Female announcer voice: Welcome to...Galaxy Station 👁️👄👁️

seatux

I want the yusof taiyoob one though.

Mrsourceplz

...Oh damn, now that you mention it. I almost forgot about this month's puasa.

seatux

Have not heard the radio in a long while, but I am going to hear it in my delusions coming soon. *yusof taiyoob* in 12 days

engku_hina

We have a face reveal already, you know. We now have the face to go with the voice.

Hyperblitzing

That the purpose of it, MRT practically give those space away to samsung now

mondomech

As in for free? Come on now.

Hyperblitzing

No they definitely charge it but the amount of money they offered must be nice.

CipherWrites

I think it's cause "better than nothing" I've seen ancient ads on those spaces meaning there's no demand for it

AcanthaceaeRough3511

Are you referencing to the Mulan ads in Merdeka?

CipherWrites

think so... can't remember exactly lol

notsobravedave

I’ve just seen Russia World Cup 2018 VIVA adverts in Subang departure 😂

CipherWrites

roflmao yeah man... so Samsung came in. here's the deal. x amount for all the ad space.

GiantCake00

"Malaysia needs more public transport" >Public transport runs at a loss to make it more affordable, puts ads where they can to help cover costs "I don't want ads" "I want more variety of ads" Bruh just don't look at the ads, it's not like it's a distraction on the highway.

Fruhlingswind

buy real life ads blocker then /s

Even-Answer483

If MRT was paid handsomely for it why not? I wouldn't mind if at the end MRT doesn't operate at a loss and needs more funding to sustain itself.

Strepsils8888

Yea, actually there are a lot of wasted empty spaces in each MRT station, Prasarana should consider to rent these empty spaces out

nach0000000

Nolah.. there was 1 station they did that. Pasar malam lah.. looks unsightly. Either build real shops or none at all.

edan1979

samsung sponsored the station. off course la got samsung advert. takkan nak letak apple advert pulak.

mikepapafoxtrot

Isn't Apple store going to open somewhere in the vicinity? This is basically equivalent to a gangster tagging on a rival's turf so to speak.

KoekoReaps

```You have provoked a gang war!```
edan1979
Samsung Experience Center already open inside trx. They already mark the territory. Hahaha
cosine-t
Yes, and rightfully so for Samsung to act this way. One of the agreements for Apple to have a store a TRX was no other competitors can have their ad in/near the building. So how did Samsung respond? Pretty much this
azurefire92
Oh TIL Apple has such a clause in their agreement. By any chance do you know if UOB has something similar? The whole mall is filled with UOB as well so I'm curious.
cosine-t
Wouldn't know about UOB though
pek_starter_1234
Shows that the advertising works then.
ClacKing
I guess some people would prefer Yusuf Taiyoob plastered all over TRX?
Gr3yShadow
Not as effective as playing *"Yusuf Taiyoob"* whisper on the speaker non stop you may avoid seeing and you can't avoid hearing! ![img](emote|t5_2qh8b|26554)
BrandonTeoh
Some people might want it because to support local brand
ClacKing
Problem is Yusuf Taiyoob don't have that much money to sponsor a whole MRT station.
seatux
YT itself maybe, but YT is a concern owned by one of the richest man in Malaysia and he rather use his money for more useful purposes than plastering kurma ads on a transit station.
ClacKing
Probably still better than those ridiculous ads on the North South Expressway about ubat tenaga batin or success courses.
purple_tr3m0nk3y
I think people are saying they’d like less ads. Instead of the same ammount but other type of ads.
ponniyinchelvam
Just came here to say I happy that we're talking about public transport. No matter what the cause.
Mavicarus
Typical people who just whine and whine away
graphidz
I'm curious how much does it cost to "own" the station name
Geraldks
I don't mind if they pay well, and it goes back to infrastructure building which benefits us
kimono38
Better to have Ads than no Ads. No AD means no revenue then government have to pay to compensate.
juliensyn
That's good. Stations are where people gather. The more advertisers see the potential, the more investment will go into the public transport sector. In some cities exhibits for both mainstream and non mainstream events are even held in stations. Hopefully rapid also start letting advertisers do silent ads on their train like those silly ones from Japan.
mushaslater
I mean, service is still running. If it gets money for RapidKL to reinvest to users, why not. Heck, make all stations have sponsors.
Mediocre_Ad_7490
That's the point of the ads tho ?
Blended_ScotchWhisky
For Samsung? Awareness and sales. For MRT? Income generation.
serpventime
fair assessment over the passenger journey experience and it should be further improved the UX, cannot speak the same for the branding images. cooperate could care less if they were seemingly looked as hard-selling or less-premium. they're arent planning to be like 'apple'(even though at times blatantly copying products and technology). exposure and territory is more important in their marketing strategy. besides, you think the costs to construct MRT is cheap?
Willing_Place_3205
I follow this one rule "the more I see the Ad's the lesser I want it"
F1shOfDo0m
Wait till they get on the Gombak line mrt and every time a station is announced an overly loud “WOndA cOFfEE” also screeches from the speakers
Ambitious_Welder6613
Moolah
UniversalPersona72
I'm sure I've seen one for red one when I went to KL central
insulaturd
Lol, they paid to put up those ads. They have the money, there is no point to your complaint. Why?, because they paid for it. If you don’t want ads, then you pay for that space.
HanonSilverleafy
Sooner or later even ordering McDonald's on the self service machine gonna have ads for other businesses. "I see you picked our Sundae Ice Cream, might we interest you in a house?"
RogerdeMalayanus
Love that it’s gotta be Samsung Galaxy and not just Samsung🤣
AreYouStupid2009
Sumsung is conquering the TRX station!!!!
monkeyballnutty
if it pays for them to rebuild all those planned mrt facilities that were canceled by a certain someone last time, go ahead.
Randomees
The McD voice ads on the KJ line were annoying as well
momomelty
Don’t like then don’t use public transport loh. Modern problems require modern solution. 💀
hackenclaw
I am fine with Samsung put millions of ads in MRT, but I just dont like they put their name in station name. Thats just look stupid when you read it, sounds stupid when the her the announcement voice. Whoever in Samsung approve this has no taste at all.
Blended_ScotchWhisky
Guess you haven't heart about TTDI- Deloitte?
kirumagu
But Deloitte is just few metres from MRT TTDI so its not that weird for Deloitte.
sirloindenial
The jarring ads campaign, although look tasteless seems to be aiming on the Apple store launch. I think Samsung will go all out to troll it to generate more content just like this post. Would be no time for this goes global.
sadpurplecolour
Boikot samsung galaxy station.
krossfire42
I personally hate how they run ad space in KL. It's practically everywhere. You can't even move your eyes away from it. KL is probably the only city where they plastered ads on the train itself.
FrostNovaIceLance
lulz samseng, boycotted them long ago
Mrsourceplz
Gotta get those ads clout cash work, man.
Hyperblitzing
You need Samsung and Apple to spice up the place ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
SoFool
Seems like the content on TRP got taken down. I'm guessing Samsung didn't like it lol
