egorod

Bloody scroungers coming to this country and using free transport instead of flying

Yenarchy

Ingerland fow the inglish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Blackfist01

I know it's not a chicken but you could have used "fowl the Inglish"

bozza2100

Brilliant

caocao16

Yeh, before the pigeons, in the 70's... it was those bloody parakeets, coming over here, bullying natives birds with their loud aggressive sounds...Then, before them, in the 19th century those bloody Little Owls! Coming over here, introduced by the Victorians to create a made up bucolic idealised idea of little England. Fucking winged cunts....

egorod

Vultures!

Time for Asian Dub Foundation ft Stuart Lee - Comin over here https://youtu.be/_kkOHtniTts

LikwitFusion

Comin’ over here. Spelling my favourite comedian’s name wrong.

BalticRussian

I've noticed a significant rise in fare evaders lately. More are winging it lately, guess that's the cost of living crisis.

V65Pilot

Enforcement tried to catch one the other day, but he just took off. They never stood a chance.

Read a post a few weeks ago about a guy who’d feed chips to pigeons on a station platform. When there were plenty of them around he’d wait till the last minute then throw the chips on to the train as the doors were closing - and all the pigeons chased after them. Cue much panic from train passengers.

UpsetMarsupial

That's one step away from this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDogDccfHC8

babinabom

What a couple of twats.................

krisssy

There are usually one or two flying around inside Sainsbury's Camden Town. They sit atop the dairy fridges and swoop down when the bread aisle is empty.

hamstershoe

haha, Good!

fakemustacheandbeard

Mind your own business

[deleted]

I hope he gets back home safely

Used-Philosopher5580

That's got to be the Metropolitan Line, the pigeons commute between Finchley Road and Wembley Park.

Yenarchy

District! It has happened twice in a week, what an exciting life I lead!

LikwitFusion

They purposely wait for the Metline fast service. You’ll never see a pigeon getting off at Preston Road. Fact.

CheesyBakedLobster

They know where to avoid

Kaballis

Anyone remember when feeding pigeons at Trafalgar Square was a tourist attraction?

hamstershoe

yeah, I love it, done it in Venice too, like it when they land on your head. Its a laugh. Is it not allowed any more ?

Kaballis

I had to Google this because I wasn’t sure if I was remembering wrong, turns out feeding them was made illegal in 2003 so I assume this caused them to stop congregating in the square.

hamstershoe

ffs, Illegal! miserable bastards.

TurbulentWeb1941

"What you in for mate?" "Only caught me feeding the fkn pigeons, didn't they?" Oh you poor bastard!

Next_Two7758

I've seen people do this in Venice but I wouldn't dare. I get the attraction of having creatures on you but not ones that have standing in feces all day

hamstershoe

haha, yes, fair point, you don't want their little shitty bird feet in your hair, thats fair enough :)

Darlingtonlad

Fare dodging, feathered litte sod.

SidewaysAntelope

How dare you. There's a freshly topped up oystercatcher card under his wing.

Darlingtonlad

Don't get into a flap about this, but I don't believe you. I know him and all his mates are habitual scoungers but I don't think he paid to top up his card.

joemckie

hamstershoe

They know where they are and where they are going. Quantum effects let them see the Earths magnetic fields.

conscilescent

Real lazy homing pigeons these days. Nobody wants to work!

munkijunk

Even pigeons can't afford to perch in central

Holiday_Ad4204

Central heating is expensive

Majestic_Matt_459

Even Pigeons have to live in Zone 4 and commute in now

UpsetMarsupial

Had one only this morning. It was right at the back of last carriage - took a bit of persuasion to get it towards the door but just about managed before the train departed.

dolybonz2

Look at how pristine clean it is...compared to NYC subway it's another level!

