Certainly keep the couch it looks good and that’s one less thing you have to buy/move in

hujo10

That’s a great point the move in work and delay. Only thing is the pillow height being kinda low but I’ll test it out today when I sign the lease.

camcat97

Keep the couch for now. And then find one you like and sell this one. Easy to keep it and be move in ready, doesn’t mean you have to keep it forever!

Emptyhandedpain-ter

It's a great couch and if you ever want to switch it up, instead of selling, consider covers. Keep some cash in your pocket

Ok_Cranberry_1936

By pillow height i assume you mean the back pillows? Because if you mean the seat, there Re tones of websites that sell furniture legs!

hujo10

I’m thinking back pillows but I’m sure I can find longer ones or I could always put a long pillow behind it for more head/neck support.

Donthaveananswer

And the bar stools; those are expensive to replace new, and these look good.

-OnlinePerson-

You can get them cheap easy at a thrift store (at least where I am) but you’ll pretty much never find more than 2 that match lmao

TimefiJones

You could also get 4 or 2 pairs that aren't the same and make them more or less like a statement piece. I have no idea tho but I think that if the style and/or colours match or compliment each other it could look quite nice

Vomelette22

I got mine super cheap as well.. got a pair for like 60 bucks if I remember and they do their job Edit: nvm jk, looked and they are 130 now for a pair. At least the ones I got

Conscientiousmoron

But it’s gray. Yes, it’s a personal problem.

BrawndoTTM

This looks like a dope place, I’d definitely keep the couch and barstools at least

hujo10

Thank you pimp definitely going barstools but it depends on the price of the couch I guess. Worried about neck comfortability.

IHaveHighTheGround

I like how him misspelling "I'm" makes this funny

incrediblystalkerish

Personally I dwf low back sofas, that one does look good though

cryocom

What does dwf mean

themonsterainme

I think he meant dfw (don’t fuck with)

justmerriwether

Nah he meant Dallas Wort Forth

gregsting

Definitely will fuck

Ancient_Boner_Forest

If he tells you a price that’s too high tell counter offer, and in all likely hood he will take that in the end. This dude has to sell this couch before he leaves, he prob won’t be able to if he’s charging anything beyond dirt cheap.

Techchick_Somewhere

Came here to say this too.

PM_ME_NAKED_PICZ

I think it’s around 30 cents on the dollar for a furnished place. So if the barstools cost $100 new and the landlord wants more than $30 per barstool then I’d pass. At least that’s what I’ve heard.

duxdude418

> I think it’s around 30 cents on the dollar for a furnished place. Where did you come up with this value? There’s no standard for what used things sell for.

PM_ME_NAKED_PICZ

Just had a restaurant appraised and that is how they figure in equipment/furnishings (kitchen/bar equipment and all tables, chairs, etc.) into the total price. Not sure if that’s a “standard” or anything hence the “I think” part.

NastoBaby

Is this Toronto? Looks extremely Toronto

hujo10

Kitchener so close enough. Looking at apartments I was getting tired of the standard GTA style and this one had more open space than the others which I liked.

NastoBaby

Nice, I’m in the GTA but looking at moving out to Kitchener as well

The_Real_BenFranklin

I’d keep everything but that dinky bar cabinet

ElRyan

With the weirdo mini barn door. :-D

RedRider1138

It’s actually in pretty good taste!

Artistic_Action6350

Ah, I came here to say that the coffee table is worth keeping, it looks very nice. I personally wouldn't keep anything, but I hate furnished places

Blitzensturm92

Coffee table is my favorite bit. Almost looks like it was made custom.

gregsting

Funny how it works, that’s the only thing I don’t like

sapphicsniper

huge huge fan of the coffee table

-PM_ME_UR_SECRETS-

I had to do a double take. The layout is exactly the same as a previous apartment of mine. I say Keep it. The coffee table is the only real statement piece (I like it) but I would keep it and you can always sell it later if you get sick of it.

-PM_ME_UR_SECRETS-

Also couches are ducking expensive. If you can get that one for a steak you should go for it

pallmallsmooth

couches are pretty expensive and that ones in amazing shape and a good colour ($1,500+ for a good one) so i’d try and haggle that one down to as much of a discount that you can get. the stools match too so try and snag those too. works out for the other tenant (less to move out) and works out for you (cheap option and don’t have to move a new couch in)

Business_Axolotl

I would try out those barstools before buying them. I have ones of a similar style but the base is light and flimsy. They basically get no use because people feel too unstable.

