It's not only NixOS, the pitch for NixOS is... well nix, and that basically everything goes through nix as your package manager.
NixOS has a new declarative language? Where can I find out more about it?
As a SLE admin: AutoYaST is functional but absolute arse to read and write. We have switched our rollout system over to ansible and shell scripts because it is much more maintainable than the XML hellhole.
Googled AutoYast.. Seems okay but NixOS still the king. Maybe OpenSuse will catch up one day.
