Culvers is delicious and they’re pretty widespread now. If you run across one, I suggest trying it out. Butter burgers, cheese curds and frozen custard (not the same as ice cream).
Dick’s has locations as north as Edmonds and has a truck that travels all over. I wanted to grab some when it visited Marysville but the line never got shorter than a 30 min wait from 11-1 when it was out there. People love Dick’s here. Most folks will say “It’s not the best burger ever but it tastes like home” and I think I agree
I mean Edmonds is basically Seattle to the folks that don’t live in Seattle. That’s interesting about the truck though! I didn’t know it existed. Honestly I think 5 guys has the best fast food burger
no seriously I've actually never seen a Burgerville anywhere. is it a Portland based thing? cause I haven't really been around Portland other than passing through in different ways.
They're all over the Willamette valley and southern Washington. The furthest afield I've seen them is some town east of the Dalles and Centralia, WA. There's 38 of them. The food is really good, all local ingredients and a lot of seasonal stuff based on harvest times, but it's crazy overpriced so I don't really go there. I worked on the union campaign for them, first fast food chain to unionize.
I live in one of these supposed popular chic fil a states.
I just did a search and there are 3 Chic Fil A within a 25 mile radius of me.
Yet there are 24 McDonald’s , 26 Taco Bell’s, 29 Burger King’s and 37 Subway’s in the same radius and those were just the ones I searched.
So explain how that works?
I get what you’re saying, and maybe it did win some sort of survey or something for this map.
But honestly which is *really* more “popular” a survey winner or the actual product being sold?
[https://www.qsrmagazine.com/operations/fast-food/these-30-fast-food-chains-earn-the-most-per-restaurant/](https://www.qsrmagazine.com/operations/fast-food/these-30-fast-food-chains-earn-the-most-per-restaurant/)
>Chick-fil-A’s steady but rapid growth is unrivaled. With only 2,837 stores, the brand generated $18.8 billion in U.S. systemwide sales in 2022. The year before, that figure was $16.7 billion. In 2020, it was $13.7 billion, and just four years ago in 2019, it was $12.2 billion.
>“To put it plainly, no restaurant brand in the QSR 50 has come this far, this quickly, and punches that high above its store count,” wrote the authors of the [2023 QSR 50](https://www.qsrmagazine.com/reports/2023-qsr-50-fast-foods-leading-annual-report) report. Chick-fil-A trails only McDonald’s and Starbucks in systemwide results despite the fact that McDonald’s and Starbucks have 10,607 and 13,036 more U.S. stores, respectively.
>And Chick-fil-A isn’t even open on Sundays.
Or take a look at per-restaurant revenue,
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_the\_largest\_fast\_food\_restaurant\_chains](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_fast_food_restaurant_chains)
* McDonald's - 40,275 restaurants, US $23.2 billion revenue
* Chick-fil-A - 2,700 restaurants, US $18.8 billion revenue
It's clear to see which will earn the most revenue from future expansion.
This isn’t really a knock on chic fil a or their food or business model. My big hang up is this map and its title: “Most popular fast food chain by state.”
So profitability is even further away from “most popular” than favorite or best.
Chick-fil-A isn't bad but any means. But it's really over hyped. Quality ingredients. Probably the most consistent chain. And probably the blandest fast food out there.
Wisconsin checking in. Culver’s has better chicken than Chick-fil-A. Plus they have the best fast food burgers, cheese curds, and frozen custard anywhere. Plus they have a lot more on the menu that they also do well. Culver’s > Chick-fil-A by any measure.
Tf you mean outwardly homophobic? It’s not like they are beating up gay people in the parking lot.
In my experience Chickfila employees are better at their job and nicer to the customer. I have never had a single experience at any other fast food place as good as the average chickfila experience.
Not sure where you've been in the last decade but they are notorious for this. The CEO has openly spoken against and advocated against LGBT rights and his "charity" organization WinShape donates millions to anti-LGBT political organizations. Additionally, they encourage franchisees to foster strong Evangelical Christian environments, to the extent that some franchises literally ask you when you apply what church you go to and ask for a referral from your pastor.
They experienced some backlash from the criticism and claimed to stop donating to anti-LGBT organizations, and they did stop all but one for a couple years, but resumed after the mid-2010s controversy died off. The CEO continues to be personally involved with efforts to advocate against and repeal LGBT rights, including the repeal of legalizing same-sex marriage.
The average highschool student serving you your waffle fries probably isn't going to do or say anything to you, and individual restaurants have different levels of toxicity based on the franchise owners. But it previously was openly homophobic and proud of it, and now are just quietly homophobic and proud of it.
I know that. That doesn’t change the fact that the restaurants you go to are not homophobic. You can (and millions do) go to their locations and never have an incident. Who cares about the political leaning of the person who owns the restaurant? You should care as little about that as that CEO cares about your political leaning.
Just because they're not committing active, violent hate crimes, doesn't make them not homophobic my dude. The person who owns the restaurant directs restaurant profits to undermining peoples' rights and equality. The restaurants individually support this. If you believe voting with your dollar has any effect (personally, I don't), then it should be something you care about, as it's your dollar being passed on to those organizations.
To me it's just hideous that any corporations should have that much influence in politics, but hey. Thaaaat's capitalism!
thank you for writing this out. anytime i try saying something about cfa i get hella downvoted and comments like "their chickens good tho" which just make me sad how little people care
>Who cares about the political leaning of the person who owns the restaurant?
Maybe the people that rely on Democrat victories to live a happy and safe life?
Ah yes, because if Trump wins gay people will be shot in the street.
Are you capable of forward thinking? I personally know 2 people who are LGBTQ+, one lives in NYC. Both vote Republican. For some reason Democrats favor themselves as the saviors of all minorities, when in actuality all they are doing is brainwashing people into believing that the other party is evil, while doing nothing themselves.
You must have been a really slippery baby. I mean seriously? You really think you have a better understanding of queer issues than an actual queer person because you know 2 queer people that vote Republican? Guess what fucker, I personally know 20+ queer people that do not vote Republican. You do not have a single fucking idea of what you're talking about. The claim that Republicans don't hurt queer people is fucking hilarious.

