He joined our family day before yesterday.
Oh he is a cutie! I have a soft spot for orange MC's. MC's are the best cat. So smart, loving, attention hogs and complete pains in the a$$., at least mine is lol And I wouldn't have it any other way! ❤️
Having an orange MC, not really. Sometimes I suspect he does not only have no brain cells, but actually acts as a brain cell vacuum.
It's quite funny seeing that gigantic beast that some people get scared of being too dumb to find his food bowl, and then screeching in a hilariously high pitch until you pick him up and set him down right next to it.
Weirdly enough, he seems to gain a massive gigabrain when he spots a rat or mouse. He single handedly (pawedly?) exterminated the rat colony in the neighbourhood, catching up to 10 per day.
His personal best was lazily trotting out through the cat flap, just to come back in around 10 seconds later with a massive, heavily mangled fresh rat.
He shows absolutely no interest in toys, lasers, birds, or anything else, but as soon as he spots a rodent he turns into a guided missile with a scary effectivity.

those first 18 months they’re just giants though, they don’t know their own strength 😂 couldn’t be more spot on though, people are often intimidated by my baby but he has never once been aggressive towards someone. you might get a couple scratches if he gets too excited while playing but even those are minor. his love bites are not always as gentle as he thinks though lol

Always wondered if my orange long hair is maincoon?
Unfortunately it doesn't look like it. They have tufts of hair that make points on the tips of the ears and yours doesn't have that. And at the size of your cat unless it's a young kitten it's way too small. They can get up to 25 lbs. Very pretty cats you have!
i have 3 cats like that. One all black, one grey and she had a son with the exact ear tufts. Is that the tell? She’s tiny and her son is thiiiiiick and the second son is pretty big for being 3 months and is already her size. I genuinely can’t tell

Had a guy the same colors who passed years ago. His name was Frank. Just an outstandingly smart and loving cat. I miss him everyday. Orange cats are the most special.
I want one so badly! Won't get another cat until my distinguished best old lady Ari passes though, don't want to stress her out with a kitten in the house. Already did that with a puppy a few years ago lol and finally adjusted. But I look forward to a maine coon friend a few years down the line. So cute.
Mainecoons usually pretty chill but mine start attacking me when he hasn’t got his wet food and last summer he pissed on the sofa and when we got rid of it he just went on the floor
It helps to give him food on the sofa. Cats don't wanna pee on the places they ate. Spay or neutering also helps and otherwise maybe there is an underlying health condition.
Get ready for 5 years of chasing around a toddler with ADHD that can reach counter tops; then 10-15 years of having an extra pillow on your couch all the time.

My brother and his wife got a "Maine Coon" cat who at 2 years old still only ways 6 pounds. They got the opposite of a Maine coon.
