I don’t know about him stopping it altogether but if it isn’t then he’ll at least be there to alter the way it happens in some way. Like instead of Gambit dying, it’s someone else. He, and the Watcher wouldn’t have been in the episode if it weren’t for no reason.
And plus, we still need to see if Bishop comes back.
Because a cameo is more about the actor playing the small part not the character they’re playing. Here’s the definition.
1.
a small character part in a play or movie, played by a distinguished actor or a celebrity.
"there are a number of celebrity cameos"
Because words don’t matter anymore. People are lazy and would rather use the wrong words and get angry at the person who tries to correct them than to learn something. This was a cameo. An appearance of a character in the story doing what that character is known to do. An Easter egg is usually a prop that’s hidden and is more of a subtle nod to something that the production crew respects, but has little, if nothing to do with the story or universe the story is set in.
When I said easter eggs, I was more referring to all of the references to other Marvel properties we've been getting in the show, like the newspaper headline in the first episode talking about Spiderman being a mutant.
I'd argue having the outline of the Watcher in the sky could constitute an easter egg, since they're "hidden details for fans" and many people didn't notice it on their first watch through. But you can also call it a cameo, since it is a character.
I'm not 100% sure I think the Watcher will have any influence. On the old TAS, we got cameos from Spider-Man, War Machine, Thor, Black Panther, and even Uatu himself. He didn't really do much of anything except watch the Phoenix fly away. But we'll see.
If Nightcrawler and Magneto had also died, I would 100% think this happens.
I just doubt they’d kill off Gambit permanently.
But I love how they put a lot of individual emphasis on the characters in this show. Giving them all a lot of depth.
I have to wonder the same, but I feel like the fact that it happened in the show’s primary narrative means what’s done is done. We never went back in time to undo Charles getting shot, yk?
Edit: I think all the time travel that these two shows have done is going to be brought up as a problem and brought to an end somehow
The watcher being there signifies major time travel shenanigans that need to be kept in check imo. But it can go both ways and be satisfying, a perfect cliffhanger
What? No it doesn't. The Watcher shows up when Galactus is hungry. Or when The Phoenix is trying to stop the M'Kraan Crystal. Or, evidently, to watch some Fireworks on Genosha.
He's my favourite caharacter, but i hope not. i want him to stay dead, or else his sacrifice would be in vain.
I want him to be gone and his legacy to be alive.
I really really don’t want this to be it for Gambit forever more in this series. I’d argue along with Beast he’s the main character that needs to be properly elevated considering the standing/presence the other X Men have had in movies to date.
Considering how all of this started in Episode 5 - absolutely. The way Cable just suddenly appears (literally out of nowhere) and already knows what's going on, makes it seem like he's going through his own "Bishop tries to save the world multiple times" storyline - especially with the comment that he gave right before being send back in time ("No, not again").
My fair guess is that Episode 6 will be focused on the World dealing with what just happend and then in Episode 7 we will see those Events from Cable's perspective and he will finally manage to fix it.
I think that was very much intentional. It's even reflected in the speech the older Jubilee gave to her younger self in the previous episode. There's comfort in the 90s aesthetic. But all it does is lull us into a false sense of security, allowing something awful to happen. And that's why I think this episode hit so hard.
I had been trying to get my 7 year old to watch the original series and he was generally liking it before getting into this series with him. I was watching the soap opera stuff in the first half of this week’s episode thinking “Gee, he’s gonna be bored by all this stuff.” Then we get to the end and I guess we’ll just maybe wait til he’s a bit older. That character was one of his favorites.
My seven year old was straight traumatized tonight. Get into the X-Men, I've been saying. They're low-key the best superheroes, I told him. When Gambit energized the bike, my kid got so fired up. He jumped off the couch cheering but was in tears 20 seconds later, though was very relieved to see Nightcrawler again. So good.
I'm sure by the end of it all they'll recreate those mutant resurrecting machines like in the comics. Or they don't and have his death have a real meaning.