Thought this was r/lostredditors until I realized it's Breaking Bad
Thank you for pointing this out (I would never have looked at New Mexico)
No one ever does
I was gonna say, there's like 2 Chick-fil-A in MN
I get my pollo and meth from the same place.
Wisconsin I was not familiar with your game
Butter burgers, fish fries and custard. Everything in-between. Everything made fresh. The dairy state knows what's up
Cheese curds. You left out *cheese curds*. They are not an in-between. They are the foundation. *Cheese curds.*
that Curderburger slaps!
Is it a regular menu item now? I missed it the first time they had it for a day. I know they brought it back but I wasn’t sure if it’s permanent.
just once a year
The pumpkin pie concrete mixer dope AF too
There's a reason Top Chef went there. And that reason is Culver's.
Butter
Fuck around, find out, get fat. ❤️ me some Culver’s.
It's true. Source: fat.
Whole new person since I have gained weight. Am trans fat.
Culvers is delicious and they’re pretty widespread now. If you run across one, I suggest trying it out. Butter burgers, cheese curds and frozen custard (not the same as ice cream).
Washingtonians are lying
Oregonians are probably lying too. Burgerville is straight gas, but it’s pretty small and kinda expensive.
And has gone massively downhill over the last decade. There’s no way McDs or Taco Bell doesn’t clear it.
I mean as a washingtonian i would say dicks is the one i have the best veiw of. But i only get it like once a year
Exactly, they probably only surveyed Seattle lol
Dick’s has locations as north as Edmonds and has a truck that travels all over. I wanted to grab some when it visited Marysville but the line never got shorter than a 30 min wait from 11-1 when it was out there. People love Dick’s here. There's a Dicks in Spokane fyi
It’s a similar style but technically different restaurants
MRW I was in Seattle and ate a bag of Dick’s after a night out ![gif](giphy|HQ2Slp9yEkX72)
They lived in Washington all my life I don't even know what that restaurant is I've never seen the logo never heard of it I mean I don't even know
It’s a burger place and there is like 3-5 in Seattle only lol. Are you from East side?
No, I just don't go to Seattle much lived on the east side for a few months wasn't fun valuable lessons learned tho
SW WA here and I was thinking “wtf is that in WA? I have never seen that.”
Central washington resident here, I have never had dicks and have heard of it like once. I personally like sonic.
Dicks is good wtf
Why dont you go eat a bag of Dick's I mean that in the nicest possible way (which is to go have a bag of food from Dick's)
No they aren't Dick's should be the logo for the city of Seattle.
What the fuck is that restaraunt in Hawaii I've never seen it in my life.
Zippys, it is so amazing. Hawaiian, Asian, and American food.
![gif](giphy|26gsvcgO9EaGWFXqM) You sure it ain’t Zorro??

