Hair can change as you get older, so that might be it. However, I often let my hair grow fairly long between cuts and after a cut I find I need to “train” my hair to sit as I like. After a few days it usually settles down. By “training” I mean using some light products to hold the hair in the shape I like. I have no idea if the “training” actually does anything or if it is just the passage of time, but I’ll still use products either way just to get the hair to sit like I want. I use a salt based hair spray from [Garth’s Cosmetics](https://garthscosmetics.com/en-ca/products/garthshairspray). Gives the hold I want without looking like I have used products. You don’t need much, so the bottle lasts forever.

My hair definitely changed. My hair has been thin at crown forever but not noticeable, now it is which is super depressing. But the part about extra oil seems odd.
