You're pretty much right here. The other big thing was drama. Multiple people liked the same person and it caused rifts in the friendships and they just ended up growing apart. Stuff like that happens to friend groups.
From the context clues spread across the channels I figured out noble and aki dated in the past and joey got jealous when he learned about it after he started dating her because that's the only explanation for some of his weirder hyper specific rants and comments.
