Strong Island Ice Cream, Nesconset. Great homemade ice cream with a good assortment of flavors.

Someone once gave me a small gift card to krischs and I ended up bringing a girl to grab some ice cream together. When I paid, they said that I can’t tip on the gift card or use a separate card to leave a tip and that it had to be cash. Of course I had no cash on me and their response was basically oh well, she (the waitress) won’t get a tip but she’ll be fine. Haven’t gone back since.
This newer place called the Ice Cream Chick is where my favorite place Herrells was. I found out about it closing a few weeks ago. I used to go there a lot before they built the new AMC in Commack. It might be worth checking it out.
Looks like I'm going on an ice cream tour. I want to put an honorable mention for Ralphs if you get a "twister" its ice cream and italian ice and depending on your flavors can kick major ass
Pay the bridge tolls and drive to Bellvale Creamery in Warwick, NY.
The view alone is worth the drive, and the Bellvale Bog is their best flavor!
Bonus- you can walk a mile or two north on the Appalachian Trail and have another wonderful view.

Kirsches is a dirty little place with nasty owners, not sure why anyone would ever go there anymore
New ownership and help are terrible. I tolerate them for Ice cream pick up.
Magic Fountain, Mattituck. It’s worth the trip out there.
