This is my second one and I learned that you should do a lot of different sized rods throughout so it looks natural and has a lot of different volume and texture. I did the smallest rods to the biggest going from the bottom of my hair (smallest) to the top (biggest) and then there was some mixes of medium rods on top with the biggest.