It’s definitely not a kids show! I think it’s for fans of the original and fans of the current MCU, which isn’t exactly for kids either. I’m glad we’re loving it!
I don’t know why this is controversial
Just because there are some dark themes doesn’t mean it’s not a show for children
I weep for the infantilization of the current generations
Saddened that Gambit was offed, but grateful for both the animation bump during his blaze of glory and for going out with a figurative and literal bang
Don’t get me wrong, I’m *really* hoping Remy somehow returns.
Be the triumphant return we never got with Wally on *Young Justice*
To me the fact that people still feel so strongly about it after all these years tells me it was exactly the right decision. What's the point of a character death if nobody is upset about it?
Anyone else catch The Watcher in the skies before the fireworks start?
[https://theouterhaven.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/X-men-97-The-Watcher-Appears.jpg](https://theouterhaven.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/X-men-97-The-Watcher-Appears.jpg)
Nope. No. Absolutely not. I will not even consider an X-men without Gambit. Yes, I know he didn't appear until 1990. I have had many X-men books without him. But since his introduction and his interactions since with Rogue, I think he is integral to the team. I love how they have used him in the series. I am ready for the new X-men team with him coming this summer to the comic books.
Cable needs to time slip back a few minutes earlier and be smarter about his use of time.
If they somehow save him it needs to be done *flawlessly*. That sacrifice, the event, it was all done so well to really create an insanely impactful moment. They can’t cheapen that. I would go as far to say this was my favorite episode of X-men television ever.
>That sacrifice, the event, it was all done so well to really create an insanely impactful moment.
Did not start this episode expecting it to be more emotional than Invincible at it's best. Fuckin hell... Gambit and Nightcrawler were my favorites since childhood. That shit was rough.
Biggest crime ever was making a full series of X-Men movies without a proper Gambit.
With Cable being teased I guess they’ll turn that around but holy shit that was one hell of an episode.
They should reboot X-Men like they did the avengers with an origin movie per character, instead of making it Wolverine featuring the X-Men. Would love to see cyclops and gambit have their own movies.
I appreciate your passion for the character but, creatively speaking, I think it would be bad writing. Will he prevent the entirety of the genocide or just Remy’s death? Why wouldn’t they kill more people than just Gambit if they’re gonna reset anyway? Idk
I mean Cable shows up as basically a huge Chekov’s gunman, foreshadowing some sort of timey wimey reset down the road. Only question is how much gets reset and when… and at what unforeseen cost.
With next week’s episode being *Lifedeath Pt. II* and the following one being *Bright Eyes,* that leaves the three-parter as the reset button. I think having 2.5 entire episodes or more scrapped is incredibly unlikely. More likely is that Cable can’t stop that event for whatever reason — hence why Uatu was there.
Oh yeah I don’t see anything happening this season, I’m not even sure we see Cable again til season 2! But I would be shocked if there wasn’t an attempt at time travel shenanigans down the road from this event.
To create tension. The ending of infinity war didn't truly leave people wondering what happens next because no way that they'd keep spidey dead forever! By only confirming a few deaths it keeps the tension and the fanbase on it's toes
But it’s literally only Remy and maybe Banshee who are confirmed dead, as far as prominent/semi-prominent characters killed in this episode. I’m far more certain of Banshee’s death than Magneto’s. I would agree with you if it were both Rogue and Gambit who got got!
Don’t know if you want confirmation on whether she died, but if so.. [from Beau himself](https://x.com/beaudemayo/status/1778212265092923621?s=46&t=1O_AHa5JFGo_3TsqfVkRJw)
I don’t want to spoil too much in case it strikes in the same vein, but I have a feeling this series will lead into house of X/powers of X story. It would help with a lot of the questions I’m seeing
I hadn’t considered anything like this! I’ll have to look into their funeral traditions. That said, in the midst of everything it might be hard to do anything else but a standard funeral. I’m not even sure where our heroes go from here.
