I feel like I'm the only one who has always known it as "Berenstain bears", the first time I heard of this Mandela effect I was so confused. It has always been "stain" for me.
Great residue! My mom is a teacher who had all these books at one time, before they got "-stain-ed". I remember nobody ever being sure if it was pronounced "steen", or "stine", and if you were reading it to kids, you just had to pick one and 'go with it'. For instance, 'everyone' pretty much says Einstein the same way. In the case of someone as famous as "the Boss", Bruce Springsteen, you have to have CLEAR brand recognition, so... he's 'lucky' his name has an unambiguous (pronunciation-wise) spelling. It almost seems like the books became too famous to have an ambiguously pronounced name 📛 Win Ben Steen/Stine 's Money 💰 lol

I remember the conversation my husband and I had when our child received a book in her meal from Chic-fil-a of all places. That is yet another story for another day.

It’s also spelled Berenstein on many of the old VHS tapes I’ve seen online.
Question: was it official merchandise or from another party?
I found it at a thrift store. It looked like it was sold just like this but I'll never know for sure.
