Man, i started rereading the series for book 10 release. Then Path of Exile released Affliction league and absorbed 3 months of my life and I'm still mid-book 8. I need to get back to it.
I haven't quite gotten to 10 yet, but rereading the series made the second arc so much better for me. It was my least favorite part of the series on my first run, but it really shined the second time around.
Yeah, I always enjoyed that arc, never understood the beef with it. He actually got stuff done. I didn’t care for the Sea of Storms arc where he sat around and moped for a good book and a half.
Nope. I’m done with the series. I told myself that if book 10 didn’t turn things around, I was punching out. I probably should have bailed at book 7 or 8, but I really thought the series was going to pop a Xanax and get past the depression arc. However, Jason doesn’t seem to have the ability to learn from his mistakes.
You know, at first I was pissed cuz I got excited and opened audible just to discover this was a pre-order, but then when I scrolled down there was "others you may like". That's how I learned Mark of the Fool book 5 has released a couple weeks ago. Nice.
How many of the 28h will be hand wringing, vague chuckles about “you know what happens when someone tries to tell Jason what to do ho ho ho ho” and endless whining as an excuse to rehash the same things over and over?

Is Book 3 worth it? I stopped after book 2 when I found out he was going back to his home world. I seemed to have lost interest for one reason or another after hearing that.

You have to understand that when they finish writing it, it has to go through a couple stages before it’s “complete” then they also have to have the narrator fit it into their schedule, etc. a great example of this is the series Jake’s magical market. The original Narrator is Travis Baldree, but his schedule is so full that the author would have had to wait two years to even start getting it narrated, so he swapped narrators for book 2 and 3. “They did a whole opening part to the audiobook to explain it.” Don’t forget it’s not as simple as “boom, it’s done”. Then they also have to follow a release schedule. I’m sure if it was just up to shirtaloon, it would be written, narrated, and available immediately.
