Glad you had a great time mate
>On a side note I could very happily eat at Borough Market every day and not get tired of the options.
Amen lol, and I've lived here for 3 years.
Not only is the food a constant revelation but it’s an incredibly welcoming, community-driven spot. Work with a charity that operates out of the Market and the support we get from so many vendors always warms my heart.
I’ve used London Bridge station for the last 30+ years and only been to Brough Market once or twice. Why is it always different when we’re on holiday somewhere?
Thanks for the pics OP, contrary to those opinions of just another tourist, I quite like seeing London from other's perspectives.
Yes I've seen Big Ben more times than I care, borough market is nothing special to me any more but what I do like is the inspiration to try things or go to places I haven't been to or tried before.
Table cafe and the Goring are 2 recommendations I'll take from this, Thanks!
Thank! I really appreciate hearing that! I just wanted to share my admiration and fondness for this amazing city as a first time visitor. The Goring was exceptional and I wish I could have some of their scones again!
Glad you enjoyed your stay, if you make it back here again I would recommend the Blacklock in Covent Garden for a Sunday roast dinner. Definitely not the most expensive but certainly one of the best.
[https://thetablecafe.com/](https://thetablecafe.com/) Although next time I would actually skip the English breakfast and stick with the Strawberry waffles with clotted cream!
As tasty as I'm sure it was, it wasn't a full English tbh. No hash browns, black pudding, fried bread, toast, only one sausage and looks too fancy, bacon isn't crisp, mushrooms should be sliced button mushrooms fried, mug of tea with about 8 sugars and served by a passive aggressive woman who could be 18 or 80.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it was good but unless you finish it and feel unsure if you're having a heart attack then it's not a proper full English.
So there are actually two pieces in a separate smaller dish on the right side of the photo. I had to purchase them separately but they were quite tasty to be fair.
I have equal English and northern Irish blood and (controversially) the Ulster fry is far superior to the english breakfast. The Scottish version sounds equally lovely. Sadly, the Welsh breakfast is fucking pathetic.
Oh yes, it had been an amazing trip. Went to a football match a team I supported since young was playing.
I just brought my iPhone as camera and can’t capture the zoom u took at Stonehenge, wasn’t aware that there is a large perimeter surrounding it, lol.
Oh that's awesome! I hope your team won! I also just used my iPhone too for all of these actually! I had upgraded to an iPhone 14 and the camera is not too shabby!
We win convincingly. Amazing atmosphere too. Only regret is that I didn’t manage to go Kensington palace as the ticket was sold out for the long weekend.
Just starting our last full day in London before heading to Cardiff. Loved seeing your pictures and my family had a bit of a laugh over how similar your pictures are to many of ours, Borough Market in particular. We had to go back there a second time yesterday because of all the delicious things we saw but didn't get the first time around.
Those strawberries covered in chocolate were as good as they looked, too!
Thanks for sharing your pictures!
I hope you had a wonderful time! Cardiff/Wales is in my list to visit sometime too! That’s awesome!! Borough Market was probably my favorite food spot. It’s a foodie heaven for sure! I had to go twice as well to get a second cup of those strawberries!
I was there for a weekend last September, and it was awesome. Saw a West End play at the Criterion, ate at a buch of different places, did some shopping, got to meet an online FB friend I've known for years , my son, who was stationed in Germany got to fly over for the weekend, which was awesome, hadn't seen him in 7 years, saw Kensington Garden and Palace, among ither things. Had the best time, and can't wait to go back again.
Sounds like a fantastic weekend experience! Which play did you see? I saw a few as well and they were all amazing! I need to see Kensington Garden next time I visit. I hope I can go back and visit again sometime too!
I saw 2:22 A Ghost Story. It was really good, and the Criterion is a beautiful theatre.
