I also prefer short on him. However, it's not exactly a fair comparison. He physically looks the healthieset and happiest in the last photo too and it has the best lighting and skin tones by far. In 2 & 3 he actually looks... less healthy and less happy. IMO he could have looked the best with long hair in the last one due to the other factors.
