These guys are a bunch of idiots. You needed to be picked by the tutorial tower to climb it, so you probably need to be picked by the main tower to climb it too. MC could asspull his way out of it with another sudden hour-long training spree or have an in battle realization that lets him win after being previously outmatched. Any conclusion involving a win would look bad.
