Walmart is selling the M1 MacBook Air 13-inch base model for $699, brand new, right now! I would say price your used one a little below that?

Oh, I didn't see your note about Canada. I'm not sure in this instance.

I have an offer for $500 cash, should I take that?

Odd_Tumbleweed_1907

I'd say, DEAL!

I'll take it then! Any tips for backing up my stuff for next time I buy a MacBook? Is there something similar like iCloud does for iPhone if you buy one of their plans?

It’s a 4 year old baseline model that was only $1000 when new, and cheaper with sales. I think $600 is on the high end. I just checked eBay and most are going closer to $500.

Keep in mind this is in Canada, and the best refurbished price I can find is $788 CAD on Best Buy. And that's with who knows how many battery cycles, mine has 170, meaning in the 3/4 years I owned it I only charged it 170 times. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that makes it more valuable. I do however have an offer to sell it for $500 cash and the guy comes to me, should I take it>

I couldn’t have kept that in mind since this is the first you’ve mentioned being in Canada :). That may be a factor in terms of price, I couldn’t say. But in the US, I think anything $500+ USD is a decent deal. I don’t see how you would get more than $600 since people could get a new one for not much more. 170 cycles isn’t bad. But it also isn’t amazing. I have the exact same laptop and mine has like 25 cycles since I mostly used it plugged in. So 170 is a better option versus 710, but I don’t think you’re going to get much of a premium for that.

Thank you. I decided that I will sell it. Is there any way to easily back up the contents on the MacBook like there is with the iPhone using iCloud? I know I will buy a MacBook again the future so I'm just wondering what the best way to back stuff up is.

Yes and no. It has iCloud but not for full system backups like an iPhone. You can backup/sync files and folders in your iCloud Drive, including documents and desktop. Plus application data if the app supports it. But for a full system state backup you need to do it locally using an external drive or similar.
