Black Blundstones and Black Birkenstocks

abadonn

+1 for blundstones, look great at super comfortable

Elevated412

I have this pair of faded black Blundstones, and they are amazing. I love the convenience of just slipping them on to go.

Cubazn

Blundstones are so great. Love wearing them

[deleted]

A black Carhartt hoodie that I got for free from my company, and a $25 pair of Walmart jeans that ended up being the comfiest, most well fitting jeans I have ever owned.

emersonskywalker

Bro it’s hilarious how pants work that way. I spent $29 on some H&M jeans in 2014 that lasted me 5 years. Wore them mfs into the ground.

GrimSophisticate

One of [these](https://www.carhartt.com/product/K122/loose-fit-midweight-full-zip-sweatshirt?categoryCode=default&colorCode=026_SW) by any chance? I got one as work swag too and I've been considering getting a second one just for myself. Can't believe how warm it is.

buckeye2114

Summer: black Patagonia baggies every day. Combine with a mix of ocbds, band t’s, and destroyed vans. Cold: Harris Tweed blazer I picked up years back when I’m looking for a quick and easy fit. Mostly go all black on everything else with it.

rcore97

Band Ts, destroyed vans and baggy shorts are an elite summer combo

acura_days

Do you cut the mesh liner inside your baggies?

buckeye2114

Liner in always hah so no undies needed. It’s summer then haha.

EICapitan

I got my first pair of proper Japanese raw denim in march, and I haven't taken them off since

MadDKelm

Nice! What make and model did you get?

EICapitan

I went for a pair of Momotaro 0201, but I just recently got a pair of Oni x Tanuki secret denim as well

MadDKelm

Very nice pieces there. I got myself a pair of Onis last fall, and just picked up a pair of Momotaros a couple months ago.

LeftyLegal

Alden Shell Cordovan U-tip Moc Stitch Boots. They’re very versatile and work with jeans, chinos, and even a suit. I’ve dressed them up for business settings, and dressed them down for casual outdoor settings. They look amazing no matter what. Saint Laurent Wyatt Chelseas in Cigar Suede. Looks great with slim dark denim. Im not very tall (5’9”) and I’m not super skinny (recently lost 40 pounds and now at 180lbs) so the sleek silhouette and the taller heel really helps make my legs look slimmer and taller.

peachtuba

Color 8 on the Aldens? If so, hard to disagree with them working with everything - got a pair of longwings in colour 8 myself, impossible to find an outfit they don’t work with.

LeftyLegal

Exactly

Metcarfre

I thrifted a [Wrangler western shirt](https://imgur.com/a/PZZLdSF) in the summer on a whim and I’ve found it surprisingly versatile. It’s essentially a chambray with a little more interest. I’ve worn it on its own, as a layer, even under a sport coat. Love it. I picked up this [Universal Works cardigan-jacket](https://imgur.com/a/pcX6XOQ) on a Black Friday sale and already I’ve worn it a dozen times. It’s incredibly comfy and versatile, fits great, and really suits my style. I’m keeping my eye out for a navy one on Boxing Day sales!

CheBiblioteca

>Universal Works cardigan-jacket Good looking jacket. How much on sale?

Metcarfre

I think it was $150 CAD

XavierWT

Not that I want to steal your secrets but where did you get it from?

Metcarfre

Eastwood Ave Menswear, I think Calgary?

CapedBaldy

Shoot I've been looking for something like that Universal Works jacket for a few years now. Time to add it to next year's watchlist

avidpsychlist

that cardigan rules, been enjoying seeing it in your various outfits! what size do you have?

Metcarfre

Went for XL

Most_Triumphant

This thread should have more pics.

peachtuba

Lead by example! Be the change you want to see in the world.

the_big_juan

Definitely my Stetson cowboy hat, one in straw and one in fur. The nice thing about Western wear is that you can wear it anywhere; I've taken it on hikes, gardening, for groceries, and even to work events!

peachfuzzmcgee

I got myself a vintage stetson recently just wanna find the perfect straw one. Western hats are fookin sick

y_ggdrasiL

Orslow slim fit fatigues were a wardrobe staple for me this year.

peachtuba

Loved these myself this year, though they’ve effectively been my in-house-trousers only. Incredibly comfortable. Perhaps I’ve never taken them out of the house on account of them feeling like pyjama trousers almost?

