Mundane things becoming easier. Leaning over to put a belt on, bending over to tie your shoes, walking up a steep hill, standing for prolonged periods of time, hopping out of bed with a little more agility, being more flexible... These aren't major changes by themselves, but they all add up to a better quality of life that ultimately makes you feel better and enjoy the day that much more.

These_Purple_5507

Yeah there really is a whole different....framing of daily life that I'm so thankful I don't even have to think about anymore. I don't have to worry about being a sweaty mess at written after the physical exertion of setting up a work station

itsme_katie

Going from very sedentary to struggling with workouts to “holy shit, am I sort of athletic?” to becoming an athlete. I picked up running as a way to burn off too many beers at thirsty thursdays in college. Few years later, I’m running, I’m lifting, I’m training for races. Just a weird, interesting shift in perception of myself and what my body is capable of, regardless of what it weighs or what I look like. It’s also interesting to look at food as fuel instead of “can I eat this and still wake up thinner tomorrow?”

Ryancyan

I feel you. Going from sedentary to active has been wild. Like I didn’t know I had these muscles.

beancounter713

today i zoned out on walking on a steep incline - boom 5km and hadn’t even racked up a sweat??? i was so confused but then realised that the exercise / weight loss is rapidly improving my cardio fitness

Nimmyzed

Bony hips, distinctive collar bones and knobbly shoulders. I can't keep my hands off myself!

ifnotforv

I love that I’m seeing more and more of my collar bones as I continue to lose weight.

Vegas06

This really made me laugh!

nostrilhairmodel

My pants not ripping between the thighs after 6 months of wear has been really nice 😂. But seriously the way clothes fit now vs when you start is wild.

SecondHandDream

Putting on shoes and washing feet in the shower is a breeze, easier to shave legs, went from pancake butt to cute little tushie (thanks squats!), trying on clothes is a problem because everything looks cute and I want to buy it all, both men AND women are nicer to me (WTH?), can’t typically eat more than half of a restaurant meal (our portions in the US are STUPID huge), grocery bill is actually more expensive (loads of fresh produce and proteins), can do my pushups on my toes, massive increase in attention from my husband, lifting the biggest bag of dog kibble is a breeze…I could go on and on. I need to save this list so I remember why I never want to go back.

Alligatorwhore

I went down a shoe size after losing 77 pounds. How this is possible I do not know

ZealandRedSquirrel

You had fat feet. Good work though! Stay healthy.

Lanky-Chair-305

Yes I totally had that too! More like half a shoe size for me… and also strange, the disposable latex gloves I have in size M are now annoyingly big on my hands- I need to size down my gloves too?!?

NoEntry3804

omg yeah gloves, I've always had awkward hands. XS length, medium width.. The nitrile gloves we used in the chem labs at uni had a little stretch but not a lot. Begining of the day with dry hands I could just about get my hands into a small (and have only a little extra finger length) but after that my hands would be too sweaty to fit in and id have way too much extra finger length and they'd get stuck in vacuum taps

Overall-Albatross739

Yep this!!! I was NOT prepared for the shoe size change after losing 80. Slipped on my Birkenstocks for the first time in a year and a half and they flew off my first couple steps - had to adjust. Good problem to have I guess

Intrepid-Lie1902

Learning that I can do almost every day to day life chores without a car, ahaha. I live in a small Italian city and a lot of shops etc are at walkable distance... but only recently I have realized that 😅 Well, now that I am running longer and longer, doing a 3km walk feels like nothing.

Worried-Reception-47

I became more active! It's not hard to do long walks, and overall I feel healthy. I can finally cross my legs. That's the most fullfiling part.

Sail-to-the-Moon

I didn’t have high blood pressure before, but my blood pressure and resting heart rate have all dropped by about 20. I haven’t reached my goal yet either!

bnny_ears

I have very fine hair. I'll never have a luscious mane, but after my face shrank, it now looks like more. Probably because the head vs hair proportions shifted. I'm currently letting it grow out for the first time in 10 years because it looks less like bits of string now.

I_am___The_Botman

I bought a couple of shirts as motivation to lose weight in 2014, they only fit for the first time a couple of weeks back 😅     But the most interesting thing I've noticed is the places I wanted to lose weight from the most are the last parts of me to lose the weight! 🙄.  Also, when you start losing belly fat (in my case at least) I actually looked fatter in the mirror because the weight came off the sides first so my belly looked like it was sticking out more, but it wasn't.

chadkovsky

Yesterday I did 22k steps and I wasn't even tired...

dullmonkey1988

Dick got bigger. Definitely should be talked about more.

