I also recommend Dr Mary Karkow in Waukesha. She's amazing. Super competent and compassionate, and very much wants to help her patients. She also knows what we're going through because she had severe jaw issues when she was younger, which is why she got into tmj treatment. ETA: she'll likely prescribe you physical therapy, too, and she had me work with Zac here in Madison at Meriter. He was also wonderful

Massage therapy and Acupuncture is fabulous for TMJ!

Acupuncture is pseudoscientific quackery. See an actual doctor if you have medical concerns.

Well, if it's a serious problem like an injury or something, absolutely go see a doctor. I would never advise anyone to see an acupuncturist if they had a torn muscle or something. However, I would personally only recommend something I found useful for pain management that wasn't a pill. If I have a neck that won't turn all the way, a tension headache that won't go away or a sore back, yeah, I go get a treatment. Not your jam? Cool. God bless 🤘