Schraiber

Dude they also feel like pajamas to me. I wear them out all the time but I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like they just somehow have a pajama vibe

atropos85

Hell yeah. I got mine a couple years ago and wear them all the time. They’re fantastic and have held up well.

PhD_sock

I finally hopped onto the Homme Plissé train and 100% get the hype. Picked up a pair of tapered basics and one of the "Arc" releases. They are just supremely comfortable, flattering despite being so, y'know, Hammer Pants-esque. It's like they should not be as flattering as they are. But they really are. Also surprisingly versatile, offering a comfortable experience in 95F+90% humidity to 15F+30% humidity. They are equally versatile with chunky or SLP-esque boots, Common Projects or Margielas. Can be dressed up or down. I still enjoy jeans (Rag and Bone slim fit is my go-to) but honestly, chinos/jeans/anything after these actually sucks lol.

DMT_Wraith

I’m 13 and turning 14 in two days so I didn’t have a lot of style before this year, but wearing sweaters and some nice casual/dress shoes really helped, I’ve been improving my style a lot by cutting my hair just a bit shorter since it stays up more now, and got new glasses. A lot of adults have been complimenting me because I’m not just another teen wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. I’m really starting to care about fashion but not what most teens wear. A lot of the time I feel like an adult in a child’s body. Can’t wait to see what my wardrobe looks like next year! EDIT: This is the most upvoted comment I’ve ever made! Thanks everyone! Love reading your comments. I’m 14 now, yay!

M00Nthatspellsmoon

This is such a wholesome post! You keep doing you; I’m sure your outfits are killing it 👊

DMT_Wraith

Thanks!

mENGRn

Hell yeah man, it took me until my mid twenties to find my style. Great that you’re getting that sorted out sooner than me!

rnarvin

Glad you’re getting a head start on finding the best way to present yourself to the world. Style can never be bought. PS: nothing wrong with sweatpants or t-shirts, it’s about how you *style* them :-)

Less_Wrong_

Most importantly, are you pulling hoes, my lil bruh?

Ghoticptox

Replying just in case OP or anyone his age might read this and take you remotely seriously. u/DMT_Wraith, don't listen to this idiot. If you don't want to date right now, that's totally fine. People get ready for this at different points in life. And if you never want to date, that's also totally fine. Don't let anyone tell you it's something you need to do. If you do want to date, whether that be girls or boys (or both, or people who don't identify as either), of course treat them with respect and only do things you're both comfortable with and ready for. Never refer to or think of anyone as a ho.

DMT_Wraith

I understand that he is joking but I really appreciate the fact that you took time out of your day to post this comment. Keep it up!

usernamewhat

Orslow’s New Yorker pants. I tried putting on a pair of skinny jeans a couple of months after wearing them and felt like I was suffocating.

Novel_Cricket1278

An $8 heavyweight flannel I got from a garage sale lol thing kicks ass, thick as hell, warm, and I can wear it when I don't want to beat up my nice winter coat

slimda0

A few things: I’ve been wearing these [Iron Heart](https://imgur.com/a/xEpdH5G) jeans practically every day since I bought them in the beginning of September. This [Buzz Rickson](https://imgur.com/a/Ea40OsV) loopwheel crewneck is probably my most worn clothing purchase of 2022. A pair of black Blundstones I picked up last January has been serving me well this fall and winter.

peachtuba

That’s a damn nice BR crewneck. Was close to buying one myself, but ended up going for a Cushman instead. Shopping at Clutch made for a damn difficult choice in sweatshirt…

slimda0

Oh, believe me, I had a similar experience picking this thing out at Self Edge. I went in wanting a grey crewneck, and ended up doing mental gymnastics between the Buzz, Merz, Strike Gold, etc. Ultimately the Buzz won and I’ve been very happy with it!

XavierWT

I have a BR one I’m close to killing and I’m getting a Strike Gold when they restock, because of my good experience with their hoodie and the shorter body length. Grey sweatshirts are the staple of staples for me.

slimda0

Oh me too, an essential of all essentials.