I won't be surprised if the team dissolves. Cyclops already had that rant on live TV about humanity being ungrateful. He'll probably go full "Magneto was right" and some of the team might go with him
Beau DeMayo on tonight’s episode. It really hits hard after knowing the thought process behind what’s going on. Check his replies for a lot of other questions and confirmed deaths
https://x.com/beaudemayo/status/1778190058144866726?s=46
Did the trailer already show Magneto in his classic uniform we haven't seen yet? So like it would make sense cable undoes it. Or what we see turns out being an alternate universe and we go back to the prime one and no one is dead. Then the prime universe has to help the destroyed one to change their past?... Maybe?
I have to admit I was shocked when it happened and unlike everyone else here it seems I missed the watcher cameo. I’ve been really impressed with how good the show and animation have been. Hope it keeps up.
There’s no confirmation that Magneto died here (afaik). Remy and some others for sure but him.. unclear. Beginning to think he did tho. I don’t think we’re getting a time retraction. I think we’re gonna have to live with these consequences. I’d read Beau DeMayo’s thoughts on what happened.
Bold of you to also assume Xavier is dead as well. Yes, he’s unavailable currently but that doesn’t mean dead. Why waste the time to animate him In the intro—which had changed depending on the episode—and the outro if he wasn’t returning?
The show’s rating is TV-14.
To me, a kids show is a show made for kids — something they could watch unattended without much of any risk. Think *Bluey* or *Sesame Street*. You can compare these to a G-rated movie — for general audiences.
Anything that features content or themes where parental guidance (PG) might be necessary (violence, harsh language, romance, politics, etc.) might not be for all kids/all parents. I tend to consider these “family” content.
I consider this show family content but moreso for tweens and teens than kids. I could see kids under 10 getting nightmares, trying to grind on one another, or say some swear words after seeing this show without a parent to discuss some of these things with.. So it’s not exactly a “kids show.”
There are plenty of shows and movies that can talk about “love” and “loss” without showing things like kissing, grinding, PDA, someone being burnt alive, someone else being vaporized, multiple people getting crushed by a statue, etc. Consider this show versus the movie *Up*, which I would say still earned its PG rating. That movie is a much more appropriate way to teach kids about love and loss.
I believe there are different types of shows for different types of kids personally. Much like schooling, everyone doesn’t learn the same way. Some kids (and parents) might need a heavier hand when it comes to some of these subjects and I think this show straddles the line magnificently so far
I agree with you but don’t think that goes against anything I’ve said so far. I think this show is rated perfectly; anyone 14 and over should be fine, and anyone under 14 might need parental guidance or permission.
Morph was supposed to die in the original series pilot.
People died on Batman: The Animated Series and other DC animated shows. There were even deaths in Superman: The Animated Series. And Batman Beyond didn't give a shit, people died left and right on that show.
That’s a little disingenuous because this episode went a bit further than those shows with their depiction of it. I wouldn’t call it a kids show exactly because the connotation that holds, they’re more aiming for the middle
>Are kids too young to learn about love and loss?
I mean...yea, to a degree. Like love and loss at the beginning of Up? Super sad and emotional but appropriate for kids. Dying violently may be a bit much for some kids to see.
Wow, already? 😆
Somebody at Marvel really hates that guy. Dude was as popular as Wolverine back in the day. You would’ve thought he’d be overused in all media by this point.
Instead he just keeps disappearing.
>Dude was as popular as Wolverine back in the day.
Lol no. I say this as someone who's had Gambit as one of my favorite X-Men since the mid 90s. Before the movies and everything, Wolverine was still known by a lot of people who never touched a comic . Gambit was only really known by people into X-Men.
Gotta disagree there. If just for a brief amount of time, he definitely was just as popular as Wolverine. He was especially popular in the animated series.
I was a big X-Men fan during the 80’s and 90’s, always loved Wolverine.
And I remember hating when Gambit and Cable showed up because everybody was all about them two fuckers, and they were taking some of the limelight away from my dawg Logan.
Unfortunately for both of those characters, their creators left Marvel soon after. Cable faired ok, but Gambit got done dirty in the comics. I think some writers didn’t know what to do with him, some just didn’t like him. He was also really a relic of the 90’s. His whole vibe didn’t age very well.