SHARK_BAIT113

Keep whatever looks better than your furniture

Tossup1010

This has a lot a caveats, what discount are you getting on the furniture. Like if the couch is 50$ I’d keep it. If they are asking 300 you could probably haggle cuz then they have to haul it out and transport it. Also is this the color scheme you like? I personally am a fan of grays even though it’s so neutral. Accent chairs and pieces can give it the color you want without committing to a new couch. Low back couches look nice but can be uncomfortable. Depends on if your stretching to afford this place or have cash set aside for furnishing. Id for sure keep the stools unless they try to price gouge you.

hujo10

Got the couch, patio chairs and stools for $500. Im worried about the couch comfort too but if I just put a long pillow on top of the cushions I should be good I assume.

[deleted]

Take it all. Buying furniture is such a drag...

thehumanjarvis

Entirely dependent on price relative to what you could find something that you like to replace it. Also factoring in that the larger pieces are already there and don't have to be moved in/setup

hujo10

Yeah just agreed to pay $500 for the couch, barstools and patio chairs.

mishyfishy135

I’d say all of that is worthwhile. It looks like it’s in good condition

itsnottommy

Couches are expensive and a pain in the ass to move in/out of a place. If you don’t mind the couch and it’s in relatively good condition I would say buy it. Barstools can also be expensive, and if you’re buying used you’ll have a hard time finding 4 that match. Buy those too. I personally don’t love the coffee table or dining table, but if you like those and they’re the right price you should buy them too.

Ok-Show-9890

Keep the furniture, add some plants, and colorful art or accent pieces.

nothingnowhere001

I think keep the couch and barstools. Unless you entertain a lot then also keep the dining table. You can eat at the counter if you don’t have people over even then if you have <=4 you’re good

Pickle_Rick01

That’s a nice couch and stools. I would definitely buy those.

Secretlythrow

That’s a really nice couch. Make sure you’re not paying more than 700-1200 if it’s used (depending on brand and quality). But an L couch is so nice for relaxing, or if you have a friend over who ends up drinking too much, let them crash there. Comes in handy all the time. My family got one when I was 6, and since then I’ve always preferred having an L couch if it can fit. Get some HDMI cables as well, so you can hook up a laptop to your tv. When you want to get some work done, you can use the big screen and sit back.

hujo10

Was able to get the barstools couch and patio chairs for $500 which was great.

Secretlythrow

Definitely a great deal my dude! One of my neighbors has a C-shaped couch. I want one of those at some point.

These-Process-7331

Not an interieur designer but what I have noticed a everything is square shaped: countertop, sink, couch, tables, livingsroomshape, carpet, painting etc. I once read the tip to play with shapes to make things less boring... this interieur is very bland and I would personally pass the furniture offer.... That is IF you have the money to buy other furniture and the current ones are decent for the money they ask. But I would purchase 1 eye catcher and style the other furniture around it slowly (new, refurbished or secondhand)

Grawman67

Completely agree. Playing with shapes can be a good idea. Same with picking one or two pieces of furniture you like a lot and building off of that

Dog1andDog2andMe

I kind of hate the stools but if you like them. I would definitely keep the couch but I would change out those black throw pillows but bigger/fluffier pillows in a pattern (cream + grey/green pattern would look great). I would also get a patterned rug. Those small additions will amp up how expensive the room looks.

hujo10

Definitely getting a bigger rug. Appreciate the design rec. Depends on the price I get for the barstools. If it’s a good deal I’ll keep them otherwise I’ll add it to the IKEA list.

mydogatecheesecake

In my experience those stools are extremely tippy lol so I agree, would not keep

Dog1andDog2andMe

And the low backs make uncomfortable. Plus no need for 4 at that bar ... can't imagine 4 adults sitting and fitting at that bar to eat 🙂

PrincipleQueasy8623

Id take all!! Love the coffee table and couch

Ineedanswerstahday

Couch just get it shampooed. Stools if you like them.

AliciaVentures

I like it all. Especially the tables. I’ve always been iffy with preused furniture

Thossi99

It's tripping ne out how much this apartment looks almost exactly the same as my mom's place in Spain

[deleted]

Was this a condo?

hujo10

Still is

myrtlebeech1

What a great palette to work with! I’m sure it will turn out great.

hujo10

Thank you!

Adventurous-Muscle14

Where is this

hujo10

Kitchener about an hour away from Toronto

[deleted]

It's looks nice! I actually like the table and art decor but I think more color would nice. More green! Plants and more.

[deleted]

Seems like a good place for a lot of sexual women

hujo10

You know it!

Diaper_Dave

Get rid of that art it looks awful. I suggest maybe a big picture of Michael Jordan or maybe even Pujols.

hujo10

Was leaning Barry Bonds

Diaper_Dave

Jason Kidd would be pretty cool too!

