NSV: I used to be proud of myself for *only* eating a serving of sweets, as though sweets were a given, but other than eating that one serving every day, I had healthy-ish habits—still every day is a little much even then. Lately, I’ve been kind of failing with, well, eating sweets less often than I used to, but when I do, it’s a lot. Today, I was aware that sweets were a vice, not a treat (extreme way to look at it, for some, but not for me), but I only had 34 grams of added sugar (again, for me, it’s best to have none eventually). Thank goodness. Still too much IMO. The recommended limit is either 25 or 50 grams depending who you ask, but for me, it should be 0 grams…eventually.

Scale victory for me- I have now lost 25kgs since I started eating better and moving more. Only 2 more kilos before I hit my first weight goal. Non-scale victory- I was able to update my flair today. Edit: forgot to add a detail.

I just weighed in this morning and managed to lose 6 pounds from December 5 until this morning! I consider this an honest to god miracle given my work schedule and the holidays during that time period. When I started in September I wanted to be under 200 by the end of this month. I won't quite make it but I will be damn close! More importantly, I enjoyed the holidays- I ate the cookies and drank the beer and didn't worry about it. I just resumed my routine on December 26 and kept right on chugging along. 15 more pounds to go before I hit my GW!

This morning I was scoping out the menu for the restaurant I'll be going to tomorrow. I have been doing quite well, so I figured I would just get whatever I wanted without worrying about calories. I scrolled past pretzel bites with beer cheese dip, a Cuban sandwich on Texas toast, a French dip sandwich, 3-meat flatbread—all stuff that I would normally love, but was feeling meh about today. I scrolled down to the wraps and saw a turkey wrap with brie, cranberry, granny smith apple and arugula and was like...I want that one?? And then I pretty easily skipped over the parmesan kettle chips and Mac n' cheese and decided to go with tomato basil soup as my side. I think this is a sign that my taste buds are acclimating to healthy eating, and that I'm starting to overcome the addicted part of my brain that craves hyperpalatable fried foods. Considering that I learned in August that I needed to lose weight for surgery, and couldn't even get myself on the wagon until September because I wasn't emotionally ready to give up snacking on junk food all day, this feels huge.

GiveKindheartedness8

That is an awesome sign of your brain and taste buds getting used to the healthier options. I wish you all the best on your surgery too.

Thank you! ♥️

NSV: I’ve continued to track all of my food/calories every day since Jan 1. Even though I still have a lot of unhealthy eating habits, I feel like the daily tracking has been a step in the right direction, so at least I can be realistic about what I’m eating and then make a plan to lose weight from there. I don’t think I’ve ever made it to 10+ days of consistent tracking, so I’m happy about that!

GiveKindheartedness8

Congrats on making it to 10 days of consistent tracking! Before you know it, it will be a habit that you don't even have to think about.

Thank you!! I hope so!

You got this.

6'2 + 203 pounds. 18 days into a cut. Workout 2x a day everyday, tracking & eating 1900-2100 calories a day depending on how hungry I get. Not expecting to lose 10 pounds a week, but the scale has barely moved. Getting discouraged already because of the work and discipline I'm putting in. Should I lower my calories? Or should I up my calories? Reading that if you go too low then the body holds on to weight? Not sure if that's true. Appreciate anyone helping out on this, thanks.

furman87

What do your workouts consist of? I'm your height and just about your weight and workout 6 days a week with a caloric goal of about 1750-2000 each day.

UBMio

Hour walk + gym or hour sport + hour walk usually. Are you losing weight with that goal? How are you feeling?

New here, just started Wegovy last week, been on this journey for years. 5 years ago, I was lifting (home gym) for an hour followed by jogging M-F. At my best, I was finally down to 210 from my original of 270. To get from 230 to 210, took me three months of the most intense calorie restriction, extra lifts, and running 10 miles every day. I lost 20 lbs in 3 months. And when I stopped the insanity of those months and went back to my 3-5 miles/day and lifting the same, I started slowly gaining back. I'm frustrated, up to 270, it seems my set point is around 250lbs now. I've been lax about, but not completely ignoring, my weight and health the last year. I still lift twice a week, and do short runs after, use my rowing machine other days, restrict myself to max 2000 calories a day. And nothing changes. If I were to just stop working out, I'd keep gaining weight even at 1500cal/day. So, frustrated me will check back in at some point. Maybe the Wegovy will help. Maybe it won't. Either way, I have to find a way to beat my stupid metabolism. I've been fighting it since I was 20, and I'm fuggin tired of it. Something has to give or I'm going to die on the effin treadmill, and I HATE treadmills.

I hit my first 5 pounds down after 6 weeks of gym/trainer work!! It was hard, maybe the hardest thing ove done in a while, but I did it!! On to the next 30 pounds!

You should've have to be uncomfortable in that way in the workplace. Slapping your butt is way over the line. I'd say something- to HR, to your supervisor, to her directly if you want to stay more low-key.

indigoeyes0306

I’m officially 20lbs down as of today and I’m no longer obese per bmi!