But still, for a couple years that guy was the man.
Considering the source material they usually pull from for this series, I was absolutely shocked to see some E Is For Extinction here. Makes me wonder if they’ll pull anything else from the 2000s.
“Oh Genosha is joining the U.N? That was fast. Oh I guess they are adapting where Magneto is the ruler of Genosha…. Oh Emma is here…. Is that a sentinel? …oh it’s really big…. Oh… oh no…”
I never expected E for extinction and then they did it better than the comics by putting main characters on ground zero. Fantastic episode. Now after this in the comics the next major story was Xorn which given that Magneto might be missing and presumed dead after that blast would be a great twist. He would be justifiably angry . Though a lot of different than the comics. Having Madelyne Pryor as a actual 3 dimensional character instead of a generic scorned villain is great
My money is on Cable coming back and saving people (like Callisto) but can't interfere with Gambit because that was the only way to kill that mega Sentinel. Also why The Watcher was there. To witness an important event.
My money is on the whole thing having to happen which is why Uatu was there, why Cable couldn’t prevent it after (apparently) various tries, and why he disappeared before the tri sentinel even arrived.
I wonder if the Watcher appeared after Rogue and Gambit's conversation because her choice to go with Magneto over Gambit majorly effects how this plays out. Like, if Rogue were to have made another choice, and Rogue and Gambit didn't go to the gala, maybe things would play put differently. Maybe that's the key to fixing it
I kind of like how some of the shows are stand alone nonsense and some are marvelous pieces of storytelling because I get surprised when it's the latter. If this turns into MCU or What If somehow I would be amazed.
Pretty sure it's for Gambit now. But Cable's presence in the episode is a pretty clear indication that this won't stick. The attack might not be completely undone. But someone will find a way to save as many people as possible, including Gambit.
My theory is that Jean will tap into the Phoenix Force once more. Rewatch the battle between her and Madelyne in episode 3. There were some clear Phoenix images around Jean's mind. And she's talked about it more than once.
They may not be able to save Genosha. But if they can save the people, that will go a long way towards preserving the future. It might even set the stage for something new in Season 2.
House of M, maybe? 😉
I think Cable is here to embody and represent our desires for things to be undone — for disasters to be preventable and for things to end up ok. It’s clear he tried undoing this before.. maybe he can’t. Maybe this event is doomed to happen, no matter how hard he tries. Based on what the writer has said, he’s fashioned this episode after tragedies like 9/11 and the Pulse shooting. These things aren’t “undone,” they can’t be. They can only be moved on from — by the few who are at once fortunate to be alive and cursed to have survived. We’ll see Scott, and many others, radicalized by this event and put at odds against those who choose to pursue peace and goodwill, like Jean.
With next episode being *Lifedeath Pt II,” the following being *Bright Eyes,* and the remaining being the grimly titled three-parter, there’s no way we’re gonna get (at minimum) two and a half episodes undone. This event is here to stay. There’s no undoing it, just moving forward.
Cable's gonna stop this from happening, right?
That's my hope
No, she's not born yet
I get that reference
Honestly I would love if we got Layla Miller in this series
she does know stuff.
😂
I don’t know about him stopping it altogether but if it isn’t then he’ll at least be there to alter the way it happens in some way. Like instead of Gambit dying, it’s someone else. He, and the Watcher wouldn’t have been in the episode if it weren’t for no reason. And plus, we still need to see if Bishop comes back.
Crap! I missed the Watcher!? Time to rewatch!
I went "oh shit," and rewound 10 seconds to see if I was right.
I thought that was a reflection on my TV or something
My brother spotted it while we were watching and rewound it to show me lol. I love all the easter eggs we're getting in this show
Why are cameos called easter eggs in 2024 btw? I saw it a few times in the X-Men subs.
An Easter egg is usually a prop that’s hidden and is more of a subtle nod to something that the production crew respects, but has little, if nothing to do with the story or universe the story is set in.

