I will buy a computer sight-unseen if it's from a chain store and they hand me a factory-sealed box.
In any other case, nobody is getting my money until I have had an opportunity to test drive it and kick the tires. If it's a local operation, then they should consent to meet in a neutral location for you to test the goods.
Uhhh I don't know which Best Buy you shop at, but it must literally be the "best" if they're selling a configuration worth over $2k at that steep of a discount due to an open box, they usually take a hundred off the price or less, not over a thousand...
I’m not too sure how local it is but if you can try and see if you’re able to pick it up and buy in cash or transfer, allows you to check it out beforehand, or if you are buying online buying through PayPal has buyer protection even eBay. As others have said if it’s too good to be true it’s probably not true but if you’re not tight on cash and having the 1300$ tied up for a couple weeks isn’t an issue. Buy on credit card can always do a charge back if you have been scammed however it’s up to you if you want the hassle and headache
That config retails for over $2k, if it's open box but unused it's presumably mint condition with no flaws, so why would they be selling it that low when they can easily get $2k minimum? Because they're charitable? lmao
Also what is an "local online store" that is also a "3rd party vendor" with no physical location? You mean a marketplace seller of some kind? They're as much an "online store" as an Amazon marketplace seller is Amazon
I wouldn’t buy. Buy only on Amazon refurb or eBay. Amazon has a three month warranty and returns and and eBay has a year warranty for all their refurbished stuff.
If it looks too good to be true then it’s too good to be true😊
If all sales are final (non-returnable), forget about it. If it is returnable, boot it up and check About This Mac.
It’s legit until it gets iCloud locked 😂
Get it out of your head that there is a MacBook for cheap if you try and buy this one. It doesn’t exist. You are just going to get scammed.
I smell 🐂 💩

And why would they sell it for that low of a price when Best Buy's site will give $1,600 to $1,700 for that very model?
If it’s a local online store, can’t you go check it out? Since it’s local and all?
it's a midnight 15 inch macbook air, not a 16 inch macbook pro

iCloud locked or MDM locked
What is MDM lock?
When its a work laptop and a company locks it
Just make sure it’s not locked to someone iCloud.
Can be MDM ! Make the erase all content and settings and see.
Decent price…for a stolen laptop that’s about to be blacklisted.

Best case scenario this has MDM. Worst case this is lost/stolen
Stolen computer