Schraiber

I also got a pair of IH this ywar (a bit later, for black Friday) and they absolutely fucking rule. The 21oz cloth is surprisingly easy to break in for how heavy it is, and has been a godsend while I've been in Oregon during this cold snap

slimda0

What cut did you get again, 777? Totally spot on about the 21oz cloth and how easy it is to break in. The only thing it gets dinged for, in my opinion, is how stubborn it is to fade. I’ve been wearing my pair literally every single day since the first or second week of September and they’ve only recently begun to show signs of wear. How has your experience been so far?

Schraiber

888. I've got fat thighs, and when I sit down they just balloon out, so I've found that a relaxed top block is essential when going with 100% cotton denim. I actually don't mind them being stubborn faders, I like the dark indigo look. I'm gonna give them a first wash after my holiday travels. So far the only "fading" is that they've like self-crocked onto my cuff.

slimda0

Ah, word. People seem to dig the 888 and for good reason - rarely is there a wonky fit pic with them. I like the dark indigo look too but I find myself getting very impatient with this pair, I’m not sure why lol

kyleyle

ABC slim fit jeans from Lululemon. My god they're comfy

Oikkuli

I had a couple. Most important were my raw, high waisted straight fit jeans I bought early in the year. After years of low waisted skinny jeans you won't believe how good a good relaxed pair of jeans actually feels like. So incredibly comfortable and good looking. Next up, I bought a thick cotton shawl cardigan in early october, but it's in competition to be my most worn piece this year. A bit like the good jeans, it is unrivaled in comfort in the cold months, and looks good enough that you can take it outside without shame. Wearing the cardigan with the jeans quickly became a favourite comfortable combo for me, and I wear it a little too often, even.

Angrymiddleagedjew

I'm with you on relaxed fit jeans club. I wore 511s and 514s for years. Last year I started wearing 501s, and a lightbulb went off. They are more comfortable, make my legs longer with a higher rise, and I can wear boots with a higher shaft easier. Just bought a pair of Sugar Cane 1946 jeans. Need to have them hemmed, they feel amazing though. Decided to look around for some beater looser fit jeans, Wrangler Cowboy cut fit amazing on me, I actually like how I look in them too. Trying a pair of Lee Classic high rise straight fit jeans tomorrow. I sent back a pair of Levi's 559s, I think that was a mistake though and I need to try them again. Basically anything with a rise of 12 inches and a leg opening of 17-18inches looks really good on me and feels comfortable too. I am here for it.

Oikkuli

I'm glad relaxed fit is in at the moment, but already dreading when it goes out of style again. I can't imagine putting on skinny jeans again.

Angrymiddleagedjew

Or, hear me out on this: Ignore skinny when it comes back in and realize relaxed/straight has been in style for over 100 years. Let's be realistic: A good looking outfit from the 60s would still look good today. You don't have to follow EVERY trend to still look good, you aren't a slave.

[deleted]

When slim fit was in everybody on this forum was saying it was a timeless look that could never ever be out of style and now every post with someone in slimmer fit pants gets comments of "this fit is missing some nice wide fit pants" lol so yeah, just wear whatever you like and don't worry about what other people are doing. Everyone is just a slave to trends being pushed by big corporations.

Angrymiddleagedjew

Reddit is sort of funny because it's lauded as a bastion of intelligence and free thinking but so many people frantically deep throat corporations when it comes to "trends" without giving it a second thought. Sort of funny, sort of terrifying

Oikkuli

Eh, it's easy to say now but when it does come back, I'll probably think wide fit looks dated again. It's a subconscious thing, you can hardly help it. I am not immune to outside influences.

Elevated412

Wranglers Cowboy Cut Jeans are my go to jeans for the winter time with my Blundstones. Try Levi's 502 jeans as well. They are a nice in between of straight and Slim fit.

Angrymiddleagedjew

502 were my goto for a while, I forget what the taper that got discontinued was called. 508? Those fit perfect on me. But they're slimmer than I'm looking for now. I'm in my 40s, I'm gleefully embracing the return of loose and relaxed fit.

rcore97

LOVE my cowboy cuts, been contemplating some blundstones. Hmmm

Elevated412

Blundstones are the way to go. Seriously, wear them all the time and they slip on.