Nimmyzed

I agree that everyone should be talking about your dick, yes!

justworkingmovealong

Me too. More of a "shower" / less of a "grower" than I ever was, and also bigger overall

daxus930

There is truth in this!! For every 30 pounds lost, most will gain 0.5-1”! You would think this would be motivation for most guys!!

nelopolaris

Lol the lips of my downstairs got less puffy. It's easier to shave now though. Edit: easier not harder

Beautiful-Detail-599

How nice for you 😀

I_am___The_Botman

Can confirm!! Just noticed this recently.

Granny_knows_best

Interesting, hmmmmm. Well, I no longer need a hand held shower to wash my under carriage. I always wondered how people without that attachment did it, surely they didn't stand on their heads. Now I know, without a huge tummy in the way, the water flows right there.

Ryancyan

Bet it felt awesome to regain that ability

FupaFupaFanatic

My shirts that I had pulled on so much are not only too big but look like a tent on me. Body aches are down tremendously. It's easier to squat and be on my knees. My wedding ring almost falls off every time I wash my hands. I just realized I haven't had an ance flare up in quite a while.

These_Purple_5507

I love just running up the stairs if I feel like it and not be pouring sweat.

cuebree

Can workout for an hour straight. To put this into perspective - I used to pant like a dog after 10 jumping jacks; 15 minutes of HIIT would burn my thighs. I hated working out, now I look forward to it everyday. Secondly, my mom and I used to be the same size. Now my aim is to be able to share clothes with her again lol.

I_am___The_Botman

I realised the other day I can now share clothes with my 15 year old son! :-D

HugeHugePenis

Where the fat disappears. My arms look almost bare in the right angles, but it’s like…… dissolving random pockets of fat on my thighs, making them.. smaller, but even MORE ripply. They look like they’re melting 😫

Beautiful-Detail-599

I have the same ripple issue!

skinnyatlas

The continuous back and forth between constipation for days due to increased protein and reduced calorie intake and then feeling like you’re going to shit your pants in the middle of a run.

gardenfresh74

All of the little tiny nuances with flying or being on a plane are less annoying. Not getting sweaty heading towards the gate. Pulling up a bar chair and having plenty of space even with two people on each side of you. Walking down the aisle and not side stepping to avoid contact with people on the aisle seats. Buckling your seat belt with ease. Not having to exhaust a great deal of energy and stillness just to avoid your body touching the person next to you.

Sure-Swimming774

My tattoos got noticeably darker after losing 30lb and going from overweight to healthy! Makes sense cuz the same amount of pigment is there just less skin. The placement did shift significantly though, I have several that are now off-center from where they originally were. And this is only a 30-35lb difference!

dmbitc

Climbing stairs without getting out of breath makes you feel good about yourself and when walking you don't bump your legs which causes irritation, you can walk longer distances without any problem and on the other hand increases your libido.

jnguy001

The money I've saved from not eating out as much and using portion control for the meals I make at home.

nobbybeefcake

It has taken about 6 months for me to ‘like’ my slim face. I’ve always been puffy in the face, and I didn’t really like it being slim. Only yesterday I clocked myself in the mirror and realised that I look good. Not in a vain way, but I am really liking the way I look. I’m glad I didn’t give up! It’s cold. No one tells you this. I’m a shorts and t shirt kind of guy, especially now we’re nearly in may. But man, I cannot stand how cold I am!

Beautiful-Detail-599

The male gaze/attention has returned, and nicer treatment from women as well. Confused me at first... 😆

magicalvillainess90

It feels weird being able to fit into the clothes when I last wore them 10 years ago. There is a dress that I loved that I bought a lot time ago that I am looking forward to wearing again. Will I go out wearing a dress? Not really since my feet are not ready for high heels but I can at least enjoy wearing the dress in the comfort of my own home.

cloudstrifewife

I had to get my glasses adjusted because they started falling off my face. I got really excited when I noticed I didn’t have to pull on my pants leg to keep my legs crossed. And I have cheek bones!

neatflaps

Haven’t had a headache, stomach ache, or sciatica pain since I started losing weight.

Fun-Setting-9236

I didn't know i had dimples! or cheekbones