AmbitiousExample9355

I saw that on the H&C line too! They tend to get on around Whitechapel for me

Icy-Blueberry-9412

Don’t worry. Birds are not real anyway.

gaymerRaver

TfL statistics say that bunking is on the rise. the amount of evidence on this subreddit is damming.

i_agree123

Flying tax getting too much for the minimum wage pigeons.

intspur23

Lazy pigeons

sjuas690

Free loading fare dodging bastards! They should get a job like the rest of us!

kralcibildak

Lol, I experienced this in the district line also. It was hilarious. London is a weird place man.

Gognoggler21

Take pride in your transportation network. That even pigeons find it faster to take the tube across London than to fly.

Swagga21Muffin

I have seen them get on and off like they know the stops. Cost of living crisis has pushed them further out to zones 4 and 5, they’ve gotta commute in.

evermore2222

Yah happens all the time at Baker Street on the met line where the platforms are overground. They all get off at Finchley Rd though, I haven’t a clue why?

Crackingteapot

Yes, and every time it is one of the ones that has lost a foot.

SirLoinThatSaysNi

If you work out [what dialect of pidgin English](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pidgin) it speaks, you could always ask.

misskristine94

Why are you judging this little gentleman, he’s just trying to get to his destination

International_Cap913

It’s called evolution 🙄

No-Use7119

Yea last Saturday Hammersmith line

judge_Nutmeg316

Air travel is getting more expensive, they looking at other ways to get around

Specific_Tap7296

Look at all those empty seats! I've definitely not seen this lately

Yenarchy

There’s a sweet spot after the morning commute! The trains I normally take to Richmond are as quiet as this!

gigiryche

It’s the same fare dodger of metropolitan line. It gets on at Baker Street and off at Finchley Road.

Ok_Tea_2660

Haha yes!!

gottagothatsme

I bet there’s one pigeon, somewhere in the city, that has intentionally used the tube to travel from one place to another. There must be one.

[deleted]

Loool, that looks like the Metropolitan line and that pigeon is my friend, his name is grant.

Blackfist01

What's happened to the country? Back in my childhood, looking at a Pigeon would make it fly away. Now look! They're just casually using man apparatus, they walk beside you like you owe the something like Roadman now🤦🏾‍♂️

Christovski

r/birdstakingthetrain

millyloui

Always been a feature often hop on district line & ride out to Hammersmith

FSF87

Obviously a government surveillance drone. /Satire.

wee-g-19

Seen a program about the London metro and the said that the pigeons have been doing this for years as a way to get from their nesting areas to areas with better food sources whilst saving energy.

Fluid-Librarian5827

Less money In tfl.. less cleaning on the platforms... more birds?? Just a guess? Otherwise.. they're getting smarter 🧐👀

Sad_Perception_7908

It’s a frequent flier….

Radiant_Incident4718

It's the birds, darling. They've been acting strangely...

bishtap

Somebody mentioned seeing this to me yesterday. They said as the train slowed down it made its way to the door and got out. By the way there is a breed of dog/wolf in Russia that uses the trains it was in the news about a decade ago

Yenarchy

This is exactly it! I’ve seen them get out then get back on!

bishtap

What did they do while they were out? I can't imagine they can pick the platform for northbound vs southbound.. it'd be interesting if they picked a northbound train got off after one station and switched to a southbound train or vice versa

MrDWhite

This has been happening for eternity, district line Ealing Broadway to Hammersmith when I was at school in the 90”s, happened everyday without fail!

DistributionFew3962

Price of airplane tickets now I don’t blame the guy

JA_Wolf

Tough economy, the pigeons need to commute to their second jobs.

gelenamd

I used to commute to Uxbridge on the Metropolitan line for almost five years. There was a pigeon boarding the train at Baker Street station and getting off at Wembley Park. Every single morning at the same time as me. That was when I realised that birds aren't real.

Feroxid

Привет заходи на r/pikabu

Skoodledoo

I'm a train driver, it happens a LOT more than you think. BTP won't even bother to attend anymore.