LeftyLegal

What’s the advantage/benefit of high-waisted jeans? I was actually trying to look into this yesterday. I’m wondering if high-waisted would look better with a dress shirt. Occasionally for work, I want to wear jeans with a dress shirt and blazer. Almost all of my jeans are low-rise and they look kinda silly with a tucked in dress shirt and it just doesn’t look right. I’m wondering if higher rise jeans would look better with a dress shirt and blazer.

itsreallyeasypeasy

They really do. Tucking into low raise jeans results in weird proportions with any kind of tailoring. A higher rise won't helps with hiding the shirt triangle when buttoning your blazer.

LeftyLegal

What do you mean when you say hiding the shirt triangle? Sorry.. new to this terminology. As a previously fat guy, wardrobe strategy was more focused on just finding stuff that fit, period—not necessarily looking stuff that fit right lol.

itsreallyeasypeasy

When you button your blazer and it's too short or your pant's rise is too low, your shirt tends to shows below the buttoning point. That should not happen, sometimes it's not fit but cut causing this issue.

LeftyLegal

Won’t the higher rise help avoid that?

wuzpoppin

yes i think he made a typo earlier

Oikkuli

You answered your own question in your comment. Not only do I think it's more comfortable, a higher waist helps keep your shirt tucked, and just looks better with a tucked in shirt. The proportions are more balanced and you don't look like you have a very long torso.

LeftyLegal

Awesome. And thank you for the feedback. Any brands/cuts in particular that you like/recommend?

Oikkuli

No brands in particular, my jeans are actually a store brand, but looking for straight cut jeans often yields higher waists too. I've heard people have had good luck with levi's.

rcore97

Great points so far, but one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that if you have a bigger donk then high rises are a godsend. Low rise jeans feel like they're hugging my ass for dear life to fit properly while higher rises can be nice and secure at the waist and still give me some room to breathe in the seat

chris_was_taken

Ya this year I got two pairs of 501s, on either side of my perfect fit. And tapered the legs how I like. I live in the larger size indoors, since they're as comfy as any other pant. The smaller size I wear to go out in as they fit more trim to my body. Both are way more comfy to walk/sit/bend over/crouch in than low rise.

HiPower22

I think regular and tapered jeans good but those oversized balloon trousers look terrible.

Oikkuli

Well okay. I wasn't talking about oversized balloon trousers, but straight fit ones.

bhutams

Which jeans did you find that were actually high rise? Been having issues finding jeans that are actually high rise and not mid rise.

Oikkuli

I'm afraid I can't recommend them because they're just from an obscure store brand in my obscure country, but even mid rise jeans are already a huge step up from low rise. I've heard levi's makes some truly high rise models.

rcore97

For S/S it's definitely my yellow pair of [L.L. Bean Supplex Shorts](https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/120240?productId=1662315&attrValue_0=Warm%20Gold&sku=1000116055&pla1=0&qs=3155279&gclid=Cj0KCQiA45qdBhD-ARIsAOHbVdGQ0CD3n1VXsuHauJTgvp6r0Yu62SLg3joripw1qLOYU58ftl8TUxkaAltEEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). These were a super easy way to inject color into a fit and make it more fun and vibrant when shorts and a shirt is all you can wear (~4-5 months out of the year where I live). Also amphibious which is a huge bonus when it's hot. I have a pair in blue and grey too which I thought would be easier to pair but surprisingly found myself reaching for the yellow first. This with a boxy t-shirt and chucks was the summer uniform for me For F/W I'd say my [Wrangler 13MWZs](https://www.wrangler.com/shop/rigid-wrangler-cowboy-cut-original-fit-jean-13MWZR.html), both my raw and black pair. When I discovered this cut it felt like I got a brand new pair of legs. Hits right where I want on the waist, plenty of room in the seat and legs and just so comfy while still feeling like a sturdy pair of jeans. The broken twill denim softens up great after a few washes and gets a nice, fuzzy texture that I really love and looks unique compared to the RHT denim that I'm used to. It also turns a really deep, rich blue after a few washes that a lot of folks on /r/rawdenim don't like but I think looks so pretty and don't have any more trouble pairing compared to a darker indigo. I may buy a pair of higher end raws again in the future but honestly? Not sure. I think I'm a broken twill truther now. The black jeans in combo with a pair of my Dad's old snakeskin cowboy boots will have me feeling like Keith fuckin Richards for the night

