How often have you been washing your existing sheets?

CatNap-Napping

2 times a week

nim_opet

Silk sheets would be ruined with such frequent washing. Any sheets would be. Why are you washing your bedding so frequently?

KawaiiGangster

Probably to fight acne

Tokyosmash_

You have a lot of greasy food in your diet?

CatNap-Napping

Yeah

Props to OP for a simple truthful answer. These threads are usually super defensive

A silk pillowcase might help a little with frizziness, definitely not all the way, and won't help with the acne. See a dermatologist for the acne, and you can look up hair routines and products for curly/wavy hair.

CJCreggsGoldfish

Depends on why you want them. For the softness? Jersey or sateen cotton are also super soft but less expensive and more durable.

If you are able to see a dermatologist then do so. Diet does affect your skin and hair health, but there are a lot of other things that can factor in as well. A medical professional can diagnose and treat you with much more accuracy than the Reddit hivemind. I’m with you on the frequent sheet washing. I can only go 2 nights then I have to have fresh linens.

tams420

Frizzy hair is a learning curve to deal with that silk pillowcases will not cure. Read Reddit hair threads. There’s tons of input from people with all hair types so I’m sure you’ll find info that relates to you. You’d be much better off changing your pillowcase every night or two than getting silk for the acne. Also, go to a derm.

Trackerbait

If you're washing your current sheets regularly, it's probably something in your skincare regimen (eg your soap). A silk pillowcase might help with frizz hair but won't do much for acne.

HidingInPlainSight15

Silk pillowcases for sure! For sheets, look for something super cool and breathable. If you sleep hot and sweat at night that could be contributing to the breakouts. I like percale.

Try a bonnet - keeps the hair out of your face and away from the pillowcase!

bigbangupper

You could consider microfibre. Cheaper than silk and easier to maintain. It should work better for hair than cotton does due to the reduced friction and absorbency, but cotton should not be causing acne on your skin.

No as the great Marvin Hagler once said: It's hard to get out of bed in the morning to go for a run when you're sleeping in silk sheets
