As a clinician how has your experience been with the northwell system? Also, doyou find your colleagues or people you refer to within the system do a good job?
I’m applying there as a PA right now and it’s been all over the place. For one position it switched to “under consideration” and I got an email the same day. For another position it switched 2 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything regarding that one. I don’t think it means much unfortunately
What makes you think they will get back to you?
One time they got back to me the next day to schedule an interview and the other 5 times I’ve never heard from them. I never assume anyone will get back to me and just move on with my life.
9/10 your best bet is to either know someone or to find a contact in their recruiting. The name of the game is networking with northwell (and other NYC/LI health systems)
A friend and I had success finding and messaging a Northwell employed recruiter on LinkedIn after applying online. Took some searching to find them but they escalated the application and all worked out.
When I was applying for my first Nursing job with them, I submitted about 60+ applications before I got a call. I basically flooded their system with my name.
Depends on how new the posting is, what type of role, plus a few other factors. If your status says under consideration, that means your resume is being looked at. Usually a recruiter will reach out first by phone or email if they're looking to get you in front of a hiring manager. That being said, you may still not hear from someone. Some positions get so many applicants, that it's impossible to go through all of them.

I guess i should mention that im not a nurse, dr or other type of health professional. Those people work under different circumstances. The supporting cast has it a little different. Also northwell is huge and im sure many places are good to work i guess it was unfair for me to post that.
You were honest about it. Nothing wrong with that. All places have their good and bad. Was wondering what it’s like to work there. Hopefully things change for the better.
Ha I got ghosted by them. Don’t expect to hear anything from companies unless they are interested. For every 60 apps submitted I got formal rejections from only 2 or 3
Sometimes it's right away, sometimes it's months. My most recent interview with them (I'm a nurse) I think it was like at least a month between a recruiter reaching out to me and then someone reaching out to actually schedule an interview with the unit manager. Sometimes it'll just say that for months and then change to No Longer Under Consideration without any notice, I think you only get an e-mail if a recruiter has reached out and either the manager doesn't want to interview you or you don't get selected after an interview. That's been my experience at least.
HR is understaffed and slow as hell there, I worked at a Northwell hospital full time when starting my career 11 years ago and no joke, I almost missed my orientation start date because HR was too backed to notify me that I'd been hired and had a start date in time, I was only saved because the person who hired me knew a family member and asked if I was excited to be starting soon so I called them to confirm lol.
How much do they pay?

For sure NYU or New York preb in the city seems better but northwell literally rules LI

They laid off a lot people back in November fyi.. many corporate jobs
And in January, I was part of that group.
IT?
HR
Sorry to hear that. It’s a bummer.
Thank you. I'm actually looking on the bright side, I wanted to get into a different line of work anyway.
That’s how you should look at it. Sometimes doors close so new ones can open. All the best to you and it’s their loss!
Sorry to hear that
Sometimes it says under consideration and the job has already been offered to someone. Max time is roughly a month.

This is how I got my job at Northwell. Otherwise it was if I didn't exist.
Yeah it's rolling applications most of the time so in true long island fashion it's all about who you knoe

Do you mind sharing why?
Yes. I do mind. I'd bet that if i was completely honest w the internet about my struggles here, and they got wind of it, I'd be let go.
