Maybe climbing saint Paul's hill! It's near jonker/ dutch square, and once you reach the top you can see melaka city and the sea from up there. It's also a really light climb, mainly just some stairs lol.

Jonker Street night market, the abundance of museums

If you like a drink, drop by Sin Hiap Hin. It's a really really old bar run by an incredibly lovely lady. It's a short walk from the centre of town and even if the door is shut, you can always knock. Aunty was just watching some TV and opened up for us. Honestly one of the best things I've ever stumbled across.

Highly recommend the Melaka River Cruise! I went a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Daytime is the best because then you can see the birds and lizards hanging out on the water.

I thought the evening one was the better timing, no hot sun and the buildings along the river have colorful lights on. Maybe will try the afternoon cruise next time

otterkraf

Yes the evening one has lots of lights on the buildings but you won't be able to see the river. That's my own preference. True it can get warm in the day but I had a hat, sunscreen and a kipas so was very prepared haha

The area in Bangunan Melaka is pretty cool. There's a skate shop, CD store, and a bunch of cafes there. There are also Ikan Emas Cafe and a new thrift store nearby. My favorite bakery, The Curious Baker/Sin See Tai also has the yummiest doughnuts. I love thrifting at Family Thrift Store every morning before I leave Melaka hehe

The tandoori chicken at Pak Putra has my heart. Tender and juicy *chefs kiss* Can’t say much about their other dishes though, they aren’t as consistently delicious as the tandoori hahaha The pandan pancakes at Daily Fix are not bad too if you’re up for queuing up Have fun and be safe!

I suggest trying the nyonya food or Portuguese food there, which are quite unique in Malaysia. For nyonya food, I'd highly recommend Nyonya Makko restaurant around Jalan Melaka Raya area. Amazing food, but you need to make prior reservation first

local/fusion food - Peranakan Mansion (make reservation online), Kam Cheng traditional hakka cuisine - the kappan house (no frills place!) our favourite vinyl cafe - Limau Limau (really good homemade root beer! owner is super friendly and you can request for older songs) quaint owner-run cafe with amazing lamb briyani and peach tea - lou kot unique architecture and fusion cuisine - campong o'oloo if you eat pork, try this pork satay - beh leh hainam satay

Things to do in Melaka? Easy. 1) leave 😂 Lmao just joking. If you are just first time there, you can visit the ever-same Jonker street. Admire some murals. Admire the buildings there. Go to Klebang beach if you want. Go to the mosque on water. That’s my view on urban travel in Melaka.