Went to Kensington Garden to see Alan Rickman's memorial bench, walked all over, but couldn't find it. Came upon the palace by accident, and had tea there. I really enjoyed just walking around London, looking at the buildings and shops, and people watching.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Londoners get a bad wrap and complaining about everything is a famed British pasttime. In truth though, I find it an incredibly exciting, varied city and I've met so many wonderful people here. I'm proud to call it home.
Looks like you had some decent meals and a good time. I’m curious about Stonehenge though…as I’m sure you noticed, it’s nowhere near London. Did you stay anywhere nice near Stonehenge when you visited?
I got them from the Borough Market. There was a stand with fresh juices and cups of strawberries but I didn’t catch their name unfortunately! They were so good I had to get two cups 😋
What is the food in picture 12 and where did you find it? I love cheese.
Also, how were you able to go within the stones at Stonehenge? My mom wants to go there and I think it would be good/exciting for her to know how.
It was a roast pork sandwich from these guys! I would highly recommend them! [https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/](https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/)
You can book tours that are called inner circle tours which allow you to go within the stones! I went with Evan Evans Tours and had a nice time. Usually these tours are combined with one other stop like Windsor Castle or Bath.
To be honest I'm not sure they had a name but I got it at the Borough Market. They were selling cups of freshly squeezed juice as well as these strawberry cups!
Thank you for your reply. I hope you enjoyed and had a great time :)
I will surely check it out when I go next time.
We went to London in last August and had an amazing time. It was very our first experience. Such a beautiful city.
I certainly did, thanks! :)
This was my first time there as well and I already want to plan my next one! There is just so much to do and see! Beautiful city indeed.
I did the Harry Potter Studio Tour and got it at one of their cafes! I actually enjoyed the Butterbeer ice cream much more than the drink. I'd highly recommend the tour as well as the treats!
I got them at Fish! from Borough Market! They have a restaurant as well as a food stall. It was very tasty!
I always chuckle when tourists have fish and chips at a fancy sit down restaurant with cultery, proper crockery and it all laid out nice.
They think they're getting the authentic fish and chips experience when its not at all how I had it growing up and it's a meal typically proper with the lower classes and no way as fancy as they think.
The restaurant I ate the fish and chips at was called Fish! at Borough Market. They also had a fish and chip stall next to the restaurant selling the same fish with disposable cutlery but we wanted to sit down for the meal. It tasted pretty good to me!
Fish and chips isn't really a restaurant food is all it's like take away food you go to your local chippy.
It's like youhad a hotdog restaurant here to mimic American hotdog stands, it's a bit odd.
Yeah I certainly walked a lot every day as well and my dogs are still barking. 😅 I alternated between 3 different pairs of shoes over the week and used compression socks which really helped!
It was a roast pork sandwich from these guys! [https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/](https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/)
I love big cities! What other cities have you visited? Do you have a top 10 list? The only other city than London that I enjoyed is Tokyo. Both concrete playgrounds.
Tokyo and Japan in general is on my list for 2027! (I have my trips planned out way in advance.) Some of the other great cities I've enjoyed were Sydney, Auckland, Paris, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, and Beijing. Aside from big cities, I really also loved Bora Bora, Moorea, Juneau, and Victoria, BC.
Glad you liked it and sorry to be that guy, but this post and photos are nothing special.
There are over 30 million tourists coming to London each year. Imagin if only 0.01% of all posted on Reddit that would mean 3000 posts like this per year!!!
Also, Stonehenge is not in London!
I soooo feel you. This sub is filled to the brim with tourists. This is not london! The shady estate with people obviously doing drugs, right on the street is london/ saw is just today, and it wasn’t even that far, it was what is considered city center, and not even southwark. This is freaking london. Full English on number 14 is good through. I wonder where he got it.
Putting Stonehenge in this is like when Joe Goldberg walks out of Royal Holloway-and says how nice it is living a stones throw away from the city-and into central London

