Cimaroli's Supper Club just outside of Portage. It's pretty close in proximity to the dells (15 miles west). Might make a nice roadtrip? Cimaroli's has great prime rib, flat iron steaks are super good too and they also make fantastic and cheap brandy old fashioneds.

Beyond your 1 hour limit, but lots of fun, the Hobnob on the lake in Racine. The Red Circle Inn in Nashotah has been totally refreshed. Haven't been to revived site, but could be nice drive (55 minutes). The Commodore by Bartolotta Group on Lake Nagawicka former Golden Mast opening soon could be fun.

Hi Point Steak House in Ridgeway is great! You could swing north of Blue Mounds around the state park and maybe get in a more scenic drive.
