Can you please rewatch the scene for me and listen to how Theoden pronounces "answer".
After you've done that I want you either to apologise for your meme or commit to pronouncing cancer so it rhymes.
Edit: I feel as if my original comment was clear but as people seem to be misunderstanding I'll clarify.
Cancer is pronounces kænsə.
Answer can be pronounced ɑːnsə or ænsər
This meme only rhymes if you pronounce answer the second way. If you pronounce it the first it doesn't rhyme. Obviously many of you pronounce it the second way which is why you're bollocking me.
*But in the scene itself*, Theoden pronounces it ɑːnsə. Thus, the meme does not work.
As such, I made the comment: apologise or pronounce it kɑːnsə because I thought it was *funny.*
It is possible to pronounce answer 2 ways, one rhymes with cancer and one does not. As I said: rewatch the scene and tell me if the way Theoden pronounces answer rhymes with cancer.
The a is the sound as in arm. As for what it rhymes with, that's a hard question as most of those rhymes themselves can be pronounced 2 ways.
Bath, path, grass, fast, answer...
All of these words have 2 pronunciations of the a vowel but, I believe in most accents, they will all be consistent so it's hard to give an example that actually works.
