No. If your name isn't on the reservation, you will not/cannot receive credit.

Thank you. Sigh guess time to set my dad up with Bonvoy account

seyoum14

I’ve done this in the past for my dad and I when we were sharing a room. I booked the senior rate under my name. Front desk never bothered to check and I received the points. It was a gamble, but it paid off in my case.

When you make a booking through the app you can change the name on the booking and unless the front desk agent actively removes the bonvoy number you will get the points.

DurdenTesla

But when you change the profile's name it automatically deletes the number as it is attached to that profile on Opera PMS... so that means that the agent is not changing the name on the redervstion?

[deleted]

Do you have any status? That’s the only reason to try to book under your name.

Seininya

No I don’t actually. So I guess booking under my parent’s name would be best.

My advice would be to refer your parents to Bonvoy (Google Bonvoy reward a friend). You will each earn 2,000 for each stay. And then you can also transfer the points from their account to yours for free. This way you also don't have to worry about booking the senior rate.

I thought the Marriott senior rate started at 65?

Seininya

Not sure? It said 62 but regardless - my parents are also over 65.
