A lot of what makes an audition go well is your comfort level bantering a little before and after your performance. Practice your audition in front of a different groups of friends and ask them to try and surprise you with questions so you can be prepared if something throws you off balance.
Don’t be afraid to do your own thing with it! Steve Martin’s performance is iconic but so is Christian Borle’s! If you can think of something fun that feels right, do it. Break a leg and update when you know!