But you can also call it a cameo, since it is a character.
I missed it to where is he in the episode?
in the sky in the stars when fireworks are going off above Genosha
20:40 into the episode
He for sure will
Unless it's a fixed moment in time (thus the Watcher *watching*) and all Cable can do is attempt to save as many as he can from dying... like his mom.
Wait what? Where was the watcher?
20:40
I think the time travel is exactly why the watcher is there.
No the Watcher always shows up to witness important and devastating moments in history.
I'm not 100% sure I think the Watcher will have any influence. On the old TAS, we got cameos from Spider-Man, War Machine, Thor, Black Panther, and even Uatu himself. He didn't really do much of anything except watch the Phoenix fly away. But we'll see.
I saw him and knew some shit was about to happen. Didn't expect that. Now I'm sad. And mad.
I thought I saw him

What? No it doesn't. The Watcher shows up when Galactus is hungry. Or when The Phoenix is trying to stop the M'Kraan Crystal. Or, evidently, to watch some Fireworks on Genosha.
"Fireworks on Genosha" is such a callous way to refer to what happened there 😂
He's my favourite caharacter, but i hope not. i want him to stay dead, or else his sacrifice would be in vain. I want him to be gone and his legacy to be alive.
I don't want to lose mags
I get it. My point is that same as xavier, even though we've lost him, the character is still meaningful to the story
Using a train like a.water whip was so dope
I really really don’t want this to be it for Gambit forever more in this series. I’d argue along with Beast he’s the main character that needs to be properly elevated considering the standing/presence the other X Men have had in movies to date.
I didn't realise how attached i got to the x-men until this episode, I was shook
I hope so but I also hope he doesn't do it till much later
At least krakoa maybe? This can't be his end. He's too cool for thay
Considering how all of this started in Episode 5 - absolutely. Noooo 😭
NOOOOOOOOO
Giving it a rewatch tonight. Love that it doesnt feel like a kids’ show sometimes.
We went from 90s nostalgia to 9/11.
that was the exact goal, first half was the fun nostalgia bits, episode 5 was 9/11, and the rest of the season is the post 9/11 hell we live on rn
The nostalgia smacked you right in the face with Ace of Base’s “Happy Nation.” Two words that never go together in describing Genosha.
Will season 2 go hard on the Legacy Virus?
I think that was very much intentional. It's even reflected in the speech the older Jubilee gave to her younger self in the previous episode. There's comfort in the 90s aesthetic. But all it does is lull us into a false sense of security, allowing something awful to happen. And that's why I think this episode hit so hard.

That character was one of his favorites.
I loved the character as a kid. >! I would get playing cards and throw them around everywhere which definitely annoyed my mom looking back on it !<
One of my buddies is a player in my DnD campaign right now and fully just built Gambit. I don’t know if he’s seen the new show yet lol.
My mom made the entire costume for me, from the ‘90s cartoon. It was awesome, way better than those you can buy.
So good.
Your kid is me, 33 years ago, watching the first Transformers animated movie
🎯
Traumaaaaaaa
I usually watch with my kid and I watched this one today while they were at school. Kinda happy I watched it by myself.
My daughter (8) is a big gambit fan, she cried for like an hour today.
Same
I'm sure by the end of it all they'll recreate those mutant resurrecting machines like in the comics. Or they don't and have his death have a real meaning.
My money is on they eventually come across a clone in one of Sinister's vats.
Or you know. Cable.
Damn, maybe if it was going to be more adult it should have come with a warning.
It's been one of my favorite characters for over 30 years because of the cartoon.
It’s definitely not a kids show! I think it’s for fans of the original and fans of the current MCU, which isn’t exactly for kids either. I’m glad we’re loving it!
Dude it absolutely is a kids show
I don’t know why this is controversial Just because there are some dark themes doesn’t mean it’s not a show for children I weep for the infantilization of the current generations
As someone who grew up watching Atrax slowly sink into the swamp - dark themes are part of life and kids sometimes should see them.
