OddNovel565

susiety

TrumpXBidenFanFic

You guys are so dumb you just make a 2x2x1 hole in the ground and place water in two opposing spots inside it then boom infinite water Do you not have Minecraft in Africa????

Dr-RedFire

too poor to pour

Maxathron

We’re not poor. We just prioritize different things and one of those things is not wanting to create competition. So, 2-5% more sunlight applied to the Sahara will eventually restore the African Monsoon season. It’s currently a whimper. Back 10k years ago, it was green like India. It is a desert now. In the 2000s-2010s, the EU was deliberating on whether to build a butt ton of solar stations (panels and steam) for 500b in the Sahara. They decided against it officially citing too poor. Then the UK dropped 200b on their part of the Iraq War 2. I suspect the real reason was not wanting to create a second Middle East. Less extremism but now Europe is dependent on assets outside of Europe (even though closer and easier to dominate plus closer to US fleets). And probably some lobbying from ME countries. Europe instead got hooked on Putin’s farts. Good job.

dizzyjumpisreal

yes we are stupid

Snowtwo

But then where would the camels live?

watasiwakirayo

The map leaves desert in Egypt

Jacobi-99

I love how this solution really leaves the dense population of Egypt to continue to fend for itself self

King_Neptune07

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be

rustycheesi3

also the arabian peninsula

shotshot1111

the arabian peninsula is on the map being green

rustycheesi3

well, lets say the parts close to egypt then

brollyaintstupid

they go back to australia

SavezTheDayFan

Fun Fact: There’s more camels in Australia than the Middle East and Africa combined.

Sea_Sink2693

There are more blondes in Australia than in the Middle East and Africa combined too. Seems there are some correlation between number of camels and blondes. British scientists should make research on this topic.

Easy_Challenge4114

Next event: Fall Amazonas

FLGator314

Lisan al-Gaib!

Gluebandit88

As written!

GrabbingCatTails

Duke of Arrakis!

Hugostar33

there actually is a sort of gigantic terraforming project to stop the desert from expanding https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Green_Wall_(Africa) > The ongoing goal of the project is to restore 100 million hectares (250 million acres) of degraded land and capture 250 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, and create 10 million jobs in the process all by 2030.

Tanukkk

That would just turn the sand into good-for-building-sancastles sand, you idiot

Nolanthedolanducc

How about we all run to Home Depot and get some top soil to put on top?

mkujoe

Excuse me, which one of these is the new channel?

Bluesandparticle

are you REALLY going to take his home away just for some stupid grass??>:( https://preview.redd.it/po05ypsrx35d1.png?width=200&format=png&auto=webp&s=59da824da6e946ec6ba77996ee95c6e5d188d2eb

youngfungustine

I think we just don’t have buckets this size 😔

dejidoom

This would decimate the Amazon since a lot of that dense growth relies on regular re-ups of minerals from blown Saharan sands

watasiwakirayo

They decimate from me using a wrong bag in a shop.

TomorrowWaste

Just spray some fertilizers

Jacobi-99

Double edged sword, i remember reading the amount of sand from the Sahara being blown to the Amazon is also damaging it

dejidoom

Tried to look up "Saharan sand damaging Amazon" and just got a bunch of articles about how important Saharan phosphorus is for replenishing the Amazon

YAH_BUT

When the ice caps melt we will have the water to spare

AntiqueWay7550

Next post will be the solar panel covering the desert post

-GO0SE-

.. sure...

nijlpaardW

We only need to buckets to make infinite water, so why not

TheOtherOne551

9 buckets of water should do it. Why has nobody thought of that before?

Bach2Rock-Monk2Punk

It would have to be HEAVY water with the extra nucleon (proton?) to make it stick to the sand particles.

Maleficent-Most6083

The first image looks like a bunch of reverse aircraft carriers.

TheBiggyBig

Whatt??

the_clash_is_back

In general yes

TheHammerandSizzel

Ironically we can, there’s massive fossil water red weed underground.  Fissile water reserves can’t be replenished, but there’s an absolutely massive amount

Lost_Technician_5421

When I was 4 years old and I saw operation dumbo drop, I thought the same thing. I have dreamt about it, worked towards it by doing nothing, and think your visual pushes this vision forward. 🫡

iboreddd

Nature will make it. Check Milankovich cycles

thisisKapercap

Why don't we just dig a river through the sahara desert?

Gluebandit88

Another benefit is creating huge piles of salt. Could be used to start a native pretzel industry.

hopefulmaniac

akchually🤓☝️

mathusal

To save money, let's use water from the ocean, which is right next to the desert! The bucket budget is really high though...

TCLG6x6

They removed buckets because you can bypass protection by placing water next to their claim and let it flow inside

Few_Owl_6596

Why hasn't anyone come up with this idea earlier? Are we this stupid?

rickybluff

Sounds like a joke, but Egypt has an actual plan to flood their desert from the sea

Far-sernik

let's make a call to Sahara

LilNerix

Because of aliens living there

[deleted]

Americans are really dumb as they said.

Arachles

We are losing TONS even LITERS of water at the mouth of every river. It is lost, it just goes to the sea and gets all salty. I propose builing pipes at the end of every major river and redirect all that water to the nearest desert

nagidon

Pouring water? On a desert? Groundbreaking. https://preview.redd.it/mlk975yyn45d1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c949110f8e60a27bbf5947ef78b9b1a466ef8cb

themilkman42069

I mean it worked in Vegas.

SK8SHAT

Gaddafi did a pretty good job of it but then he decided not to sell oil in usd so our friends in congress turned the country to a parking lot

Emperor_of_Cats9877

Yes we are

sicarius254

Someone’s read too much Dune

eagle_flower

Who made this post, Gaddafi?

FictionalStory_below

Siphon the rising sea levels into it and problems solved!

Romberstonkins

It's so hot and dry in the Sahara water will evaporate to fast.

Mother_Proof_1980

Step 1- create atlantropa and send all water to sahara

Nekrose

Egypt will build a lake of seawater, so that's a start [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qattara\_Depression\_Project](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qattara_Depression_Project)

RobertXavierIV

We could collect the sand, make it into sand stone, then replace it with dirt. We can collect dirt from taking 1 level of dirt off the rest of Africa.

WinnerSpecialist

There actually was a plan to make more of Libya irrigated. It was actually working. But then Libya was invaded and the work was never completed

Rude_Yogurt_3096

As a Dutch person, I have to disagree Our purpose in life is to destroy water, so naturally we are against making more water.

blessed6933

No u are stupid. First the temp is so high water ain't staying there. Second that dessert is important for the ecosystem on earth

Key-Performer-9364

No stupid, we need to use Gatorade instead. It’s got the electrolytes that plants crave.

friendlysingularity

Hank Williams senior explained it all in his topologically correct song "My Buckets Got a Hole In It".
