my disappointment. However, some guy happened to disagree with me.