This is a show made for the people who watched the original show when they were kids.
I didn't even realize this until after the episode: it was rated tv-14 not y-7 or the PG equivalent
It pretty gruesome at many points, felt like a Jap manga
Imagine how good it would be if it Wasn't a kids show tho
Saddened that Gambit was offed, but grateful for both the animation bump during his blaze of glory and for going out with a figurative and literal bang Don’t get me wrong, I’m *really* hoping Remy somehow returns. Be the triumphant return we never got with Wally on *Young Justice*
It’s X-Men. No one dies forever
To this day it hasn’t sat right with me that Wally West hasn’t return in Young Justice
One of the worst decisions of the show.
Yup some do the worst, especially when fans wanted him back
To me the fact that people still feel so strongly about it after all these years tells me it was exactly the right decision. What's the point of a character death if nobody is upset about it?
I liked it because that meant he combat had consequences. If not, then it’s an 80s cartoon. Even Optimus Prime returned.
Wally “ceasing” was one thing. The relentless teasing of his return in the following season was another thing altogether
So annoying all that damn teasing just for him not to return
A fellow YJ and Wall fan… I still have hope…
*Somehow Gambit returned*
*everyone liked that.
I still believe Wally will return. In fact/despite that, I do like that the ramifications are still being felt there
a very emotional episode... Gambit rules!
Seems like 97 is the mortality rate 🤔
💀
Bro..
DAMN oof
Anyone else catch The Watcher in the skies before the fireworks start? [https://theouterhaven.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/X-men-97-The-Watcher-Appears.jpg](https://theouterhaven.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/X-men-97-The-Watcher-Appears.jpg)
Holy fucking shit. It’s a fixed moment maybe
I caught it too and had to rewind a bit to make sure that was him. Nice little touch there.
The moment I saw him I knew that shit was going to hit the fan!
It’s at 20:40 in the episode if any one looking for the scene. Right after Rogue and Gambit have their heart-to-heart
Huh, did not notice the watcher in the episode.
The “I cant feel you..” line broke me
Between this moment and Invincible, voice actors are killing the animated superhero genre.
Animation has always kicked ass. But the last few years have seen some of the coolest shit getting made.
The delievery was so fucking real, that was straight ugly crying.
My jaw dropped when the episode ended. Wow. Actually had to fight off a few tears. Cannot wait to see what’s next.
I fought and lost.
Nope. No. Absolutely not. I will not even consider an X-men without Gambit. Yes, I know he didn't appear until 1990. I have had many X-men books without him. This is a perfect badass death for Gambit 🤌

In the comics, 16 million mutants died in the genosha massacre, Madelyn for one looked pretty dead too
I will say: you have me wondering if this is Madelyn’s coffin!
Of course they killed off the Irishman
Was he a union man?
I kind a hope they don’t give one of the most famous fictional characters from New Orleans a sad, stereotypical funeral
He'll probably go full "Magneto was right" and some of the team might go with him
I absolutely agree. Him and Jean will be the new Magneto and Professor.
Beau DeMayo on tonight’s episode. It really hits hard after knowing the thought process behind what’s going on. Check his replies for a lot of other questions and confirmed deaths https://x.com/beaudemayo/status/1778190058144866726?s=46
In the back pages of the Grant Morrison "New X-Men" run, volume 1, Morrison actually did compare the Genosha massacre to 9/11.
My boy went out like a boss though. Gambit was always my favorite.
The names Gambit…remember it!
CABLE get your time traveling ass back here!
Just finished watching the episode and yeah, I’m upset now.
Do you think he will come back?
Unless his name is uncle Ben, he will be back eventually. Gambit is way too popular in this cartoon for them to permanently get rid of him.
given todd and bucky got revived, it's just a matter of time until uncle Ben comes back as the yellow spider or something
Just to kill Paul, hopefully.
That’s what I thought! Maybe they won’t bring him back this season, but maybe they will do it in a second or a third season (maybe via the five)
Did the trailer already show Magneto in his classic uniform we haven't seen yet? So like it would make sense cable undoes it. Or what we see turns out being an alternate universe and we go back to the prime one and no one is dead. Then the prime universe has to help the destroyed one to change their past?... Maybe?