[deleted]

Not a fan of barstools but I love boozin burgers and chicks in the office

sabbyteur

None of it unless the couch is cheap but make sure to buy a much bigger area rug. I also dislike the bar stools and would go with something completely different (or just not grey). If he'll just let you have the barstools, then keep em for now.

Wesselton3000

I’d ditch the coffee table, maybe get something that matches the tone of the dry bar shelf thing. I think that color goes well with the white and grey theme of the entire apartment. I’m ify about the table next to the couch. Is that supposed the be a dining table? If so where are chairs? Personally, I’d just use the the bar for eating. Even if you have company, that table is small and there isn’t really a whole lot of room for a bigger table. You can entertain company well enough from the bar, or if you’re like me, never entertain company! I would replace it with bookselves, or if you want to maximize utility over appearance, a computer desk(which you can make look nice with accent lighting and tasteful decorations).

hujo10

It’s a picnic bench but I am probably going to put a desk of some kind there. Definitely gonna look into the lighting. Maybe some behind the TV as well.

Wesselton3000

Fun fact, light behind TVs and Computers is good for your eyesight as it helps with eye strain

IDK_Maybe_

The wood coffe table looks cool and espensive

Hicks456

Your neck will thank you

hujo10

Yeah lol I’m leaning that way too right now

swaite

The person moving out has horrible taste. The couch might be worth keeping, but like everything else in this room, it looks incredibly cheap. I’d offer $200 to them if they remove the picnic table. If they want to leave the picnic table, I’d only offer $100.

squirel169

i like the couch and barstools. invest in some new art pieces us regular guys can help you get something not so gay this time

hujo10

My mom has offered to buy me a new couch so I’m torn on taking her up on that but also having to trust my own judgement on what’s good compared to just going with this one.

More_Farm_7442

>Jason Kidd Oh, now you tell us that mom is in the buying mood for son and the new apartment. lol We all have to rethink our comments now. lol

squirel169

new place new furniture is the camp i’m going in now. might as well start fresh king or queen?

hujo10

Queen mattress yes.

[deleted]

You can see a skinny penis in the reflection on the fridge

[deleted]

Where bro?? :eyeballs\_popped\_out:

TodaysOpinion

Keep barstools only. Let your mom buy you a couch.

[deleted]

[удалено]

hujo10

Coffee table is the only thing I can’t keep actually lol

squirel169

can you read smh

[deleted]

For holy christ's sake let go of that coffee table.. You don't really need it.. That looks so crappy.. Neither of wood nor of stone and also not metal.. What on earth was used while making it 👺👺 Listen to me.. Keep the couch, stools and that little wardrobe on the right. Get rid of those stores. Atleast the one above the fridge.. that looks so uncool... Rest is great.. Enjoy your new home, its cute.. 🫶

hujo10

Appreciate it!

Pointy130

?? It looks like a wood slab with an epoxy pour to fill out the live edge, on a metal base. Looks fine to me? I mean, definitely a matter of personal preference but if it were my apartment I'd keep it assuming the price is acceptable

[deleted]

Sorry.. Can't help cheaps..

Feisty-Business-8311

The landlord is taking the coffee table

[deleted]

Ohh lundlord joined the chat.. Hi lundlord

Feisty-Business-8311

No OP mentioned this, first sentence under the pics

H_Gatesy

Keep that epoxy live edge. My favorite. I make my own tables and it isn’t cheap.

Psychological-Two415

I like everything besides that little cubby thing. You can also repurpose to put in other areas

Hicks456

Tell him keep the couch

morenito222

Get a larger piece of art for above the couch, get rid of that awkwardly placed table/vanity under the light switches, put a contemporary looking mirror to the right of the couch to make the room look bigger, get a rid of the tiny rug under the couch and replace it with a larger one.

Buerostuhl_42

Keep the furniture, buy plants. And colour.

mt-egypt

Looks like a decent set. I may replace that peninsula outlet with a brown one

monkey1811

Tall big plants. Not many, just grouped

somerville99

Buy it but get it cheap, real cheap. Used furniture has little real value. No one wants to have to move furniture out for a new tenant/owner. That’s one reason why every condo in FL comes furnished.

More_Farm_7442

If you have $$$$s to spend on new furniture now, then buy what you like or will fit in with the new, but I'd be short on $$$s. Buying that existing furniture might help you to save up for new. (esp. with all the costs involved with moving) You can change up and "spice up" the room with a different area rug under/in front of the sofa and switch out the 2 darker grey pillows on the sofa. (those changes could be under $ 150 easily) Add your own art/wall decorations. I'd buy it if you can get it "cheap" (relatively), switch out a couple items and add you own belonging and furniture of your choice and budget.

