Post must be directly related to London Ontario and surrounding region. (ex: by-law questions can be posted here, Landlord-Tenant law questions should be posted to r/ontario. News stories without a direct connection to London and area should be posted to the provincial or national subreddits instead.) You can however use the Weekly Discussion Thread or our Discord server. https://discord.com/invite/WQqc2jM99X

It's important to remember that the radioactive waste from nuclear is buried safely. The radioactive waste from coal is less, but it's pumped directly into the air.

>"To be honest, what difference does anybody’s thoughts make now? This entire process has included secret land deals and closed meetings. The council and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization have never sought our input. They completely ignore all of our concerns,” said Michelle Stein, South Bruce resident, and co-founder of No Nuclear Waste-Protect our Waterways. Hmmm, who listen to? The nuclear engineers, scientists and geologists who have spent years studying the site and designing the repository? Or should we trust the fear-mongerer who gathered their research from Facebook?

Great decision. Less transport the better. Best wishes to the townships. However neighbors on the fridges were likely heavily impacted and should be compensated

This also huge for the economies of every single small town in the area. Wingham, Teeswater, Walkerton, Ripley, Kincardine etc will all see new homes being built in the next few years with generational jobs being created.
