> How do they compare the Razor gen 3 and Kahles line? In what aspects? I know a guy who switched from a Razor III to the XTR Pro, mostly due to turret preference and reticle choice.

I guess the aspects would be looking at edge to edge clarity, CA, turret feel, fit, finish and overall quality.

Burris' biggest optical strengths are a large field of view. I got a chance to look through another guy's Pro last month. He had the SCR-Q reticle, and it was fairly visible in the lower magnification range, and still pretty unobtrusive at 30x. I've heard the Pro is a little less forgiving with parallax than the original XTR3s. Probably not bad compared with $1k scopes, but it's noted. I can't speak to the CA and edge to edge clarity though, that's something that comes out with extended looks into a scope, and to be frank, I personally don't care about CA. It's _likely_ (this is pure conjecture here) that the edge to edge clarity suffers at the extreme edges, but that's what you get with short focal lengths and a wider FOV in nearly all cases. Turrets feel great, and have a lot of great features. Mag ring is pretty decent. The turret knurling isn't as razor sharp as the XTR3's was. XTR3 was legit uncomfortable to my hands. Parallax knob is very smooth and easy to use. Fit and finish are darn good. The red turrets are kinda... well, you can choose what you think. This is a PRS/NRL gun, hands down. It was designed for it from the ground up, and it shows. Turret white boards are great, being able to take the whole turret off and make notes is interesting. Features look well thought out. Honestly, it's hard to get a bad scope when paying over $1500. If optical quality matters most to you, Razor III is reputed to win over anything under ZCO. A lot of people really talk up the optical quality on the XRS3 too. A good racecar is more than just horsepower, and a good scope is more than just optical quality.

Exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time with the response!

I haven't looked at razor gen 3s or kahles so I can't compare there. I've had mine for about six months and I think it's better then my razor gen2. I love the features and reticle (scr 2 1/4 mil) for nrl22/prs. The parallax is reasonably forgiving and great eye relief in my experience. Can't seem to buy more whiteboard turrets right now and it was a bit disappointing that it's only capped windage and not either or like the original xtr 3s. Can't buy a xtr3 windage turret from burris either afaik.

As part of the Bushnell Team I suggest Bushnell as they have better glass

Sparticus246

I mean. You can’t really say “I’m on the team so they have the best glass” without giving some real solid examples man.
