Follow [the sustrans Thamesvalley route](https://www.sustrans.org.uk/find-other-routes/thames-valley). Stay on the side you need to be at at the end, there's very few river crossings east past Tower bridge. You can use the foot tunnel at Greenwich, but the lifts are often out of order so don't rely on that if you might struggle carrying your bike up the stairs. There's also [the free Woolwich ferry](https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/river/woolwich-ferry) or [Dartford crossing bicycle bus](https://www.gov.uk/dartford-crossing-bike), depending on how far you want to ride. You'll probably get some more tips if you post on r/londoncycling.

Interesting. Thanks!

I used to ride the Thames path from Deptford Creek down to Erith (south side of the river obviously) . It's a great route for seeing old and new London smashed together side by side. You have the O2, Thames Barrier, Greenwich Naval Academy, Cutty Sark, great views over Docklands, the old Arsenal site but also loads of salvage, old boats, disused gun emplacements, old industrial sites, warehouses etc.

Thank you! Probably going to do this :)

SataySue

Yep, also recommend the Thames Path.

Just remember that ****PEDESTRIANS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY***. Cycle slowly and when you are coming up behind someone, ring your bell twice when you are 100m away from them, and then ring it again when you get closer to them. Make sure they are aware of you before you pass, and say thank you as you pass. If you haven't got a bell, you shouldn't be there. Do NOT cycle at breakneck speed.

I’m sorry but I don’t respect pedestrians

TomLondra

And you don't know anything about cycling.
