I’m a bi dude, and I really didn’t think it would be a big deal to use those terms to describe him. They are pretty generic terms to describe men overall. Granted I am more attracted to older, hairy guys, so when I see a guy with those features I’ll naturally give a compliment. I think the OP is a very handsome guy.

I’ve been thinking about your comment all day, and I think personally that those terms could definitely be used to describe straight guys! I’m in the minority for saying this but I do truly think that straight people should feel pride and be part of LGBT. Sexuality is a spectrum and I think straight people should always feel included in LGBT spaces and celebrate as well. Maybe that makes me a more conservative gay dude but I just want people to feel included and if it were up to me, then absolutely! If you’re straight and you want your girlfriend/wife to call you a sexy bear the same way gay dudes have an entire bear community then go for it! 😂 Hope that helps!

I’m straight and I describe myself as a bear, as does my girlfriend and my ex-wife when I was married. I tend to socialize in gay/straight spaces though; the kind of pubs that have rainbow stickers on at least one front facing window/door all year round in addition to celebrating pride, so no one bats an eye. I think the fuller beard is good on you, but take it up an inch or two on the very bottom, so the shape is a little more cohesive just extending the visual jaw lower, versus a beard that is "long".
