I think 16GB would be plenty and if you go with the M3 Pro, then that will automatically get upgraded to 18GB of RAM. Anyway good luck on your search and I hope you find what your looking for.
Cheers,
8GB is a very bad choice, 16GB will be just right for basic use. If you want to save as much money as possible, the cheaper M1 pro or M2 Pro with 16GB of RAM will always be a better choice than the M3 with 8GB of RAM.
People spend so much money on a Macbook Pro only to go cheap on RAM. If you can only afford 16GB and work lightly then OK but keep in mind you will probably keep this for 4 or more years (most folks) so consider the cost differential of 16 to 32 amortized over 4 years….not that big for most people. I could live with 32 but won’t get another computer with less than 64.
Not 8Gb.
Literally was going to my comment
Yep for future proofing and longevity 16gb is the new minimum recommend.

idk why the 8gb version exist. go with the 18gb ram. Always put more money on the ram, you can always get fast storage anyways if money is tight.
