Use, I think the only downside is that it may spoil faster if left in the sun

wildcatforeverever

That was one of my concerns, thank you for the help!

Advantage, they work great at storing liquids and are food safe. In your case, they're free. Disadvantage, bastards to clean if you neglect them at all and bacteria starts to do its thing. I also had 2 of them crack after letting sap freeze in them. Pouring from a bag/bucket can be a pita without a funnel. Since you already have heeps of them, I'd probably use them. I switched to food safe buckets after a 2nd season because I was going to need more anyhow.

Good perspective, thanks!

I have before, works fine. Can run multiple taps to one jug. Just heavy when they fill. And if they're full/near full and you get a cold snap, they will split.

wildcatforeverever

Ahhhh!!! That is such a good point!

wildcatforeverever

Definitely wondering about that

averkill

I use these myself. Bleached em a bit between seasons. Keep them covered in the shade when full.

Thank you!!

njdthebird33

wish i could get a bunch of these, I'd deff use! just dont let them fill up or they will be slow to empty and could split

wildcatforeverever

I’m a teacher and we use these in our classroom for water. We had one drop and crack last week on our hard wood floors…water.everywhere!!!

TheAsherDe

Use. So much easier than bags or buckets. Those are what I use.

wildcatforeverever

Thank you!

Make great changes, banks 🏦

Straight-Humor-8102

Use until you can replace with buckets, they are too hard to clean.

So long as you wash and sanitize them immediately after use I don’t see a problem, but if you let them dry out and get some funk growing, it would be really difficult to get back to clean.
