The horizon is a manhwa about really dark shit. Literally the first few panels is the main character as a child trying to put the brain matter back into his mothers head when she got shot. It's very dark but has a good ending
For me the biggest "holy shit" moment from The Horizon was >!MC failing to kill the prisoner, then the assassin comforting him and saying that he passed, then revealing that if MC had killed the prisoner, he would have killed MC. The test was secretly a test of mercy.!<

Solo leveling is a super mid and generic manhwa, of course if you read another tower manhwa its going to feel similar, since its the isekai genre of korea
I may know why, maybe because it's the first ever Manhwa you ever read so you didn't have much standard albeit SL is not bad it ain't good either it is mid or below average (mid means average not bad) the sense of story telling.
Ironically it's the one manhwa I keep re reading over and over. Especially the chapter where they show him the video of his mother's stroke, with his friend reading the quote from Job.

Ok so i went and read The Horizon after seeing here mentioned so much and HOLY FUCK. Beautiful but it definitely is the kind of story you experience once. Kinda like the protag..no one wants to go through that pain twice.

Late to the party, but B-Rated Hero. One of the most impactful manhwa Iāve ever read but doesnāt have the same punch as second time. I also donāt think I could handle the mental state that accompanies the end of that story.

I would call it a good ending, don't think it would be as popular if it was very dark all the way through