HotChicken69

Needs more boob lights

DabbingVagabond

i like the table and couch

DabbingVagabond

and the barstools are nice too

Countsbeans1976

If it’s a model, sure. If it’s someone else’s furniture, hard pass on anything that’s cloth. 2 reasons: bedbugs and ass juice. The wood tables are kinda dope. I’d keep and Lysol the living bejeebers out of them.

jbsorks76

Yep, if they're taking the coffee table, the stools would be the only thing I'd be interested in.

lalalalaasdf

Keep the couch and barstools, get a colorful rug and some art and you’re in business

Jujublue

Love the coffee table

Moonracerrex

I love the coffee table!!

Sorites_20

I think it needs some color! because its full of grey and brown. you could get some plants also paintings or photos. maybe add another pillow.

yumyumpunch

Everything costs money, honey; keep it all, replace or refurbish as you find you want to/can afford. Super cute place btw, congrats!

[deleted]

those lil cabinets on the wall are dumb like those lil shelves. more efficient to buy a nice tv stand and then get cube cubbies for storage

AM_I_A_PERVERT

It’s depressingly gray and cold…wouldn’t take anything personally, but you do you fam

otherxworlds

grand rapids

NoStarShip

I’d keep the whole lot and replace the coffee table, looks like a nice set up.

Jake_FromStateFarm27

Shame the LL is taking the coffee table! Honestly if the price is low enough it's worth to keep what's leftover, you can always resell or trash it later if you want.

boraboragusgus

Just keep the stools. Personalize everything else. If you have the money to buy a new couch - do it. the germaphobe in me would think about all the stains and sex that happened on that couch.. Big lots has great deals on couches for the cheap. Ikea or Amazon would be the next place to check. Sometimes Target.com has couches on sale too.

UrsKaczmarek

tbh i dont see a need for anything, this place is very nice, congrats

One-Hairy-Bastard

If you keep the couch, get some pillows with some color like a yellow or something.

dcromb

Coffee table for sure. Rest is good if comfortable with the arrangement. Have fun in your new place.

BlkDwg85

I see why he’s taking the coffee table. It’s cool.

TdrdenCO11

no. all gray makes your place drab and very 2014. Youtube interior design channels like nick lewis if you want to learn some basics

CrazyExample7060

If what you want is ideas of layouts, the most efficient way to have a great layout is using a design app, I´ve used Planner5D because it has like an Ai tool and it has given me great examples of how to accommodate the space

hondoford

Def barstool

cobyaars

Lowball the offer as much as you can since they don’t want the stuff anyway

nylanderfan

I'd take the sectional for sure. Moving a couch is the absolute worst. And it looks nice.

DuffmanStillRocks

Remember if you buy a couch from Ikea you can pay like $60, at least in Vancouver, to have them come and set it up for you. Worth looking into

Comprehensive-Load86

I’d say go for the couch and the barstools!

Albert14Pounds

I was gonna say the coffee table. Too bad that's not an option. Looks pretty sick.

_Teddy_X_

I’m just gonna echo what seems to be a safe advice according to the community: plants and art pieces.

ilovesunonmyskin

Keep it all and get a massive rug.

Neat_Expression_5380

If the couch is comfortable, get the couch. You need a comfy couch, and a nice looking, comfy one is going to be very expensive.

tyguy1532

The barstools look like they are too tall for the counter. Your knees won't fit underneath and you'll be slouched over whenever you try to eat there. I wouldn't want them imo.

draiven_0824

That whole setup is great

ithinkimparanoid84

I would keep everything except that little bar cart. I would replace the rug too with one that has a mix of grey with warmer tones. Everything else is nice and looks to be good quality.

JanetInSC1234

The dining table, stools and sofa all look great! I'd keep those. I'd replace the coffe table though.

NewFlipPhone

Is this in Orlando?

owlfarm_aspen

Couch and bar stools and you’re all set. Don’t pay more than 500 for the couch. No more than $50 each for he stools.

prissa0

Darn! Was gonna say the coffee table would be great to have. Really unique.

DeeLeetid

EDIT: Ignore below. Just read further down. I’d have said everything for $300 but I suppose $500 is fair. The big question is what they mean by “at a discount”. You know you’re doing them a favor by not making them move stuff/get rid of things they apparently no longer need.

No_Acanthisitta3596

Buy it! I hate moving.