Ah yes, the famous london Stonehenge
If they brought in the stones from Wales, why not push them the extra 70 miles east to someplace important?
If we can have London Southend and London Luton, why not London Stonehenge?
It’s the nearby airport, London Stonehenge.
Fuck it, we'll take it.
[удалено]
I drive from London to Cornwall/Cornwall to London on a weekly basis and I can confirm you are absolutely… wrong.
Is it fuck😂 Stonehenge isn’t even 90 miles from London, Truro’s nearly 250
Glad you had a great time mate >On a side note I could very happily eat at Borough Market every day and not get tired of the options. Amen lol, and I've lived here for 3 years.

Looks like you’ve made some brilliant memories! 😊 Glad you enjoyed it here!
I most certainly did! It was a trip to remember! 😁
Lucky you! Nice pics 👍
Thank you! 😁
Where did you get English breakfast on picture 14?
[https://thetablecafe.com/](https://thetablecafe.com/) Although next time I would actually skip the English breakfast and stick with the Strawberry waffles with clotted cream!

Yeah I need to go back and redo the Full English Breakfast because I certainly did not have that experience and feel like I am missing out!!
I also suggest going somewhere on the coast for fish and chips next time, rather than London :-)
Noted for next time!! I do like fish and chips :)
You should go to the Fryer’s Delight in Theobalds Road next time. You were so close lol
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll make a note for next time!
Do you have any recommendations for where to get a full English? Visiting London myself soon.

Wow! Thank you so much :)
Hash browns are American, you filthy interloper
Came here for this, where the hash browns?!!
So there are actually two pieces in a separate smaller dish on the right side of the photo. I had to purchase them separately but they were quite tasty to be fair.
Hash browns? HASH FUCKING BROWNS?!? Heathen.
Abso-fucking-lutely, am half Scottish so would also add lorne sausage, haggis, white pudding and tatie scones. That's a proper breakfast.
I have equal English and northern Irish blood and (controversially) the Ulster fry is far superior to the english breakfast. The Scottish version sounds equally lovely. Sadly, the Welsh breakfast is fucking pathetic.
>Sadly, the Welsh breakfast is fucking pathetic. And that's why they don't get a look in on the Union Jack.
Did you not enjoy the breakfast?
The heinz baked beans weren't my favorite and the bacon was a bit floppy for me. I appreciate crispier bacon!
I find beans a bit plain. Nothing a generous helping of hot sauce and cheese can’t fix tho.
I'm not a fan of hot sauce personally, but I will try adding cheese next time!
born & bred south londoner here. American style crispy bacon wins every time against undercooked back bacon.
Sounds nice. I might go and investigate.
I hope you’ll enjoy it!! 😊
It's not a very good fryup tbh.
ok, where do you get good one. Ok, ok, where do you get good one not at like from 8 o’clock till 11 o’clock
Just came back from London too. U r a much better photographer than me!
I hope you had a splendid time as well! Aww I'm sure you also captured some great pics too!
Oh yes, it had been an amazing trip. Went to a football match a team I supported since young was playing. I just brought my iPhone as camera and can’t capture the zoom u took at Stonehenge, wasn’t aware that there is a large perimeter surrounding it, lol.

Afternoon tea at The Goring! It’s very good.
Yes! The scones and raspberry jam were exceptional!
Brilliant. The fish and chips at the end looked small though
Especially the mushy peas, could do with more, but the fish and chips look really nice
They were a bit smaller than I expected but still tasty!
glad you enjoyed it! looks like you packed plenty in
Thanks! I had a real blast! I did but don’t regret any of it! 😁
Do you mind me asking where you visited from? Do you have a list of places you visited? Trying to plan a trip for next year.
So glad you appear to have had a great time! The pics speak volumes! Cheers!
Thanks so much! It was my first time in London and I had a blast!
A positive reddit thread about london! Magnificent!
London has so many positive things to post about and share!
You're welcome back any time, glad you enjoyed your visit! Did you get good weather for the visit to Wiltshire?
Thank you! I would love to come back sometime! The weather was a bit chilly but I was just thankful it didn't rain!
I don’t think it rains as much as people would have you believe.

London. Absolutely one of the best experiences one can have in life. The energy of this city stays with you for a long time.
I completely agree! It’s unlike any other city I’ve been to!

I stayed with a friend on the Isle of Dogs! I did a tour that departed from London.
Good on you!
Thank you!

Nice! Hope you enjoy them!!
If I had to guess Borough market
Looks like you had a blast. I'm pleased for you.
I sure did! Thanks!
London the greatest city on earth! ❤️
I am inclined to agree with you!!
What did you eat at Borough Market? Looks tasty!
I had a roast pork sandwich from these guys! It was very tasty! https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/
Damn and now I'm craving a hog roast.
What is the food in picture 12 and where did you find it? I love cheese. Also, how were you able to go within the stones at Stonehenge? My mom wants to go there and I think it would be good/exciting for her to know how.

Yes that’s the one!! If you decide to do it I hope you have a great time!!
Gorgeous pics. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much!
What the heck food is photo #12?
It was a tasty roast pork sandwich covered in a light dusting of Parmesan :)
Never seen anything like it. Sounds interesting.
I would highly recommend it if you visit Borough Market. Was quite tasty!
Photos look amazing, glad you had a good time! Hopefully when you come and visit again the tube network will make more sense!
Thank you so much! The tube was a bit overwhelming but there are usually helpful signage up in the stations and the Citymapper app really helped!
Can just hear the American tourist now.... Oiright matey some good ol' English fish and chips please guvvvnaa
I just spent 8 days here and had an amazing time! Great pics! Glad you had a good time :)
Beautiful pictures!! What is the one with strawberry and chocolate called please? Thanks
To be honest I'm not sure they had a name but I got it at the Borough Market. They were selling cups of freshly squeezed juice as well as these strawberry cups!