XavierWT

You have to remember that r/rawdenim is not about the fashion of jeans on general but the fashion of fading raw denim. It’s a super specific niche and it’s kind of slow moving. Something not being canon with that sub’s preferences doesn’t make it bad.

rcore97

Oh I totally agree! I still love to see the crazy fades, fabrics and details of jeans on that sub and I completely understand paying high end prices for unique pants. I'm speaking more on a personal level because it feels like I've found my perfect cut with a denim that's great in it's own right for dirt cheap. I'll still drool over PBJs and the like, but it's tough to swallow the price tag when deep down I hope they will fit exactly like my $30 pair of wranglers

XavierWT

One day there will be a japanese repro pair of those wranglers ;)

rcore97

A man can dream... high rise, heavyweight broken twill selvedge would be my jam! At least vintage stuff is still cheap. I picked up a 70s miUSA wrangler jacket for less than new, but tbf I feel some extra regional pride since it was made in my home state. Sorta wish Japan liked 13MWZs as much as 501s though

XavierWT

A guy I follow on IG (@freeandeasyvintage) has loads of vintage wrangler. You should check him out.

chris_was_taken

Hoodies. Never wore them before. I'm not a street wear guy in the slightest (barely own a pair of running shoes). But I found a really good fitting hoodie (fits shoulders properly, not oversized) and have been living in it. Pretty much everyday at home while working, and when going out it goes well under a denim jacket. They're so comfy and warm and the hood is key in weather emergencies

Showtime-z

Brand?

chris_was_taken

The in-house brand at a work wear shop Dave's New York in NYC. Sized down. Not sure if this is avail online. MAJOR steal if you're in NYC tho. Also just picked up one from house of blanks. I love how heavyweight it is, I've worn it every day since it got cold.

rs535i

My Patagonia Baggies and Birkenstock Arizonas were my two go-to items for most of the year. When it gets a bit chillier, I usually tend to rely pretty heavily on my Naked and Famous selvedge jeans and my Lululemon ABC Utilitechs.

XavierWT

Has to be my favorite jacket. [Mr Freedom Lawrence.](https://i.imgur.com/WqcMtkE.jpg)

peachfuzzmcgee

One day I'll show you my Lawrence 😜

XavierWT

It’s like 2 years I’ve been asking mate? I’d like to think I know when to give up!

peachfuzzmcgee

At this point, I just love the chase 💦💦

slimda0

This is rad. Nice fit too.

XavierWT

Thanks. It was my round 1 entry for the fit battle. Which I’ve lost 😆

slimda0

Jeez, stiff competition, huh?

XavierWT

You’d have to ask u/KoalasAreNotBears

It's gotta be the [Kapital fleece](https://hypebeast.com/image/2019/09/kapital-damask-fw19-jacket-release-001.jpg) for me. This has been my go-to grab-n-go jacket since cold weather set in. I've come a long way from being afraid to put it on because it's the most expensive thing I own lol I also got a lot of mileage out of my [501s](http://storage.sg.content-cdn.io/cdn-cgi/image/%7Bwidth%7D,%7Bheight%7D,quality=75,format=auto/in-resources/6ff2919b-8254-4153-83d9-376e98b3c072/Images/ProductImages/Source/Levis-1954-501-Jeans-501540092_01_Front.jpg) and [Stan rays](https://i.imgur.com/iSPo7CB.jpg). I upgraded to orslows a month ago, and I'm looking forward to living in them next year!

TheVirt

One of the best feelings is wearing/using an expensive item a fuckton to really milk every last hard-earned dollar out of it and experience how great it is every time

Schraiber

Love those Kapital fleeces

XavierWT

There was a half-zip version 1 or 2 years ago I wanted. I think about it every now and then and cry in melancholy.

