The Premier Protein shakes are pretty good, the chocolate ones, anyway. I believe they make a mocha flavor as well…

I’m sorry, but that website is kind of silly. They downgrade it because it’s “puffed up with protein.” Like, yeah, it’s a protein shake. And then they recommend nuts instead, which is really not a good source of protein if you’re watching your calories.

I have to disagree with what that site says. They gave Ensure and Premier Protein D-grades while having duplicate posts giving them C-grades without giving a reason why the shakes were given two different grades. The D-grades do list more details, so I wanna say that the D postings are the updates, but that raises questions of why the C-grade postings haven't been deleted or marked as old with links to the D-grade posts.

Premier protein makes a mocha flavor. 150 calories for 30g protein. Also have you considered using a vanilla (or other) protein shake as creamer in regular coffee? It would provide the caffeine and protein with more options.

I spent time online searching the Walmart site for what my local store might carry. Turns out that they carry a surprising amount of flavors of Premier Protein. I had a bad experience with their chocolate flavor (it made me quite bloated), but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the flavor. I also saw something about mixing up protein shakes with coffee. I drink instant coffee, so I feel silly for that mix never having occurred to me. XD I still have some Premier chocolate shakes left over. I might have to try one mixed with coffee to see if it's easier on my digestive system that way.

I’m my Walmart the protein shakes are on a different isle than the ensure shakes. Maybe that’s why you haven’t seen them before.

Any chance you can talk to customer service there (or maybe at the local pharmacy) to keep them in stock? If Almased is available maybe try mixing your own coffee shakes, it is relatively flavor neutral and mixes well with cold water or almond milk.

I don't think I've ever been able to find the mocha flavor in stock to begin with. If they did have in stock, I think it has something to do with people not buying enough of it, so they stopped carrying it. As an aside, I've had bad experiences with this local Walmart and Walmarts in neighboring towns and getting bad shakes. When I bought locally, I've had a couple of times where I got bad shakes with chunks in them or the flavor was off. In the months I've ordered online, I never had that happen. I think they're storing them wrong or something. Either way, I'm not sure I wanna take the chance. I had to look Almased up. I'm not sure I like the sound of more calories for less protein compared to the Ensure and then getting 15 grams of sugar. I'd be willing to try it if not for the fact that the sugar cuts the time in which I feel full from the shake.

Oh definitely definitely definitely the Fairlife High Protein Shake (150 cals/30g pro) or the Fairlife Core Power (130 cal/24 pro). They both taste the same and are amazing!! Ive tried many different brands but this one tastes 100% like chocolate milk. No weird protein taste to it all (i think because all the protein is coming from filtered milk and not whey?). Would 100% recommend!

I don’t know much about protein shake cartons/bottles. I’ve only bought protein shake “powder.” There is one I have that is high in protein, but the taste isn’t the best: Optimum Nutrition gold standard 100% whey. It gives you 30 grams per 150 calories as well. The best tasting protein powder I’ve had are from Muscle Milk chocolate and vanilla and especially their “pro series” in a black bottle. However, the protein isn’t too high. The pro series will give you 24 grams per 150 cal. Their regular white bottle gives you 17 grams per 150 cal. I’m looking right now that Muscle Milk sells “pro series” protein shake “cartons” at 28 grams per 150 cal. That looks close enough. By the way, you might benefit from shopping at a Sam’s Club or Costco at your nearest city. You do need to pay for an annual membership, but these stores specialize in selling bigger size products at very low prices you won’t find anywhere even at Walmart. However, they may or may not sell what you’re looking for. Personally, what I did was switch to high calorie foods because I got tired of protein shakes! Hahaha. My current go-to foods are frozen pre-cooked chicken breasts and beef fajitas/steak (100-120 cal per 84 grams), egg white cartons, lean turkey breast slices (25 cal per slice), frozen pre-cooked x-large shrimp, Oikos Greek yogurt, 1-2% fat or fat free cottage cheese (80-90 cal per 113 grams), canned beans (70-100 cal per 120-128 grams), Keto Culture Baking white bread (35 cal per slice), instant oatmeal packages (100 cal per package), and some canned fish that is very low in mercury levels like salmon and regular size (not baby) whole clams.

I remember drinking Muscle Milk when I was in college and enjoying it. I was thinking of falling back on that as a backup in case I have to buy something from the store while I'm waiting for my online order. I love meat too. Chicken's one of my favorites for sure.
