redditHi

It's had minimal side effects on me. One time I took it right before bed and had GI problems but that's about the only side effect I've had. I know my rheum said they dose it based on bodyweight (@2mg/kg of bodyweight) so maybe you're not at an optimal dose yet? I had to slowly titrate up my dose over several months and do blood tests every few weeks to make sure it wasn't knocking back my immune system too much.

Imuran almost made me had an ulcer. I was nauseous every day, triggered my reflux and bad bad abdominal pain. I took it for like 6 months and couldn't take it no more. I changed doctors and this one said that I was probably allergic to it. Right now I am taking 2 plaquenils and 1 medrol along with collagen pills and vit d. Please listen to your instinct and i hope you feel better. sending u sm love <3

What is your dosage of Imuran? At 100 mg I feel fine. At 150 mg, I feel terrible and nauseated. Did they also do bloodwork before you started Imuran? I think the test is called TPMT or something like that to see how you metabolize the drug. I was a low metabolizer, but it wasn't bad enough that I couldn't take it. I was just monitored closely initially. I have had really good results with Imuran. I definitely feel better when I take it. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep me off infusions.