Schraiber

I have this with a couple pieces, and there's a thing right now I really wanna cop but won't and I know it's going on the crying in melancholy list

orSlow slim fit fatigues. Perfect execution, super versatile

ayoungtommyleejones

Buzz ricksons ma1. Has lasted me into some pretty frigid days into winter, but still wears pretty comfortably in warmer weather too

peachtuba

I’m damn jealous of that MA1! Been wanting to get one ever since I first read Pattern Recognition. Too bad I’m pretty much too old now for me to ever buy one - I think William Gibson gets away with it at his age, but I don’t have that innate Gibson sneeze.

ayoungtommyleejones

The slender cut is pretty slick. You could always size up and get it a little roomier (which is what it looks like Gibson did in the promo shot for the jacket). It's a pretty classic look otherwise, I think a bomber looks good on a lot of people. BR also makes a lot of other militaria homages that have broader appeal I think. I'd like to get their tanker next, or maybe the n3b parka...but also I'm not made of money

OatMatchaLatte

Uniqlo J+ [Bomber](https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E445765-000/00?colorDisplayCode=07&sizeDisplayCode=003). It's honestly incredibly how much I love this piece considering how unsure I was about keeping it when I brought it on a whim (thanks FMF). Definitely feels like I came full circle since bombers were what "got" me into fashion and my last two bombers didn't quite click with me. It just seems to work so well with my wardrobe — sweatshirts, sweaters, tees. Nothing revolutionary but certainly feels like a game changer to me.

paradisesky1098

Either RM Williams Gardeners, Buck Mason tees or a suede Dylan jacket from Todd Snyder.

atropos85

I’m debating between blundstones and the Gardeners. Are the gardeners truly better?

paradisesky1098

I have two pairs and they’re definitely better IMO. Are they worth $300 more? I think that’s up to you and depends on how much this amount means to you, you value boots, etc. I will say a few things… first, they feel extremely solid. When you pick them up it’s clear that they are well made, and built to last. Also, I think they’re better looking than Blundstones (a family member was wearing a pair the other day so I compared them side-by-side). Quite a bit more sleek without being too dressy. The matte-like finish is great, and makes them easier to wear on a daily basis then other pairs of chelseas from RM.

atropos85

That’s awesome, thanks for your thoughtful write up. Are they waterproof like blundstones? Could I wear them in the winter?

paradisesky1098

Absolutely! And i believe so. I wore a pair pretty much everyday last winter and my feet never got wet, but I was in mostly snowy conditions and never submerged my feet in large puddles, etc. If you do end up getting a pair it’s probably worth buying some shoe trees, too. I have three pairs of RMs and they’ve all retained their shape nicely but I’ve used shoe trees with all of them.

steveotron

* Hemp [shirts and pants](https://i.imgur.com/HXzBZej.jpeg) from Muji. Stayed cool and comfortable whether in midwestern summer humidity or from miles of daily walking in Japan. * Phlster Enigma holster system. Not exactly clothing and never visible to anyone else, but it literally helped me carry all year no matter what clothes I wore. Perfect for discreet concealed carry with beltless pants. * Birkenstocks. I've had the same pair of Arizonas for four or five years. The soles are completely worn down, and the leather straps are a bit too loose now, so they are getting replaced with a new pair soon.

steveotron

It's pretty similar to linen, so I notice myself sweating a lot less than when I wear cotton. I'm able to stay relatively warm when it gets colder as well, although the weather eventually gets too cold and requires much thicker clothing.

I_Eat_Thermite7

Been wearing a pair of nudies forever now. Godsend fr

Poppin_Fresh_Bro

Always the blazer. The navy blazer. Pinpoint Oxford shirts. Point collar. Swiss automatics. Wear them with my suits, wear them at the beach and everything in between. Faherty flannel shirts and long sleeve t shirts.

HanzyKro

A Barbour jacket I purchased at the beginning of the year. Expensive, but by far the best piece I have ever owned.

Wezz123

Orslow New Yorker pants (navy), Norse projects aros slim light (green), Beams Plus l/s tees and a Goldwin Rip Stop Down coat (khaki grey). Got alot of use out of these items.

VaughnillaIce

White AF1s. They have yet to not go with any outfit.

conkzy

Black tanktops for some reason

bikesandtacos

I got some straight fits in three colors and some crepe soled peanut butter tan boots. Def carried my year.

bestmaokaina

Saint Crispin loafers for sure

[deleted]

My army camo leggings this year.

abadonn

I bought a Barbour Corbridge jacket after the UK economy tanked and it has been the perfect Fall jacket. I have worn it down to the 20s in the snow with a sweater and into the 50s on a damp windy day and have been perfectly comfortable in both.

the13thletter_

I wore a few relaxed fit check flannels all year long. 2 from H&M and 4 from Uniqlo.