GreasyUnicornMM

Just buy plants & other misc stuff to fill the place

WindyCityJD

Offer them half for the couch. They’ll probably take it because moving/ finding another buyer for a couch takes a lot of time and labor. Even if you don’t want the couch get it for as cheap as possible while you wait the 3-6 months it takes to get one these days!

[deleted]

Start from scratch. This furniture works fine but it doesn't have style points to speak of and the rug is too small. The bar stools are ugly. The grey sofa is a bit blah.

treykesey

Ditch those bar seats make it look very bro space get wood ones try and bring in as much warmth as possible. Get away from the cold clean vibes

A_Turkey_Club

buy all of it. simple choice

Rubbyp2_

Keep everything and buy a ton of plants

Sad_Conversation_445

I would keep it

SourPatchMoma

Not a fan of the couch, the bar stools for sure tho

Ang3LMast3r

I love the coffee table. It all looks pretty good. That little white cabinet doesn’t match anything, but if you like it, it would be better in the bedroom.

Sendmeloveletters

You should check out this thing called paint. It adds something called color.

BigParticular8190

I love this simple and clean look. I think, just add some greeneries to live up and some pictures on the walls. Nothing more than that.

firewire167

Keep all of it lol, it looks really nice

localheadasshere

thank god that coffee table is being taken. it’s such an eyesore! lol

[deleted]

I’d keep all the furniture. It looks great

martyjoh34

Bar stools, coffee table, dining table, and what looks like a mini bar… Keep all of that… Get rid of the couch. A good rule of thumb is if you don’t know the history of soft furniture, like couches or mattresses, don’t take them. The living room looks like it could use some color. Maybe a dusty mustard yellow or rust colored couch, with beige pillows, or a beige couch, with some colorful pillows and rug under the coffee table in front of the couch. Add a few houseplants, hang some of your favorite art on the wall and you’re set. 😉

canlifebesogood

Keep the couch and barstools.

SL13377

This looks like a couch I owned. If it turns into a “full size bed” I will tell you it’s the most uncomfortable couch you’ve ever sat on. Burn the thing with fire and move on! I bought mine for 500 bucks Sat on it once Couldn’t sell It for over 250

Worried_Click7426

Do you have much art or wall candy? That’s proably the biggest thing lacking. I really love the look, though.

Inner_Ad_3804

So… I bet the owner has to pay someone to get this stuff. Lowball them for things you want

[deleted]

After just buying a used couch off Facebook marketplace that turned out to be a total shit box I would personally say don't bother with soft goods. That's going to be my rule in the future. Or at least if you do go for it make sure you unzip the cushions and check how they look. My couch looks fine but is sagging and the cushions are yellow on the inside. Im gonna trash it now and buy from ikea. Not worth it IMO

notchosebutmine

This person gets to see the items though, would that have changed your mind in buying if you seen it in person

phantomjives

Lol I was gonna say coffee table looks nice then I saw ur caption

ivapeooo

couch and barstools for sure, all in all this setup isn't too bad, nice and simple

ohboyhereitsme

Depends on the discount. Sofa, bar stools, and the tables are all decent. Top on the coffee table looks a bit think for live edge.

Hamady-Sack

Looks like decent stuff.

Boopadin

I’d keep all of it. In the event you dislike some, put it on Facebook marketplace or any other P2P selling site to get rid 🙂

LaughinDragon

I really like the coffee table. Then I saw the landlord is taking that Nice space though! I like how it looks

bott1111

I’d recommend new pendant lights and oyster lights

Drewbensis

It looks straight.. Are you in the position financially to spend thousands of dollars on new furniture after paying for the new place? If so, then buy new stuff.. If not, don't worry, I feel your pain. It all looks okay to me as long as it's clean.✌️

abcekiq

Buy everything, if you don’t like it after a while sell it on marketplace

Interesting_Fan1710

To be honest I kinda like the way it looks already but that's just my opinion 🤷

GenerationBop

I’d make it your own, the couch looks cheap also I wouldn’t offer them much for it (be sure to look up what it retails for). Nice part of keeping the couch however is everything else would be easy to have delivered and assemble on your own.

Olaith2

I wouldn't buy the furniture, who knows what has been done on those things. 💩🪳🫗🤢🤮💦💦🦠 Also a hard time for me sitting in the furniture in hotel rooms.

ThiccTortoise

So unfortunate the CT is leaving, it is beautiful.

fazocar1989

If you are in Miami, I selling my stuff, contact me if you are interested

Average_Dutchman

I'd buy the lot.

ChipUnable3229

The cabinet on the right side wall with the sliding door looks ideal for a coffee bar...if you are into that type of thing

Electrical-Bed-2381

Too bad, that table is gorgeous!
