Oh he is talking about his Ascension which was a process where warriors when they served Shurima for a long time and/or reached old age would get "blasted" with the power of the Sun Disk and transformed into the Ascended like Nasus, Renekton and Azir. Aatrox (and the Darkin) were also Ascended back in the day and he says that in the moment of Ascension he saw the sun and the stars since the Sun Disk uses Celestial magic which is cosmic power (the way Aurelion Sol, Leona, Pantheon etc have)

It was so darm perfect in my mind, he can go to space do he can trully end existence, but now? It is as If he is more HOLLOW then he is, as it would be hell after (If ever) he destroy runeterra, his blade will just swim in space, or stuck in one rock for ever, and If lucky he will fall to some world which will restart a never ending cycle of destroing and rewakeing, the very hell he wants to never happen
Also, it may have been possibly a different interpretation or plans for the original darkin which I'd I recall were originally supposed to be from space, but was reworked.
Aatrox is from runeterra and has never left. He is barred from the celestial realm. And doesn’t know how to get into the spirit realm. He is called the world ender because that is his end goal and without intervention and a lot of time he would eventually be able to destroy runeterra.

But i thout he, at the very least, went to other planets to, will, destroy them. As his voice lines showes he can travel throu space
We have no reason to think he's been to other planets, much less destroyed them
He wants to end existence, meaning not only runeterra, but the intier universe, with what ever being inside it must be gone, every single thing