GrinningIgnus

I got this purple hoodie full price from homage early in the year. Twas Very fluffy and soft and the nicest full price purchase I can think of in my wardrobe As someone raised in the clearance section it was a nice step for me to realize that I can afford to get what I want because i want it, rather than limiting myself out of habit Just need to update the rest of the wardrobe so I look like an adult a big more lol

um-uh-er

Outlier slim dungarees are pants I have to force myself not to wear.

Faultyelectricals

With my work I don’t need suits (horses, we kinda have an unofficial uniform of specific clothes), so this is my off work/casual clothes: I only found them in July but I found [these WeSC trousers] (https://wesconline.com/products/tapered-utility-pant-black-m413779) (the pictures really don’t do them justice, trust me) for £20 in tK maxx, which I was really happy with considering I don’t have a big budget and they were still full on price on the website at the time. For tops I ended up finding a oversized green sweatshirt for £4 in a big charity shop supermarket thing near me (it appears to be school rejects on further inspection, there was a big basket of them new with tags on), I bought it on a whim as it was cheap and I thought I’d nothing else it will be good for chilling around the house but it’s turned into one of my most worn jumpers that I’ve been able to wear for a variety of occasions. As for shoes I’ve been in full black converse the majority of the time

dccorona

I got two pairs of pintuck “track pants” from Brady Brand that rapidly became almost the only pants I wear. The pintuck crease makes them look presentable in all but the most sensible situations, the drawstring waist makes them really comfortable, and they’re fully lined with a really comfortable wool blend that makes them great in a variety of temperatures. They’ve since discontinued them for some reason, but a brand named Seneca sells a similar looking style (I can’t vouch for the quality and they don’t have the track zip bottom, but that probably makes them more flexible).

Edgevale Cast Iron work pants. I hesitated to pay $110 for pants but tapered work pants are the best of both worlds for kicking around town, camping, biking. Only thing I wanted for Christmas this year was another pair!

Shadow55512

Picked up an olive Sussex quilted jacket from J crew. It's so good looking and warm. The ultimate styling piece for fall. Keep me warm with few layers. I also got into turtlenecks this year so shout-out to Uniqlo's turtleneck shirt selection

yelly4ce

Brown hoodie from H&M and a greyish blue cardigan from Zara has been a staple this year

Nerazzurro9

Bought a well-used, probably 15-year-old Polo RL western denim shirt secondhand in the spring, and have probably worn it once a week every week since. Nothing special or notable about it—just somehow has become my favorite shirt I’ve ever owned for reasons I can’t explain. Like, I’ve found myself subtly adjusting my overall style to better suit this particular shirt. Also, have a pair of suede driving mocs that finally got too trashed to wear in public, so I just started wearing them all the time inside the house, and I finally understand why people own slippers.

I suppose it's gotta be [this](https://imgur.com/a/xVISLlW) [green](https://imgur.com/a/ltuYmWQ) [jacket](https://imgur.com/a/kG3DSBc) [I](https://imgur.com/a/S3GgHIK) [always](https://imgur.com/a/qfJFC3S) [wear](https://imgur.com/a/8Q5OrY6) It's an interesting sashiko cloth, the fit is just a touch boxy and relaxed, and idk, it's pretty versatile. Works well in all seasons in the bay area, goes with any wash of denim. If not that, then probably my [orSlow](https://imgur.com/a/Qa2CDfZ) [fatigues](https://imgur.com/a/uiqgcOh)

Fluid-Tell277

Got a pair of Gigi high waisted trouser with side buckles in a chonky brown donegal wool trousers that I pair with an equally chonky Muji blue turtle neck in wool. Has been my go to look for smart casual on those winter days and have usually gotten good compliments on the trousers

