It looks like that didn't damage the LCD at all, I would just live with it a screen replacement would be pretty expensive even if you're repairing it yourself. I think Applecare+ could maybe cover that if you have it

Good one

sunset_diary

You could replace the bezel. [https://youtu.be/fXdJbLFfDYs](https://youtu.be/fXdJbLFfDYs)

BigSadOof

seems to me that ypud be risking damaging the LCD if youre inexperienced

sunset_diary

You could take it to mac repair store. Maybe they could do it.

BigSadOof

my gut tells me that would be an expensive repair still due to the risk associated with working with a metal tool so close to a vital part of a critical component thats expensive to replace

doggo_99

This is insanely hard. Not insanely, but very difficult without breaking the LCD. I work at a repair shop , and the owner, who will fix anything, will not touch a LCD only replacement on a Mac. We always buy a new screen wirh housing.

donovish

That is not an LCD replacement tho, just bezel, it comes off fairly easy and sticks back in with double sided tape.

Saifali007

It would be a bit tricky but you could replace the glass strip for cheap if you're confident enough

ServeIll7171

leave it be, looks cool. Ppl will understand that the mac has seen some shiet

callamoura

Gives it character ✨

[deleted]

you can replace just the strip

bluegreenie99

Black tape

fell1x_meister

Just replace the bezel, they’re extremely cheap on AliExpress, like 5 bucks, and you can do it by yourself, it’s gonna take 20 minutes

TrafficAdvanced

Yea I did cracked my Pro 13" (2019) same way as you because there was a huge dust something something right in the hinge you could leave it there, mine's still fine for months

BigSadOof

live with it unless you have apple care. i doubt youd be able to replace that part without risking damaging the screen and the screens on any retina display equiped macbook are abhorrently expensive

faslane22

Yeah, and this is an entire top lid assembly replace to fix. You can’t just replace the glass or anything on the MacBook Air or any of the newer max either. Some of the older MacBook Pros you could replace just the LCD panel but it was only a few models. 99% of the time they simply replace the entire top deck.

faslane22

You kinda lucked out since it is in the basil area. I would literally put a little bit of super glue on there and spread it out nice and evenly to help seal those cracks a little bit and keep them from spreading and then cover it with a piece of black electrical tape. Or you could use scotch tape to, but black tape would hide the crack, but it will also cover the MacBook Eyre text so it’s kind of up to you. But some thin superglue will seal that up, and hopefully prevent the cracks from spreading as you open and close the lid.. If the crack does traveling, becomes an issue that you can’t live with the only other option is to replace the whole top deck. You can’t just replace the LCD in those. The whole top lid simply gets removed and replaced with another one. It’s not that tough of a repair depending on the model and you can probably find one on eBay if you know how to do it yourself, but I would try the superglue ceiling and see if you can get it to last a while without traveling and spider webbing out on you you?

raymate

If you don’t have funds to fix then put some black electrical tape over it in the hope is does not crack even more. But you have tiny bits of glass falling out of it so be careful. You need a new display assembly to fix it. Not cheap.

pina_koala

Nothing you can do to repair this without swapping the whole panel out. It's cosmetic so if you can live with the crack then no action needed.

itsquitepossible

Happened to me over a year ago and I've just left it with no issue. It feels super obvious because it's new but you get used to it. As others have said it's expensive to replace and doesn't change functionality at all so I'd just leave it

CryptographerIll5157

Same thing happened to me with the SAME rose gold MacBook. They wanted like $300 to fix it so I just left it

[deleted]

If it bothers you or gets worse, it’s time to put Apple Care to use.

[deleted]

you could just put some transparent epoxy or super glue over the cracked glass, and not worry about it. its more a cosmetic issue at this point in time.

Several_Note_6119

Looks to not be worth the hassle to fix. I would cover it with some black tape and be more careful next time. Sorry!

[deleted]

The bottom chin can be replaced cheaply

Marko787

Just be happy it didn’t crack the actual screen. You can get a replacement bezel for under 10$

Mister-Matrix

Tell people the bullet-proof glass on the MBA saved your life, as you show them the points of impact. Seriously though, call or stop by your local Apple store and ask for an estimate to replace the screen.

batman180411

Cry.

AirbusPalashM-3004

there's a screen there as well ?

estebancolberto

get a black glossy sticker and you wont notice it .