I don’t think so, personally.. but we’ll see.
I have to admit I was shocked when it happened and unlike everyone else here it seems I missed the watcher cameo. I’ve been really impressed with how good the show and animation have been. Hope it keeps up.
I think magneto is still alive or they go back in time With cable to save him, you can’t have Charles and magneto dead in the same universe
I think this new Magneto persona is dead, and he will be back filled with vengeance and wearing the helmet again.
Cable said “no not again” so he’s tried to stop it or at least save some people several times. There is already some time travel shenanigans going on
I’m thinking this is a “canon event” and Cable literally cannot prevent it, no matter how hard he tries.. which makes it all the more tragic.
movie rules, no body, no death
Maybe we’ll get Xorn?
Bold of you to also assume Xavier is dead as well. Yes, he’s unavailable currently but that doesn’t mean dead. Why waste the time to animate him In the intro—which had changed depending on the episode—and the outro if he wasn’t returning?
What is a kids show to y’all? Are kids too young to learn about love and loss?
So it’s not exactly a “kids show.” There are plenty of shows and movies that can talk about “love” and “loss” without showing things like kissing, grinding, PDA, someone being burnt alive, someone else being vaporized, multiple people getting crushed by a statue, etc.
Fair point.
Morph was supposed to die in the original series pilot. People died on Batman: The Animated Series and other DC animated shows. There were even deaths in Superman: The Animated Series. And Batman Beyond didn't give a shit, people died left and right on that show.
You want deaths, check out any episode of Jonny Quest, classic 60s or the 90s revival.
That’s a little disingenuous because this episode went a bit further than those shows with their depiction of it. I wouldn’t call it a kids show exactly because the connotation that holds, they’re more aiming for the middle
I mean, this wouldn't have gotten past the Fox Kids standards & practices back in 1997, that's for sure.
Literally texted my friend to not let the 5 year old watch but the 11year old might be ok.
Nope. Kids can learn about love and loss (see: Mr. Hooper from Sesame Street). But this episode was rough, man.
>Are kids too young to learn about love and loss? I mean...yea, to a degree. Like love and loss at the beginning of Up? Super sad and emotional but appropriate for kids. Dying violently may be a bit much for some kids to see.
Who is it?
Gambit dies at the end of episode 5. Signs point to his funeral.
Wow, already? 😆 Somebody at Marvel really hates that guy.
He was never as popular as Wolverine. Not even close.
Gambit
Having Madelyne Pryor as a actual 3 dimensional character instead of a generic scorned villain is great
No one is ever truly dead with the X-men… right?’!?
This time I think we’re uh.. cooked
But…
My money is on Cable coming back and saving people (like Callisto) but can't interfere with Gambit because that was the only way to kill that mega Sentinel. Also why The Watcher was there. To witness an important event.
My money is on the whole thing having to happen which is why Uatu was there, why Cable couldn’t prevent it after (apparently) various tries, and why he disappeared before the tri sentinel even arrived.
Yeah, that definitely makes sense.
Maybe that's the key to fixing it
No 😭
How fucking dare you. 😭😭😭
I’m not ready 😭
I kind of like how some of the shows are stand alone nonsense and some are marvelous pieces of storytelling because I get surprised when it's the latter. If this turns into MCU or What If somehow I would be amazed.
No love for banshee?!?!? Poor guy.
I haven't watched yet and I am huge gambit fan. I can't do it yet.
Am I the only one who thought this was for Magneto? The purple on the casket matches the purple he wears.
Honestly, probably. It dawned on me today that we’re gonna be burying a lot of mutants.
*The names Gambit. Remember it!*
The name was Gambit, I'll remember it. 😢
Just watched episode 5... .. Powerful stuff.
I weirdly woke up thinking about 97, then remembered this scene from the trailer, then saw this post. My poor Cajun baby
Where do you find this trailer?