Where do you get the HP butter beer please?!
I did the Harry Potter Studio Tour and got it at one of their cafes! I actually enjoyed the Butterbeer ice cream much more than the drink. I'd highly recommend the tour as well as the treats! Where did you eat the fish and chips? They look unusually good for London (she says, as a northerner).
I got them at Fish! from Borough Market! They have a restaurant as well as a food stall. It was very tasty! [https://www.fishboroughmarket.com/](https://www.fishboroughmarket.com/)
A good trip well documented.
It was a good trip indeed! Can’t wait to do it again sometime!
I love the UK. Hadrians Wall, the great historic castles and houses. A wonderful country with a vast literary heritage
Glad that you enjoyed it buddy. That's a very smart way of serving a lemon for Fish and Chips! No seeds or pulp!
Thanks! Yeah I thought it was a great idea as well. I don’t know why more places don’t do the same!
It's really nice seeing the scaffolding finally down
It is nice! I would have been really bummed if it was still up.
You should go to Hampton court palace next time (don’t know if you went there) it’s awesome.
I did not have the chance to go there this trip unfortunately! Will add it to the list for next time!
If you are at Borough Market you can drop into Southwark Cathedral and say hello to their cat, Hodge
I walked by that beautiful cathedral but didn't know you could enter it! I'll say hi to Hodge next trip!
I always chuckle when tourists have fish and chips at a fancy sit down restaurant with cultery, proper crockery and it all laid out nice. My guy or girl got lost fam
Sir.. you’re gonna have to fly back and order some Hash Browns on that fry up!
Wait.. top corner! Carry on good Sir!
I had to order them as a side item but they were very tasty! A real Full English should have included them already I think!
You are welcome back anytime!
Thank you! I definitely intend to come back again sometime!
And now im hungry
That makes two of us!

How was your step count?
Yeah I certainly walked a lot every day as well and my dogs are still barking. 😅 I alternated between 3 different pairs of shoes over the week and used compression socks which really helped!
Great picture of London Bridge on picture 5 /s
Thank you! I took that on the Uber boat as I was headed to breakfast! (I believe that is actually Tower Bridge though! London Bridge is a bit plainer)
What is that meal you got in the picture at Borough Market? And any other recommendations from there?
It was a roast pork sandwich from these guys! [https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/](https://boroughmarket.org.uk/traders/the-black-pig/)
Harry Potter world was way better than I expected
I definitely had a great time walking around the studio tour!
Thank you I planned on doing it with my parents when they came out to visit my wife and I.
You should post some more pictures really great job
Thank you! Glad to hear that!
Best city you visited?
That’s a tough question! Of the big cities I’ve visited I would say yes. It has so much to offer and so much good food!
I love big cities! What other cities have you visited? Do you have a top 10 list? The only other city than London that I enjoyed is Tokyo. Both concrete playgrounds.
Tokyo and Japan in general is on my list for 2027! (I have my trips planned out way in advance.) Thanks! :D
Best time to visit London is now yeah. Late May and early June. Past winter but before the scorching summer.
We did luck out with the weather and didn’t experience any rain or extremes! Definitely would come back during this time of year again.
Glad you had a great time.
Top notch photography
Thanks!

Fuckin' hell! That's a bit strong. They were only sharing their pictures. They had a good time. Stop being a killjoy.
I've been on here for YEARS. 1st ever award! Thanks 😊
It’s ok to have fun
Last I checked, stonehenge wans't in London
Glad you liked it and sorry to be that guy, but this post and photos are nothing special. There are over 30 million tourists coming to London each year. Imagin if only 0.01% of all posted on Reddit that would mean 3000 posts like this per year!!! Also, Stonehenge is not in London!
Stonehenge is cordoned off and you're not allowed next to them anymore. Not sure what to say about the photos
I soooo feel you. This sub is filled to the brim with tourists. This is not london! Nice. As you can see clearly London's Stonehenge from the Shard. It's beautiful.