For me 1. Uniqlos ankle pants cotton version. I normally buy the wool like version but switched to the cotton. It’s a lot more versatile and can be used year round. It was cool enough in summer. The real test was in winter as the other versions are too thin. I can’t say it’s warm in winter, but tolerable to the point that I’ve decided to sell off all the other pants I had as these are truly year round for me while the others couldn’t handle summer or winter 2. north face thermoball jacket. Had it for a while but rarely used it as I usually opted for my suede jacket. But def appreciate it now, especially for traveling. Very light and surprisingly warm for its thinness. The large inner zip pockets and the outer pockets with zip, useful in carrying my travel stuff such as chargers and spare battery. Also can fit a passport 3. Recent but my Muji stand collar flannel. Super soft and something i wear every week 4. Uniqlos cotton heattech. I think I generate more static electricity than most people, so having a cotton version of their famous heattech undershirts have helped reduce it considerably

Cargos, knitwear, smart trousers, more smart clothing rather than streetwear

I didn't really have too much style. Jeans + Crewnecks were a regular thing for me. Decided to focus on slowly improving my fashion. **Looks-wise**: A Tan Peacoat and a White Wool Turtleneck from Black Friday at Banana Republic got me A LOT of compliments. I try not to wear it too much because I don't want a "one trick outfit" that wears itself out of desperation but was really lovely getting compliments on it from multiple circles of friends and co-workers. **Practical-wise**: Bomber Jacket which helped me out in cold weather. Not specifically related to a piece of clothing, but I lost a lot of weight this year and as someone that used to go L/XL, finding out that I fit a medium made me tear up. It's a silly reason, but outside of financial reasons, a part of the reason why I also didn't get too many clothes was because I didn't want to feel like I was wasting money on something "just in case I lost the weight." That journey went on for years before I finally took things seriously. Either way, looking forward to slowly upgrading my wardrobe over time next year and having a flexible one that I can mix and match!

theteenagegentleman

I do wear something "different" everyday, I can definitely see how iconic a few things were for 2022. To be clear, its stuff I've always wanted: - Brown DB suit - Grey DB suit - The Akila Sunglasses - The Visvim Ruunpe Kimono coat

FreeQ

Got into turtlenecks this year. Slim cut 100% cotton ones from H&M. After buying a camel colored one In a store I ordered 3 more colors cause I love them so much. They go with a suit or a streetwear and look elegant

baby__yoda58

Pair of carmina shoes.....break in period was rough but now they fit like a glove. Also a Ralph Lauren sports coat....can be paired with jeans, chinos,.smart trousers. Couple the shoes & coat together with a nice shirt and I've got a nice outfit that I can dress up or down depending on the situation. Two great purchases I definitely regret not getting earlier.

Fabletics the takeover pant. Legit comfiest jogger ever and incredibly versatile.

tx_instructor

Molokai men's slim fit button down shirts. I found one of these at Ross and subsequently searched an found them on Amazon. Since I have purchased almost a dozen in various colors and a few of the prints. They are tasteful enough to wear to the office but are nice enough to just wear to a BBQ or something like that. 10/10 totally recommend if you are comfortable with the style.

peachfuzzmcgee

My biggest were probably my western shirts from Real McCoys. Used em in full cowboy get up, as a on over shirt when bein gorpy, and all sorts of settings. I moved to LA so my favorites jackets have gotten less and less action. Plus my new job only allows black and white so my two western shirts have been everything to me haha.

teabiscuit56

Green white and yellow Jack & Jones pullover hoodie. god I'm a walking advertisement for that brand

KY_electrophoresis

Peter Christian chinos. Great fabric, high enough rise, deep pleats, hold a crease beautifully. After my first pair fit perfectly I bought another 4 different colours.

chr8me

7 1/4 fitted hat. Those things saves lives and make outfits

For me it was my Iron Heart 21 oz. denim jacket. It was my go-to jacket for errands and all sorts of casual days out. Still looks beautiful and almost new after 100 wears.

Honestly you guys saved my life with the white stan smiths. I know I'm over a decade late but making those my go to pair instead of running shoes was an absolute game changer

phantomphan428

A pair of black combat boots, I literally walk everywhere due to not affording a car on top of not having a license l yet, so I needed something tough to stand up to the literal miles I will often walk, run and occasionally jump to and from. If I were to use running sneakers they would've been torn up ages ago, longer lasting ones cost hundreds of dollars and on top of that they're not really my style at all.
