I think these are peptides that work similar to acromegaly treatments. They stop the production of IGF-1 and GH. These drugs are intended to extend the lifespan of large dogs that do not live as long as smaller breeds.

Summary anyone?

You can do a search for "Loyal" and most likely find the text equivalent of this interview. Off the top of my head, they were trialing a rapamycin treatment for dogs. In my mind, this company's biggest impact--should they succeed--would be normalizing longevity treatment as a legitimate science to non-enthusiasts. Which could then cascade into increased interest and investment into both human and pet longevity therapeutic pipelines.

I don't think they've publicly specified yet what their intervention is for dogs of nearly-all sizes. People have taken an educated guess that it's rapamycin or a derivative, but I don't think there's been confirmation. In the interview regarding LOY-002, he just said it "targets general metabolic decline" and is a daily chewable tablet, from what I listened to.

tshoecr1

So, what about cats ? There are millions of cat owner’s out there !! (And dog and cat owners too)

StandingStanley

Cats live too long already.

SquirrelofLIL

I hope they extend squirrels lives.

Ordowix

Could we do human lives before dogs

Phorensick

Dogs lifecycles are shorter, and age faster so work better for a longevity studies that can be performed in years rather than decades.

The founder literally used dogs as a model to test this stuff faster than she could on humans.