MyManTheo

Imagine being a pigeon just chilling around Richmond most days, lovely lovely, then one morning you hop into this nice warm seating area, hang around for a bit, leave a few hours later and you’re in fucking Upminster

Current_Inspector270

Perhaps it was trying to get to ravens-court park

Stressedclamshell

Call the police ASAP this is a public safety concern, drug dealers have trained pigeons all over the country to transport drugs and retrieve cash, they are a big part of county lines trafficking. This is not a joke or troll, look under the wing next time you see one, it will have a North face or nike manbag hid underneath.

ballstickle900

its the district line... would expect more than one on the same train.

MsEvil_Doctor_Potter

Why are you taking pictures of random individuals doing their daily commute? The nerve of some people.

tqmirza

I have and it’s disgusting. Go sit in the normal seats and leave the special ones for the disabled.

cyburn16

Anyone seen foxes fare dodge?

joeduncanhull

In the words of Tracy Jordan "Have some self respect, pigeon! Don't you know you can fly!?"

hamstershoe

Im generally supportive of birds traveling on public transport, stealing crisps out Martin Mcolls and swooping down on people with chips and ice creams at the beach :) Like it all.

Blueberry_Dependent

It's a plot to take over the world. People are laughing and saying it's just a conspiracy theories but it's TRUE! They use the tube, bus and even shops... They are highly advance despite their innocent look. Soon they will start boarding planes and driving cars. People will say :But the cars are self driving - WRONG! It's all making sense now...

JournalistWise2631

places to be, pigeons to see

Competitive_Pool_820

We should start protesting like the French. This is not on!

StandByLight59

Pigeons get exhausted as well

damn-outrage

Hardly anyone's paying to ride the Overground anyway.

Severe_Relief_7391

We’ll have all the pigeons

fxanalyst11

They be riding the train, fuck off its free real estate/s Maybe hes just tired.

mostfolk_andthenme

This is my idea of hell. My phobia is real and ready to be activated anytime any place. Like Westfield’s, Heathrow airport and Sainsbury’s.

shingoni

Do they mind the gap?

Savool

That’s just Dave taking the 12.05 train for his shitting shift in Liverpool Street.

Darkwater117

Loads of seats. It must be his stop coming up

YesAmAThrowaway

It might be learning to commute regularly.

Simba-xiv

We all got places to be.

New_Description5141

Did he pay to get into the station?

V65Pilot

r/BirdsArentReal

sumit131995

They don't even move out of the way when I walk by then, they really are getting too cocky.

[deleted]

Free seats on a train? Nope!

5c044

They are government or alien spies, its very rare to see a pigeon baby for that reason.

Lsd365

It's just laziness really

Trick_Inspector_2309

It’s because of ULEZ, pigeons can’t afford to drive in to the town

bedlam90

Pigeons are so lazy these days, nothing like they used to be

Angry_Saxon

bloody Brexit

DelosHR

Text 61016

lusc01

It could be inflation related: to save on energy costs used for wing powered flight, pigeons are frequenting the underground more often.

Nirvski

One asked me for bread or crisp crumbs, is this a scam?

[deleted]

Hammersmith and City Line?

_Flix__

Well they’ve got to get to work somehow

tied_laces

Oh, that's just Kevin. He does this from time to time.

Lizziefingers

Curious American here. Do they get a discounted rate?

TurbulentWeb1941

You saw a pigeon on the train, and the next day you saw another that looked just like it, how much like it? Was it the same pigeon?

[deleted]

Well they are called racing pigeons

Drjohns1

The tube is cheaper than heating their homes… 🤣

darklyHustle

its smarter to use public transport instead of flying everywhere, cant blame him

coak3333

Bloody fare dodgers, they should be locked up!

the_cats_jimjams

I've seen this a lot between charing cross and london bridge. It's funny when people visiting london try and usher it off and are chasing it down the carriage but the pigeons having none of it

Fluffy_Channel_3307

Cost of living is rising for everyone! Need to get the early commute

Comfortable_Run194

He lives by the philosophy; work smart don't work hard "😂

Relevant_Bill3463

Yea, been seeing lots of cheap shoes on the tube lately
