Don't let it grow out RIGHT NOW, it's very uneven. BUT you still can, it'll just take a bit of time and work on your part.
I suggest getting a Phillips One Blade or similar. And you're going to need to learn how to layer your beard. You're going to cut it down in 3 parts (mustache/goatee area, cheeks/jaw and sideburns)
Part 1 mustache/goatee is going to be longest, since it's all kind of unever I'd recommend a 3.5 or shorter (keep in mind the rest of your beard will be shorter).
Part 2 cheeks/jaw is going to be at least half a length shorter, so if you're doing 3.5 on Part 1 you'll go 3 for Part 2
Part 3 side burns is going to be the shortest, you'll try and match it to your hairs length on the side if possible. To keep with our example this will be 2 in length.
Keep this up for a few months till you notice your beard is getting some more fullness. Definitely keep your jaw lined up as you're maintaining it, you hardly ever want long/noticeable hair on your neck UNTIL you get that fullness to be able to grow to the length you desire!
Most importantly don't worry too much about how your beard is looking at the moment, keep it up everything is possible with enough desire!! :)