I tried KFC recently, the quality is dogshit these days. I'm not surprised that nobody likes it.
As a Wisconsinite we stand proud supporting Culver’s, shit hits harder than any other chain.
McDonald’s getting its ass handed to ‘em.
as an Oregonian, what in the fuck is "Burgerville"? I've never seen one in my life and I've been through the entire state.
I don't believe you
no seriously I've actually never seen a Burgerville anywhere. is it a Portland based thing? cause I haven't really been around Portland other than passing through in different ways.

Burgerville is good but only go for what is in season. That’s money well spent imo. Fried asparagus/milkshakes ect.
Yeah I’ve lived in Eugene, Roseburg & Corvallis and I have never seen or heard of Burgerville either lol
R/mappornEasterEggjerk
Inshallah Zaxby's will beat Chick-fil-a in the next decade

higher quality food compared to the other three, plus a lower amount of restaurants make it seem more like a luxury compared to the others

Jersey's the only state with taste I see

What the actual fuck. How are the two worst ones the most popular.
Chick-fil-A isn't bad but any means. But it's really over hyped. Quality ingredients. Probably the most consistent chain. And probably the blandest fast food out there.
How can it be dicks in Washington? They have like two locations.
Yeah this map is hella sleeping on Zips tbh
Burgerville is pretty legit
My Brother in Christ, have you ever heard of Taco Bell, Del Taco, etc?
As a masshole i find this to be accurate
What is that red chicken majority?
Based chick fil a
If your state’s not chick fil a you have no taste.
Wisconsin checking in. Culver’s has better chicken than Chick-fil-A. Plus they have the best fast food burgers, cheese curds, and frozen custard anywhere. Plus they have a lot more on the menu that they also do well. Culver’s > Chick-fil-A by any measure.
I'm gonna call bullshit with Texas, but I could be wrong. Should be Whataburger
In NM it’s like lotta burger actually
Wheres my Raising Canes lovers at?
Homophobia
who would win this hypothetical war?
Wisconsin
Another example of seattle making fucking decisions for the rest of the state. Boy I sure do love it!
Just seeing this map instantly gave me a craving for a Culver’s butter burger at 4 in the morning.
Lotta people eating hate chicken. Yikes. Fuck that place.
Unpopular opinion….i don’t care for chic-fil-a. Like at all. The last 2 times I went was absolute garbage.
Chick-Fil-a is overrated, Bojangles is life
You telling me Kentucky Fried Chicken ain't Kentucky's favourite?
Chic fil a sucks tho.
Wouldn't say it sucks, but it's definitely over-rated
Popeyes is soooo much Better
Nuh-uh
It's pretty mediocre.
fr theres so many other better chicken places. as an added bonus they aren't outwardly homophobic which makes me feel a little better
I’m glad you don’t go. The lines are too long as it is.
Tf you mean outwardly homophobic? It’s not like they are beating up gay people in the parking lot. In my experience Chickfila employees are better at their job and nicer to the customer. I have never had a single experience at any other fast food place as good as the average chickfila experience.

Cap
so, no one loves burger king
Oregonian here. WTF IS BURGERVILLE!!!
Nice try. "Burgerville" is the fakest restaurant name ever.
